The little lugs snapped off my brake clips. Am thinking of drilling a small hole through them and then tap a thread so i can bolt them on. New heatshield is almost too new. It'll make the others look old now. Oh well i won't be looking under there too much.

Saw an advert for the new series of wheeler dealers. Was lots of preview quick snippets of the cars but couldn't spot a Corrado anywhere :(

Part of the bearing is pressed into the disc so you will need to either carefully get it out or replace. Either way you need to get the bearing race into the new disc. A Local garage could probably do it in a few mins if you can get the parts there.
-
Might be worth looking to replace the rear bearings. You can buy discs with the ABS ring already installed as well.
-
If its the rear calipers then just get standard corrado discs and corrado pads, but use the thinner pads not the 17mm ones.(I'm led to believe) I've just ordered all it of from Eurocarparts, pagid stuff, but not fitted yet.

I think if you measure the how far the glass sticks out on the bottom edge it will help. I could measure some of my late lenses, Its only the glass and the black surround that differ.

Not much to report, but got a couple of parts from VW and started on the PTFE fuel lines. Got a new manifold heat shield, was surprised how cheap they were from VW, comes covered in an oily wax so needs a clean and polish. The old one had rusted through on the mountain points New heat shield for rear of car, would of replaced them all but can't buy them anymore. Been remaking the fuel hoses with PTFE stuff. Am hoping some more brake pipe turns up today, will be able to do quite a bit at the weekend if i get it in time.

Well this is the one i got. Managed to fix the other one.

Thanks, i'm just hoping the car will work again, replaced so much stuff and not really tested anything as i go, i just plan to build it all up and then start it
-
I'll have a look what i have, i did intend to finish car and then have a clear out of unused parts.
-
 I've kinda replaced most of the car, except the fuel pump (honestly its easier to list the parts i haven't replaced). I had a collection of parts so decided to fit everything in one big hit. Has taken a year so far

Not sure if its still the case but you could buy them new from VW. Wouldn't want to pay £10 for 2 tatty ones

I had starting problems so was swapping things. I was doing the maf so just put airbox back on at the same time. Still didn't fix the problem so hoping it's gone away when i get car back together.
-
Same here. Had it on for ages and then went back to airbox and panel filter. Think i will put it back on for remap and leave it on. Any little helps.

Is definitely a moment you remember. The first time of planting it after fitting a bmc.
-
Is just a little bit of metal that pushes into the rubber hanger bit. Came with that. Think it's on all the hanger connections.
-
There are two. Seen them for sale individually. I might have a spare new set. Seemed to end up with 2 or 3 of everything after my engine build.
-
It does just pull out and has rubber bungs so i guess you could move it and add some pipes maybe.
-
Woohoo! I knew you could handle it...

Have you tried turning the carbon body around? So putting it in the opposite end? I know mine only lines up one way, mainly screw holes though. I put a red line on the body and the caps so i know which way they go.

I found this guide nice and easy to follow http://www.corrado-club.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8848

Mine used to do that. I changed pretty much everything (including the complete engine) and it still did it. I could only assume it was to do with wiring or the actual gauge on dash. Am keen to find out if its going to be the same this time around as changing engine again and gone through the whole cooling system and wiring, didn't find anything wrong. Have noticed a few people with the same.
-
Is quite simple in the fact its all contained as it's own system. So you just connect it to brakes, battery and fusebox. But that involves taking dash out, all the seats, lifting carpet and hiding the wiring. Cutting off the brake valve on rear beam. Making new brake pipes and swapping the master cylinder/servo. All quite easy stuff. Just lots of it.
-
I ditched my aircon. It had never worked and I'd not used it for 7yrs so thought i could manage without. Makes the engine bay and wiring much cleaner and gives a bit more room to work on engine.

Have been considering that Evans waterless coolant but still not 100% sure about it. Other than that i was going to use the vw stuff. Got a new block so like the sound of the no corrosion properties of the Evans.
