  1. Yes it did some sort of communication as it knew car was a VR6
  2. Bought the blue ebay lead off ebay and got vcds lite from the rosstech site. I've run an autoscan on two different cars and both times it came up with -No faults found or Something about DTCs (??) and it gave another suggestions about the connection. I've set the laptop and the software to com port 2 as 4 was in use. Not sure its working right. Also got the same ABS text on both cars, something about too many communication errors. i did take a screenshot of this but its came out showing the wrong window :( Might do it again when i get home, any tips etc? Any way of creating a fault so i know its working, i.e: pulling a connection off something
  3. No time to worry about that, start stripping that golf
  4. I got the whole housing off to do my stat. Needed to remove coil pack and the engine cover above it. Not too bad really.
  5. I made the photo full size on my phone and put my phone on my wrist. Felt weird.
  6. Is the shampoo or anything else you use "wax safe". Some say they are. I would use a hard wax like collinite 915. That's what I use.
  7. Is the lambda hard to get to, iirc it up top of the exhaust right where it meets bulkhead on my corrado. Thinking about taking my sensors and bits with me when i view the car, i have a spare crank sensors, am sure cam one is easy to remove as is the MAF.
  8. Hope Robo22sri doesn't mind me asking the forum. But i'm thinking of buying his VR6 engine and he tells me it has this overfuelling issues. Suspects its the lambda sensor, I don't really mind this as my car has spares on it i can try. Am hoping to view the engine and take down vagcom and my laptop and also might take the maf from my car. Just looking for any advise on possible causes and issues, i don't wanna change my engine then be in a position where i'm trying to find a fault, would rather fix it in Rob's golf first.
  9. I have a late steering cowl in black you can have for nothing.
  10. We should be encouraging higher prices, maybe this guy is setting the trend and starting the rise of the corrado. We should flood the market with £6k corrados and push the pricing up.
  11. Mine was £4k. But that was 7yrs ago. And similar mileage. Car had aircon and recaro leather. I wouldn't want to pay over £3k today. £2k is a bit low but really depends on the car. Bear in mind you could find alot of things start needing replacing and you can quickly plough money into it.

    Wanted VR6 sump

I have a new alloy baffled sump from a 24v. Fits the 12v
  13. I did mine with front bit in place. So still on the front mount. Then swapped and did the front with sub frame back on. ---------- Post added at 6:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:20 PM ---------- Also found it really easy for the beam holding the engine to slip off the wings. Which it did do a few times.
  14. I had some holes and grommets under the abs pump. Not sure if they were all for aircon or not. About 5 inch above chassis leg
  15. Ordered my cable already, waiting for it to arrive. Downloaded some software from Rosstech, Probably going to be fitting a replacement engine soon anyway, but i'm keeping this old one to take apart and maybe rebuild.
  16. It bandages and plasters in a plastic box that no one ever looks at, and i imagine if you were to buy one and then try and show it to people, they would think its pathetic.
  17. I have a different one. Just has a direction of flow arrow on it.
  18. Took this the other day. Then noticed the size thing when looking at the audi Think its a bit of an illusion as the ground isn't level
  19. Got the valve now. Been ripped off. But I'll get over it. They sent me some cheap looking one that's half the price anywhere else. Quick question. Which way do I want the flow to go? Am going to use the valve to connect the throttle body hoses together
  20. Corrados are tiny, its only next to other cars you really notice. More a case of new cars are massive i guess
  21. Might be nice to setup something we can donate towards. A member on a different forum i use passed away recently and the forum end up raising quite a sum of money to be donated to an animal shelter (the member used to help raise money for) Such sad news RIP.
  22. Am after a working non squeaky heating fan. Whereabouts in cambs?
  23. Never been able to get mine out, wonder if its the wrong type. Might try again
