  1. Yeah i've been down a couple of times, picking up a long throw steel VR crank with Paul(H8 RRA) for his car. Never had mine on the rollers, shame but need other stuff doing before i spend cash on R/Roading it though i'm curious what it's putting out in it's current state! Chris
  2. Slap a big noisy Charger on a VR6 with a bit nos and enjoy the noise! Chris
  3. LOL, good story! Yeah, the setup hasn't gone to far from those grass roots, a portacabin was bought last year to use as an office and the sheds/allotments are still there! The kit is good though and works well but it makes round-a-bouts come up very quickly indeed! Jim, how did your car do on stealths rollers? Chris
  4. You're just too good, nice job, they shoul make them like that! Chris
  5. There you go Trippy, lots of comments in all directions! Lads, look at Trippy's skyline in the avarat though! It's got a carbon bonnet, body kit and a daft git big hole in the front bumper where the number plate should go! Am I making a connection here? Yes it's ostentatious, obviously it is, but that's the whole appeal. Each to his own! I love the OTT impact it has, the testiment to that is that there is lots of comments on here already! You would look at it more than another car because of the afore mentioned reasons, it just lacks some real power! I'll get Paul to sell you his VR engine James, will come up to the cruise on Sat night in 3 VR's to Dumfries, should be good. Wonder if anyone else on here wants to meet up there or anywhere from Newcastle to Carlisle? Chris
  6. Here are some pics of the once Max Power Corrado. Looked pretty crap in the advert for it on Ebay and elsewhere but doesn't look too bad in these pics. It has a TSR 2.0 16v engine giving 180bhp and has a Gemini 6speed box as well as coil-overs to boot, worth the £1750 trippy paid! ;-) Any spare VR engines around for this conversion or does any one want a full steel crank bottom end etc spot on enging to replace thier std one? Chris
  7. The head is flat & the bowl is in the piston which is smaller(AFAIK) to give the same compression with the smaller 2.8 displacement. There are oversised pistons available but not from VW, Stealth had 10sets made in two steps for re-boring but he only ha 1 or 2 sets left IIRC, they are cast like the origional ones not forged, this is reflected in the price though for the same £180 re-bore price you may aswell get the JE ones but be sure to specify which of the two C?R you require, either 9:1 or 11:1 for forced induction or N/A. Are-map is essential to get is to run right afterwards. Chris
  8. Hope you have invested in a progressive controller then ! ! ! 50's fine, 75 works well, 100 is pushing it, 125 you're asking for something to break! A progressive will let you go 150bhp with the same loads as 75 single hit. Chris
  9. Interesting, what you planning? I'm having the same problem, i need to know the std clearence volume to calculate the C/R with a long stroke crank and std pistons, for now anyway. Chris
  10. Not too fussed about the pipes as long as it delivers! Joe, if you mean the metering jets in the solenoids, they are at 75bhp though each injector is capable of handling 175bhp alone, the idea of direct port is that the VR's long & curvy inlet manifold means that you get a fair degree of fuel drop out and i want as much as i can get out of it without waste. The power delivery is instant and more accurate that the single point. Will be good when fitted i'm sure so here's waiting for a nice day to fit it. James, you not fancy? I need to get things sweet for this years thrash to Mania in Belgium i hope to go to. Chris
  11. On the topic of Nirtous, i thought i'd share my new purchase with you. Direct port nitrous oxide injection system for the VR6 Chris
  12. Hope to get to some shows & 1/4mile days this year and with a few more tweeks i'm curious to see how it goes but i've never rated the VR as a good 1/4mile car anyway cos it's too heavy but we shall see. Chris
  13. Only for the chocolate pistoned G60s! My VR runs well with 100bhp jets and so do many others, i'm surprised at that comment Nige! Chris
  14. G-Lader, you seem to have a spider on the lense in yoour pic ;-) Chris
  15. By the way, WD40 breaks down oil, you may be better using a 3in1 oil or something similar. LOL at bits falling off all the time! I know just how u feel, mine is just about clinging to life i think, still goes well but not much else plus it looks shit since i crashed it & not had is painted yet  Chris
  16. I have Focal Kevlar, a bit dear but unrivalled sound without distortion used with a good amp, tweeters mounted in dash grilles to give good high front staging. Chris
  17. Do a search for nitrous on here, you will see that there is, and I have posted quite a bit on this subject if it hasn't been deleted when the forum changed. Your mate knows all there is to know! and he's running 150shot of nos!! Then he should use his wisdom and a little pulse width modulation and get more power with less stress and more efficiant use of the gas than he currently seems to be! I know Trevor quite well and that info you offered does not sound like the wisdom of the wizard plus ARP rod bolts are meant to keep the bearing caps in place for high revving situations, nitrous provides a high torque environment at lower revs by offering an abundance of free oxygen to burn the extra fuel with, the better & more useful addition would have been to use chromolybdenium rods to handle the high rod compression forces produced from Nitrous use not just bolts which offer little with this kind of use though are a good part to use, progressive is the tool and a suggested safe margin is half the std engines output figure added by the nitrous. Good-oh! Chris P.s. Cheers Cheesy
  18. Just showing off now aren't ya! ;-) Chris
  19. I have the Vortech charger and love the torque and revvy power it instantly gives, reliability is high, though i have shreaded a couple of belts but that is prob more to do with driving style. The V9fSq can produce 23psi IIRC but anything over 9psi has to have a toothed drive system because you will get belt slipping. I use Nitrous with it aswell. Chris
  20. Driving through Gosforth the other day in my silver VR with white bumper, nodded at each other, Anyone here? Chris
  21. My poor little VR has to put up with this :-( Chris
  22. Kev, again, another skilled job! Neat. Chris
  23. interesting, we await the installed article Chris
  24. Gaz, sad times man, sorry for laughing, hope you and your C get well soon. Some impressive figures there, struan, did you tinker with the computer measuring the rollers when no-one was looking? Really blinding result, good one! ;-) Chris
  25. It's been said before but, the VR has a high flow cat as std(not sexually transmitted disease) and the main benefit from changing it is whan using nitrous or when it's charged. I should get one then me thinks! Chris
