Its quite simple, you need to remove the black engine cover and disconnect the ht leads and the connector to the coilpack. If it were in the haynes manual i'd rate it as a 1 spanner job

Yeah, 2.8 again, the last engine i had was a 2.8, i didn't notice much difference tbh, fitted the corrado inlet etc and will probably add some cams at some point. Am hoping its a decent purchase, figured its alot cheap and easier than getting one rebuilt, think it has cams/crank and timing gear all installed

Cheers, looks like he knows what he is doing, will get in touch, see if i can post him a gearbox

https://cabmasters.com/miscellaneous/vw-vr6-engine This popped up on facebook a few weeks ago, didn't want to share in case they all disappeared, but bought myself one now. He has 2 left now when i spoke to him. Fingers crossed its all good, cost £990 delivered

Also, is there a difference between corrado and golf boxes? As i may have a corrado one and a golf one.

Hi Hasan Just interested in what cams you have?

Seeing as i have a new engine on the way (again), I'd like to look at doing something with gearbox, the two i have are both high mileage and i got them muddled up so not sure which is which now. Find a low mileage one or get one of mine rebuilt? How much is that likely to cost? I know stealth racing do it, but can't be arsed with the trip up there, am sure most gearbox specialists can manage. Is it worth doing any sort of upgrade/mod while I'm there?

I've noticed now that mine still has weird hot start issues, starts ok, but the revs climb really slowly as if its starting at 100rpm and slowly raises until idling properly, not kicking into life straight away if that makes sense.

Daily is still going well, only had to change the front pads so far

Thought i'd update this a bit as got another new engine update coming soon, still running around with an engine i bought off the forum a few years back, but its using oil and sounds tappy. I just paid Fotki some money hoping i could link pics to here, but notice the photobucket pics in this thread seem to be working for me now? Do they work for everyone? Testing some Fotki pics from recent mot Hosted on Fotki

Nah, its the solid plastic tube that runs from water pump to the thermostat housing -

The wiring is usually fixed to the coolant pipe that runs across front of engine. Should be two plastic clips -
I've had the miwitness front and rear kit for years, is a good bit of kit, the original one was a smooth piano black and looked nice which is why i got it. But the latest model doesn't looks as simple/clean

Excellent news, a job for tonight, what bearing do people refit to it?
-
Got a couple of spares and would like to replace the bearing, am sure i've heard of people doing it. Whats the best way to get the bearing out of the pulley? Been hammering away at it but not budged. Got a spare pulley to practice on luckily.

i was thinking about this the other day, seems to happen to me a lot and i started wondering if its some corrado trait, as don't seem to notice it in other cars.
-
I think you can disconnect the fog light wiring at a plug behind the head lights. Worth trying to use the fogs with them disconnected and if the fuse doesn't blow then it's probably a trapped/worn wire in back of fogs

Oh, mine are black, tbh the advert seemed a little different to how i remember it

Although Facebook corrado groups are more active, they lack the proper technical chat and what i prefer about forums. Facebook seems to be mainly people posting that they want stuff but on the cheap. Or just constant Internet diagnostics of misfires or non starts

I get mine from this guy, is local to me, got them for corrado and my other car https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-89-96-Tailored-Car-Floor-Mats-Deluxe-Deep-Velour-Grey-Carpet/372001864940?hash=item569d09fcec:g:wMAAAOSwHMJYMJ7D Check the options though as you can get a heel pad and deluxe version

I find lego is loosing it a bit, too many custom parts to make a model that is beginning to look as if its not made from lego at all. Its basically a crappy non-realistic version of an airfix kit

I get the feeling i will end up doing this one day
