  1. philO, Don't be confused with the system being spoken about on here, that is for cooling the charge from a charger/turbo. This system should be called steam injection as it is heated by the exhaust and injected as steam, that's what i was talking about being relevent to a normally aspirated engine. Chris
  2. BigTartanG60, spot on, but i think the big single struts are as intrusive as the std prop, that's why i went for the side struts plus you can still go for a strut brace if you like. Chris
  3. Go on Andi ! ! ! My VR is on 155,564 and can still pull the needle off the clock! Did a head gasket a few weeks ago and checked out the bores, they were all like glass, smooth and unscored, mint! and that's with using a charger & nitrous! Chris
  4. You only need to get different rods if you use a different stroke crank so if you are going to spend money on a re-bore you may aswell go for the biggest as the re-bore and pistons are the same price regardless of size. Cubes make power. Chris
  5. Matt, send Shell an Email Just going on what i was told by them! Emailed them when it was coming out to ask when my local station was to get it and what ron it'd be, 98.6 was in thier answer Chris
  6. I got them from Eurocarparts and were only £19.99 Chris
  7. Don't want to burst anyones bubble but I have a set of the INXX lifters. I had to drill the bonnet & tap the holes obviously, this isn't too hard a job if you have the right drill & tap to hand but you have to be extra careful to drill into the spot weld else you don't have enough thickness of metal to hold the thread! Here are some pics i've just ran out to take, god it's freezing out there! Chris
  8. Yup, mine is looking a bit dull & marked from the water & salt etc, Brasso eh? shall try it. Chris
  9. LowG, I see the Mclaren F1Lm alloys on it, good work 8) Well spotted! Chris
  10. What comic's have you been reading? Guy H's VR has lots more than just a charger on it and is at 315 bhp & 278 or is it 287Lbs/ft torque, nothing is a straight forward as it seems but if you believe what you say why don't we all just buy one of those! The forst one was withdrawn for it's problems & the replacement is better but is still limited as for it's potential as stated in the instructions you get with it, i fitted a Z on Paul's (H8 RRA) VR the other day, it works well but seriously, i'd have to be shown the evidence to convince me of those claims. Convince with evidence. Chris
  11. Not so true Kev! Water injection for forced induction like we would use it for is not the only way to use it, years back it was used to almost double the fuel consumption from what i have found and keep the combustion chamber clean from carbon, and raise the combustion pressures, it worked and quite well from all reports, however the water in this system goes in as steam, not cold. Chris
  12. Tee-Hee Is that better? or is it just wrong! Chris
  13. there has been a good bit said about it on here, use the search on the forum bar at the top  Chris
  14. I was standing in front of Top-Secret's Skyline yesturday with things getting taken off the engine to get changed or fixed, didn't look enything too special under the bonnet :? Chris
  15. Here's the car in question looking a little happier! With a little photoshop work Comments?? Chris
  16. Must check out all the exciting cars on the Nova forum! Chris
  17. Err....No, god damn freezing! Chris
  18. I want to see it happy again  Chris
  19. Paul there are many sites out there to get reviews from but Pioneer are at the bottom of my wish list, I have Focal Kevlar componants but divide any peak power by 4 to get a guide of handling power, the RMS(root mean squar) is the average constant handling power, I think my Focals were £360 when i bought them, for 2 6inch bass drivers & 2 tweeters & cross-overs and they sound beautiful! These speakers were in a number of IASCA sound off winning cars Chris
  20. Henny, i think he was more so asking what difference they make not what they are but i could be wrong! The single cone finds it hard to oscillate at high & low frequencies at the same time once you get higher in power as the excursion becomes greater so get a small cone(tweeter) to do it's job & leave the bigger cone handle the bass, the cross-over filters out the frequencies that each speaker doesn't need thus keeping complience with each speaker & ultimately cleaner more accurate sound at higher volume without distortion! HTH Chris
  21. Chrishill, You not fancy tagging along to the cruise in Dumfries on Sat? We'll be going to Trippy's for a while first for refreshments and to tinker with C's, He's in Carlisle but a nice part! Chris
  22. It's a secret! ABT & EIP do them this one is 95.6mm IIRC Chris
  23. Bora: A violent, cold, northeasterly winter wind on the Adriatic Sea. Phaeton \Pha"["e]*ton\, n. [F. pha['e]ton a kind of carriage, fr. Pha['e]thon Pha["e]thon, the son of Helios. See Pha[\"e]thon.] 1. A four-wheeled carriage (with or without a top), open, or having no side pieces, in front of the seat. It is drawn by one or two horses. Chris
  24. I have had Rockford Fosgate for a good few years now and find them hard to beat, never gone wrong and it gets some shit but likes it! As an audiophile choice the Focal Utopia series is blinding but expensive. Chris
  25. It's not big & it's not clever, it's just wrong. Good idea but like it says, using it only on WOT then with 1psi or 1.7psi unless you go for the 3in-a-line eRam S 3.0 who knows! but it's very limited and for that cost you could have a constant benefit from cams or a re-map that would give more gain and be there throughout the rev range. Chris
