Aaaaah, the pile of 'old' bits pic takes me back. But, the pic of the newly blasted / coated pics is the one I'm waiting for. Bliss... You got all the new nuts & bolts on order??? Hours in the parts department for a (hopefully) small bill. LOL

I'm sorry you have had to come to this decision but know you have not been able to enjoy using the car for a while. All the best for an easy sale and for in the future. xx

He was running the water cooled comp at VW Festival, Harewood again this year. No sign of his C there though of course.

You can ask a mod to change it... but beware, mods asked to change user names often change them to something you didn't ask for!!! (Bit of an in joke which you wont get so don't worry, I'm sure they wouldn't do that to a newbie ;) ) Oh, and sounds like a nice car. Get some pics up :)

Just popped to the car parts store (aka the room next to this!!) to get the number off the new bit sat waiting for fitting. 535 807 181 :)

Errrr, I'm wondering where you saw it 'cause it would be pretty obvious what would have been happening to it where it should have been this morning. Maybe I should have noted the mileage in case she has been taken on a joy ride!!!.... ;) lol

And for anyone wondering that heap of black metal will be coming out of the garage tonight to make room for my Storm when it comes home from a little trip elsewhere overnight :)

Thanks Mark, Phil, Dave and everyone else who has said well done in/on various places. I was truely surprised to be told I was placed 3rd (and not only because they have only announced an overall winner in previous years). I celebrated by drinking the champagne my sister bought me for my birthday a few weeks ago. And I do feel slightly guilty that what really swung it between mine & Kips was that my front brakes were so much better being cleaner and shiny shiny silver between the vents. And they were only that good as Kip fitted new calipers (but I did paint them) last week and gave the disks a touch up while he was about it!!! ---------- Post added at 09:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:25 PM ---------- Yeah. Another bonus of standard suspension... you can get under to clean the exhaust, backs of wheels and can get hands into wheel arches to clean properly. I think its slightly funny that so many 'show' cars have very dirty wheel arches when you look closely. I think I came out from underneath too soon as Dave would have had a pic of just my legs sticking out!

Saw this today. Beautiful work. Wish I had the courage to retrim some bits of my interior (I got an A in O level needlework [a long long time ago] but that is totally different to stitching in leather!!)

I've only got some of the show stand. Seemed to live there almost all day! There WERE 6 cars in the class but 3 drove off quite early.

drop samG40 (or G40sam...) a pm. His lady has an auto. they live up this way. i doubt it would be available but they could give you an idea on drive. Good luck with the recovery.

Bonnet foam. It was a no brainer decision as the original stuff really wasn't worth keeping. Just been looking for some pics of it but haven't got any. maybe one day someone will find a supplier of the stuff and get some cut.. the stuff must surely still be in use somewhere by someone

Sorry all, it could be thread update overload soon.... Bit of progress of sorts tonight, MORE bits came off but he's very happy playing with it/her. Not sure about the find though, surely Corrados ain't old enough to have these knocking about under the seats???

S'funny but when someone has an accident in a car park all hell breaks out but when a celebrity known to love, and usually drive well, a seriously powerful car crashes on an A road (while probably doing the maximum speed allowed at that point ;) ) no one calls him a tool !!!

We do know (and have seen the car) at CCGB National Day last year. And very nice it is too. (so it's a renewal then :).. much easier)

Pat..... who knows. Last I heard was, 'well, as the front end is off I might as well take x / y / z off and get them blasted / painted...' This could be a LONG time going back together!
