How fast have you had out of your standard VR?
Chris VR6nos replied to VRev6's topic in General Car Chat
Intresting. Where are all these "Private" roads? none round here, or anywhere else i've been :-( My clock has shown 160 even before fitting the charger or nitrous and i know a few other people that have the same experience, but have shown 165 approx. with the charger on and 170 in a mates vr with charger in 6th. Yes you can hit the limiter in top gear but i recon you'll bottle it first! Chris -
I know James, Corrado VR6n.o.s! What does that mean? Chris **mod edit** sorted your quote - stevemac

beavis, nitrious is eveil... be happy with with your new engine!!! you will only blow the bol***ks outta it with that stuff. 61posts! what can I say? Narnaman, you know your stuff enough mate, spot on. I use 75bhp jets on mt VR, no prob. Impressed with the kit & price you got there! Good one! Enjoy. A purge kit is only really needed for dry kits to enable the full charge of gas to get to the solenoids unless you just want to vent a plume of wasted nitrous into the air with a woosh to impress the girls ;-) My bottle lasts quite a long time, a 10lb bottle should last approx. 13mins with 25bhp jets (source: Trevor Langfield, TMC) LOL @ bottle on parcel shelf :-D Chris

I think the general consensus of opinion is for the 205's! Long live 205's! Viva la 205! Donde esta la callie de las pharmacias? Una poco Espaniol chicos Chris

Have you all seen the 2.8L golf VR6turbo Eip does? 680bhp at the wheels! I run approx 325bhp at the flywheel if figures are to be believed but hey! I use my VR for what it's for and nothing has broken in the couple of years i've had it apart form me crashing it! The power to the tarmac isn't much of a problem in my considered opinion and have even used the nitrous in first gear when up against a cossie or Evo VI with impressive results, just don't floor it off the line, that's NOT driving, that is hoping!! My engine is happy to rev to 7K eagerly and hits the limiter! The charger will help, as will the 5lb ultra-lite flywheel but 17's help get the power down with the bigger contact footprint than the 15's can provide, if you want to go fast, get the kit and spend the money! 20v's are excelent engines and i have been very impressed with them but a VR6 has a special pedigree from back in the day and a following to match. Long live the VR6!!! Chris P.s. Thought i'd join in with the long posts on this thread! :-D

not good info in my opinion Kev. i have 7.5J wide rims and 215's were no good as they catch the arches badly but the 205's i replaced them with are fine and both aspect ratios were the same, 40series on 17's Only a view on my situation and others may differ, however, i feel your sweeping statement is too generalized if you are offering advise Kev! I have sent them an email about this topic mentioning the differences for the UK dash, wonder what response I'll get, if they make them thierselves they might easily be able to print the correct info on the dials, and bingo! Chris

Cottage industry, orders please! Just drumming a little business up for you J! :-) Chris

I spoke to James about this as i thought they looked too good to be DIY but they are! Spoier, you have missed an 'L' out of your name by the looks of it! Don't worry about cracks around the holes as the disks have been professionally heat treated with a hot spoon and this technique is proven to be fool proof! Nice job James! Have you checked the welds on your manifold lately? LMAO     Chris

Biggrim with little steelies, LOL ;-) No offence! Chris

Nice! Just mind the wheels don't fall off! ;-) Chris

If you know Guy, why are you saying you need 27K to get one? Do you want to pay over the odds? Guy (The p***** idiot) phoned me at home at 2:15am to tell me how he'd just bought the R32 that day and infuse me with his entheusiasm, explaining how it was all that he'd expected AND more! LOL (sorry Guy) ;-) They are good, AND 4wheel drive, with Sat-Nav etc! Chris

Let's see a pic of the Wilwood & drilled brembo's then! Chris

Mine are 288mm Black Diamond grooved & cross-drilled discs with Pagid pads. Takes a few times to warm them up but you can't get break fade easily at all so they make a great setup for not that much! Chris

Was that a squeak? No, I think it was Nigel walking! ;-) Chris

I have a proper car with 5stud holes! Chris
