  1. I certainly thing that it's worth removing a section from the arms. TBH my VR wipers are pretty good as standard, but I did upgrade the 16v to Lupo wipers.
  2. Have you actually checked the oil pressure? I would not use it if I didn't know the oil pressure was alright.
  3. That's my car, and the wrong side. The sensor is either plugged into that section of grill or the air duct behind it, just on the drivers side instead.
  4. It does amaze me how lucky some people are. Came across a Feista the other day that hit a tree after losing control (The kid was going too fast, there was a tree down partly blocking the road, and it was wet) the passenger door was stoved in by 18 inches, and the drivers roof was caved in so the window was about 6 incches high. The young guy walked away with 2 small scratches on him, and didn't realise how lightly he had gotten off.
  5. Dealer would be a good bet I imagine.
  6. Either tucked into the lower grill below the towing eye on a later car, or in the brake cooling duct (Drivers side) on an early car.
  7. Might well be frozen water in the handbrake cables. Best bet is to replace them.
  8. I actually have a twin DTM on my 16v. Is everyone ganging up on me?
  9. Does sound like the flow through the heater matrix is becoming blocked.
  10. Makes me think of a car who everyone used to rave about, but was apparently completely forked under the shiny paint and expensive wheels.

    HELP! Fan probs

Fan blades are out of balance. there should be some little metal weights on them IIRC. Check that it's bolted in securely and none of the blades are damaged.
  12. Like I've done? I might just leave mine looking shabby, but perfect underneath. :D
  13. It's neither. 2l 16v was a 9A with KE-Jetronic, not Digifant.

    vr bonnet

Should be fine. Late bonnet onto early car I assume?
  15. Blue one on the A505 near Royston, heading toward Baldock, at 14.15 today.
  16. Yeah, only thing is the metal tubes they run through from inside the car to the underside can corrode causing the end of the cables to stick inside them. I ended up having to melt the end of the cable then drill the remains out of the tubes, nothing too serious, just a pain in the arse.
  17. Shove a new set of handbrake cables on it, that ought to sort the issue out. I used to have to leave mine running for a while so the underside of the car warmed up and the cables defrosted.
  18. Luckily there shouldn't be too much open ended barrier around in this country. There are current moves to replace the existing concrete anchors with flat ended collapsable sections (you may have noticed them with chevrons on the end plates) these are designed to deform and slow the car down in the event of it hitting the end rather than act as a launch ramp as the old concrete blocks do.
  19. Oh, and that is awesome. Belonged to someone called Spencer Tramm I believe, think there are threads on here about it. :)
  20. I don't think it's that bad. Far worse things happen to other cars.
