Am I imagining a difference in performance? - Fuel related

Indeed, so running a tank dry will not suck in more sludge/muck as it is already sucked from the bottom of the tank ;) -
Am I imagining a difference in performance? - Fuel related
timmaaah replied to DPS's topic in General Car Chat
Regards the whole 'sludge' thing - the pump sucks the fuel from the bottom of the tank anyway - it doesn't suck it from the top ;) I use Tesco fuel all the time - seems fine to me. I rather suspect that it's the same fuels anyway, otherwise BP/Esso/Shell would be making a big song and dance about how their fuel is 'better' than the supermarket stuff, but they don't :) -
Saw a Bordeaux Pearl (?) K plate Corrado parked up in Reepham market place today at about 2.30pm ish - crystal rears, pressed plates and colour coded wheel spokes and very stretched tyres. Anyone from on here? e: oh yeah - had a sticker on the rear offside saying Scarlett iirc

Spotted a very sorry looking Nugget Yellow one on the back of a recovery truck on Thurs 22nd just outside Tesco in Drayton heading Fakenham way. Only caught a glimpse in my rearview as it went past, but the dashcam footage shows driver door missing and no wheels :/ It was on a 24hr Recovery flat bedded transit. Anyone's from on here?

Just passed a nice looking red one on the Fakenham Road just outside Bawdeswell - gave a flash and a wave :thumbleft::thumbleft:

Dropped littley off at nursery this morning and came back to find a chap loitering near my car. Turns out he's a bit of a VW fan and he's just bought an H plate valver. He was amazed that there was another Corrado in town, and was surprised when I told him I'd had mine for 9 years - he'd never seen it around lol. His is a resto project. Had a nice chat with him and recommended this forum to him.

^^ yeah - the B4 facelift handles are different. I also changed the bit that goes on the side of the doors too - I can't remember why though lol. The bit that latches on the door pin thingy, so my doors can now be child locked ^_^
-
I used the rear handles off a B3 Passatt to de-lock mine, so 1988-1993 or so. I don't know if the front handles with locks fit, but it's a fair guess that they would. I think that the striker pin broke on my drivers handle and I couldn't be bothered to fix it. I think apart from the broken striker it's fine. If you really get stuck and are prepared to pay the postage you can have it. The passenger side handle is fine and has even had the repair kit already fitted - I'm unsure which side yours has broken on!

I used some surface mounted led trip from maplin and changed the mfa film to red - I can take a pic of the illumination if it will help, but it was not a like for like swap as I couldn't find a decent blue film to cover the white bulbs up in the instrument binnacle. I removed the bulbs and film and put in the blue led strip - you'll need to have basic wiring skills, but it is a piece of **** to do. It's nice and bright and works with the dimming rheostat too. The rest of my switchgear is now red, inc the heater controls that are graduated from blue to red on the heat setting. e: a problem with leds is that the beam tends to be quite narrow, preventing a decent spread of light - the led strips have three leds per bit, so get a good, even spread of light.

Huzzah - great when you get them running again aren't they? Who did you use to do the work btw? Where are you (roughly) - I'm out at Reepham :)

Whats the worst thing youve done to ur corrado
timmaaah replied to CorradoDriver's topic in General Car Chat
I recall seeing that pic a while ago - wasn't there a random carrot on the underneath of the car in one of the pics? edit - yeah - it was/is a cucumber, not a carrot lol - posted back in 2007 :suprised::suprised::suprised: -
You appear to have used a potato to take that picture :bonk::bonk::suprised::scrambleup::lol::awesome:

Like I said, I replaced the handles AND the other bit pictured. It was a straight swap iirc. Can't remember why I replaced the mechs as well, old ones may have been faulty. It was so long ago I can't remember lol!

I used rear door handles from a Passat - can't remember what year it was, think it was off a B3. It's an easy, almost like for like swap, although you'll need to secure the wires that will no longer plug into the handles. I'll pop up a pic if you want? It was the handles AND the mechanism (the bit that closes/secures over the pin) that goes on the side/end of the door, so I can even child lock the doors lol

That would be me! http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=77557 I've gone over to 12v leds myself as I'm not too happy about cheapy voltage inverters inside the dash area, but your kit does look good.

Haven't driven the Corrado for a couple of weeks - been using the noddy-mobile (2009 Suzuki Alto 3cyl 998cc 68hp lol lol lol lol). Took the kids out to Burger King today and picked up 50kg of coal that got put in the boot. Dropped the kiddies off and decided to go for a quick "spirited" drive, forgetting about the coal in the boot. Talk about rear-end happy! Berrrrrrrrlimey!!!! Over-steer-tastic! Note to self - remove heavy crap from the boot before going for a quick blat! :bonk::bonk::thumbleft::cheers:

I had awful idle probs for a while - a damn good clean of the isv, a new set of ht leads and plugs and a replacement throttle position sensor seemed to sort it. I also replaced all three of the sensors on the crack pipe. Oh yeah, I've also replaced the pcv thingy at some point as the rubber had cracked. I got mine from Ford as it was cheaper :)

I think fla means this ecu reset thingy here: http://wiki.the-corrado.net/vr6_ecu_reset_procedure.html

I'd be more wary about posting up a vid showing you to be doing at least 65-70mph in a 40mph area than worrying about a gear change tbh :) ;)
-
Ah! I use a spray wheel cleaner on my stainless tip (ooeerr missus) and a green, plastic pot scrubby thing :)
-
I'm really not sure as to what your question is-what is an exhaust suit and why do you want to remove it?
-
More worrying is further down it says This item does not fit Corrado  I used this seller on there: http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/car-parts-market

Daily runner here - rear screen can mist up quite heavily if parked up whilst raining :/ Prolly need to run the dehumidifier in it for a few days again :bonk::)

Heated convex on both sides for me from ebay. I'll see if I can find the item. Easy to do, although I used my existing carriers by removing the old glass. The old flat mirrors were crap imvho. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DRIVER-RIGHT-OFF-SIDE-CONVEX-HEATED-BP-WING-MIRROR-GLASS-FOR-VW-CORRADO-88-95-/370843399314?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ACorrado&hash=item5657fd3492 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PASSENGER-LEFT-NEAR-SIDE-CONVEX-HEATED-P-WING-MIRROR-GLASS-FOR-VW-CORRADO-88-95-/370843398901?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ACorrado&hash=item5657fd32f5 From that seller. They also do flat and non-heated and blue tinted ones too.
