Spal fan wiring and constant full speed dash switch
Jim Bowen replied to sexybourbon's topic in Engine Bay
I took photos of the part numbers, can see them in the pics, tbh i've run the car with just the bigger fan connected and it works fine. I can't remember who i got the brackets from, but am sure i've made a cad drawing of them in case any wants to get some laser cut. -

I can't remember now, bought the fans from one place, the brackets from someone on here and the wiring i think came from vehicle wiring products -

I don't think i have, am sure i followed a guide in this thread. Basically 4 wires from the corrado loom, one is earth the other three are all live (one for each fan speed). I just added two new bits of wires to each one, so that they could then connect to each of the two fans, (they only have a live and an earth) -

Got model today, looks perfect, thanks.

I had a problem with that, its to do with the plus suspension. I think when you tighten hub nut its meant to pull itself in and create the rest of the splines. I think thats what makes them hard to remove, i know the end of my cv joint had been bashed with a hammer a lot in the past, and it was deformed. I guessed that was previos garages/owners trying to remove them. I ended up grinding the splines on my hub with a very small dremel bit so it had the slots all the way down. Probably not correct but hasn't caused any issues.

I've never experienced the heat cracking the lens, drove about 30miles home once using the foglights as the headlights had decided to break

Wasn't there someone in the past that fitted glass from a different car altogether, seem to have a vague memory of it, maybe a BMW or something?
-
I've given up with it, totally impractical to do it on the roads around here. I just drive the car a few times

I thought i was 36yrs for most of the year. So gained a year mentally

I'll have it please. May as well have all the colours sat in a cupboard

Its the outside air temp sensor, clips onto the inside of bumper, just pushes through a little hole
-
Since my earlier reply in this thread i am now 36yrs old, which coincidentally is the oldest i've ever been

When i fitted the powerflex rear bushes, they had 3 slots in the bush where it passes through the axle, this lets water in and it rotted out the mounting points on my axle. I notice the newer powerflex bushes don't have these slots.

Sounds like coilpack to me. Check it in the dark and look for sparks.

I need to do this, replaced the whole tensioner with an INA item but started making a noise after a few thousand miles.
