The Audi Sport.......Cleaned up and looking Good!
jazzdevil replied to rado-steve's topic in Members Gallery
what a great find! brings back memories as i had two of these... one basic red 80 CL (with the same 70's donkey brown interior dash trim) and one bronze sport the same as yours. is that a familiar looking crack in the sunken section of the dash above the glovebox too?!?! the wheels a re new one on me as i had steelies on the 80 and Ronals on the Sport. great car and good fun at the time - my 80 was the 1.8 and a real sleeper at the lights (not that i condone that sort of thing of course  ) they have a ridiculously deep boot iirc - which will fit two very pissed student mates who need a ride from the Metro in Cardiff back to Newport and can't afford a taxi  two thumbs up :thumbleft: :thumb right: -
gah! hope it's only a sensor Kip as otheriwse it's the dreaded ABS Pump as it was with mine :gag:
-
Yeah its a strange one with Raikkonen and kovalainen, i think ill stay clear of them for now  hmmm... i'd love to steer clear of Raikkonen too now, especially as he's one of my nominated drivers - but a c*ck up a few racesd back means i've used up my transfer opportunities and have to just ride it out with him and my other equally underwhelming choices this season. :cuckoo:
-
ha ha... i didn't even realise they were actually on sale in the UK yet until i saw a black R36 estate whip through the centre of Southampton yesterday lunch-time, which in a publicity-like twist was tearing away from an RS4 :D

For those joining on the Ring/Karmann trip, don't do this

according to a mate on one of the Audi forums it was down to critical failure (and then detachment of) the sideblade... so perhaps they really are there for more than just show  -
hi Andy i know several people have commented already, but I have to add a +1 and say that this who saga really stands out as a glowing reason for being part of this little community. if there were annual Forum awards you'd be up there as this years hall-of-famer! :notworthy: cheers, jon

I agree completely, I can't help thinking that most people choose silver now because of resale values... think silver really suits rados, quite possibly #2 on my list after blackberry. You gonna buy RXs for it Kip?! :D :nono: Stop it you evil minx  you know i'd love some but not sure if i can justify them on a daily but i keep thinking of ben's (ex osv) car with them on MMMMmmmmm Nice! in that case, he's some fuel for your fire... :shades:
-
...is that the criteria for age when picking up women again?
-
:D nah, the summer season of the show is always shorter than the winter one... probably 'cos they've filmed it during the winter/spring and the weather is too $hit to get enough footage of out!
-
...which also perfectly sums up why i have a soft spot for Jo Whiley. But honestly, brown bagging it tonight sir? :norty: as several other have said Needell thinks he's great... his results vs. Plato in British tin-tops speaks for itself. Tiff's version of a road test is get keys, start, thrash like a ginger step-child... return one bolloxed and now worthless pile of parts. beardy bloke looks like he was rejected by The Hairy Bikers and Emmerdale :dorky: still, all pale into insignificance next to the wideboy gob$hite that is Mike Brewer
-
try running a stylus over them at 45rpm... you'll just hear manic german laughing and at the end someone introduces them-self as VW's head of parts and says (in German) "ha ha ha the Corrado... that cleared out all those odd bits we didn't know what to do with. Suckers!"
-
haha, not a small rear light, 70's avocado green one was it... as soon as I found out mine had shot through I wapped some filler in it, touched up the paint and she was gone in 3 days* (*the car, not the wife :nono: )

according to the 'bible' that is Wikipedia: The design most often considered to have started the hot hatch genre is the 1977 Volkswagen Golf GTI, (although some considers the first "true" hot hatch was the Simca 1100 dating from 1967/8 or Alfa Romeo Alfasud[1]). The Renault 5 Alpine also pre-dated the Golf GTI, being launched in 1976.

shame that after making a comeback from the dull Mk 3 & 4 years with the Mk5 that VW go and undo all the good work with this monument to a lack of inspiration... i take it that the Passat, Jetta and Polo are all due to be overhauled by a similarly bland hand :cuckoo:
-
surely we should have a 'pink' thread up in off-topica for Dom... stickied of course. hmmm, sticky pink?!?! :nono:
-
yeah, i saw that via Pistonheads a few weeks back... notice that the owner has made all that 'effort' and completely failed to even line up the stripes at the joins! (see a-pillar and leading egde of the door  ) after all that expense the owner is now probably saving for a green tinted Gav & Trace sun-strip :D

iirc they were on one of those Tarrant 'funniest tv/ads' type shows earlier this year or late '07
-
hmmm... i was averaging about 50-60pts per race, so even on that basis you're about 3.5 races ahead of me!
-
...hmmm, a stunning 28points from that race. Prob not helped by the fact that only one of my drivers finished in points... ball bag :(
-
can't see the link as still at work, but i take it that these are rather excellent the US Mk5 Goof ads?
-
my sister got busted for failing to display the disc... she had one of those crappy metal disc holders which have to fight the laws of physics and cling to the screen on about 3 blobs of sticky rubber - said stickies gave out, disc fell into passenger footwell and presto, she got done :nono: like most folks have said though, if you buy the disc online it's normally with you in 3 days anyway

not been to Silverstone for the F1 for a few years now... the only time I've been recently was for the FIA GT Championship and the BTCC. i've done F1 in Belgium, France, Hockenheim, Malaysia and Sydney over the last 7 years, but obviously not as a CF related thang :)

exactamundo :salute: ...it is now giving me deviant thoughts about acquiring a second car and doing it all out in 76-ball orange 8)
