Quick question. How easy are these to remove/replace? Mine decided to split at the manifold end earlier resulting in a rather noisy couple of miles drive home:rolleyes::o:bonk: Any hints or tips or is it easy to do? Can't get ramp access due to the lift being too far away, so will only have jack and axle stands. Cheers in advance :)

Excuse the crap pic. In a bit of a rush as we're off on hols for a few days. It looks cack handed in the pic, but it sits in the recess perfectly :)

I had mine replaced by the local Powerflow (Power and Performance in Honingham) franchise. I had it fitted about 9 years ago and have been very happy with it. They fabricate them to match the one that's there, they're not off the shelf. The exhaust note is spot on, and doesn't drone at any speed. It gives a few pops on the over-run. I was able to select what tip I wanted and at what angle it exited the car. It was also possible to have some say on how loud it was too! I can't remember the price, but it was circa £300 at the time. Powerflow are franchised, so try and get some info on your local one. I'm very happy with mine. Orig exhaust back in 2005 New exhaust. I can take another pic if you want :)

Need to replace the coolant after a recent thermostat change. The VW G13 stuff will cost me about £24, but the equivalent GSF own brand G12++ stuff works out to be much more reasonable at under a tenner. Anyone used the own brand stuff? Cheers :)

Is it this bit pictured? If so, then it looks like part 23 is the kiddy as it shows it pointing toward the top bracket. Part no is 811807577C Insert Nut I've looked and all three seem to be the same on my car - ie the top two and bottom plastic bits are the same.

It's hard to see with the pics, but on pic two it looks like that hose is being dripped on from something above, and judging by the location I would say the aux water pump is somewhere above or near that hose. It's certainly a coolant leak. Have a read through here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=38925 to get an idea about how the system works and what to look for :) edit: on closer inspection the aux pump is not really near that area, but it is close. If it's deffo leaking from the pic you've shown then the coolant pipe may have worn out and need replacing, but if it's running hot, you have other issues. Running hot: The cooling system may need draining down and flushing through, your thermostat may have failed in the closed position or your fans may not be working. Have the sensors failed? Have a good nose through the above thread. Are your fans coming on at the correct temperatures? Have any of the three temp sensors ever been changed? Just a few things to look at. Good luck!

Got to change the thermostat again but I last did it such a long time ago I couldn't remember how. After doing a few searches I found this video that might help other members who need to tackle the same job: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in8zVPDnHQg It's in two parts. Hope it's of some use :)

Good stuff. There may be an issue with the spoiler though? Keep us updated :) -
I would vote, but you have to "like" the page, so no vote from me. Sorry.

You have to take the fog switch apart and pop a small piece of insulation tape over the contact that the rear button makes with the front one. I'll try and get a picture of it at some point, It's easy to do as long as you're happy to take the switch apart :)
-
Both reversing lights as standard and I have also done the removal of the plastic bit for twin rear fogs :) As an aside, you can also modify your foglight switch so that the fronts and rears can be operated independently. I hated the way the fronts came on with the rears, as the rear fogs can be useful to signal to Barry Mc F***wit with his beams on high behind me :)

Each to their own, but what an utter bag of sh1te -_-

Ok, thanks - I'll get theses looked at when I get a spare weekend. Front and rear tyres replaced fairly recently, but I suppose balance weights can fall off lol. Wullie - balance weight on the driveshaft? wossat? Cheers :)

Not quite sure which sub-forum this should go tbh. I've noticed a vibration under medium/heavy load in the Corrado - you can feel it in the seats and through the steering wheel. It's especially noticeable at 50mph upwards in third, fourth and fifth, but I *think* first and second do it too. It doesn't do it under neutral throttle, only medium to heavy acceleration. Can't feel it on over-run, but that's not to say it's not happening though. Any ideas? Gearbox mount replaced 2 years ago (genuine vw replacement) and the other two bushed with polyurethane replacements at about the same time. All wheel nuts tight and pressures all correct. Any ideas? Cheers :)

I had this a few years ago. I changed: Plugs, leads, cleaned the ISV and also changed the Throttle Position Sensor - the last one cleared up the issue. It had thrown up an intermittent error code on vag-com. See if you can get your car hooked up on Vag-Com to see if it's got any errors :) I've owned my 'rado for best part of 10 years and STILL like watching the spoiler lol

I'd also be interested to know as the 'rado has three elements that no longer work.
-
Corrado: Cor - the noise people make when they see one Raaa - the noise it makes when you put your foot down D'oh - the noise you make when something else stops working. Saw the above on here many years ago lol

Will.I.Dib lollers ^_^ Was filing up on Saturday when a guy called across "Nice car mate, don't see many of them about". :)
-
Whilst I appreciate there's been a lot of work gone into them, they really are not my cup of tea at all. They've completely lost the curve at the back of the car, and that, imho, is what makes the 'rado look so nice.

Update - had a proper test in the rain today - the old wipers would start to lift at speeds of about 50mph upwards, causing poor wiper performance. The new arms don't start to lift until into triple figures (done on a private road etc), and I'm, sure if a small spoiler was fitted to the blade (I'm sure I've seen something like that before, mebbe on my old Renault 19 valver?) then it would reduce blade lift at higher speeds. A well worth mod - thanks to the people who have tried this and posted their findings :)

ok, nice one. I fitted the above on Friday and they're so much better than the standard arms. I had to recess my spindle by 4mm in the end. I ordered 2 x 22" blades, but might replace the passenger side with a 23" at some point, as my dashcam is mounted quite high up and I want to make sure the wipers sweep where the camera is. A worthwhile upgrade - £13 for a pair of arms (need a little bit of paint - will do that in the summer prolly) and about 1/2 hour fannying about with washers etc.
