    NOT AGAIN

if the headgasket goes it doesnt necessarily mean that the head has warped straight away so if its not been driven too far it might not need skimming.
  2. you should be getting 4 for £36 though, maybe incl postage??
  3. they're about £5-6 each from VW or places like pw motorsport
  4. i would say probably 2-2.5 depending on the rust spots. however as you're only after a price not a sale i'm going to move it to general chat. if you want to add a price and for it to be an ad just let us know and we can move it back. especially please do that if you get any offers as a result of this so it can all be kept fair for everyone. thanks.
  5. Unfortunately the forum can't take risks on copyright infringements so will have to shut this down.
  6. mytyres look cheapest for that dunlop
  7. impressive! I did that to a tyre at about 75 in the outside lane of the M40 once by getting too close to the edge of the surface and dropping off into the gravel by the central reservation  lucky you werent trying to get around on yours for long!
  8. yes, that'll be just the wheels. i think only one person got them in 4x100 so i wouldnt hold your breath on that front!
  9. Good to see another happy customer. Moved to Suppliers for others to see.
  10. its important to say what size wheels they are - they look like 17s. different size wheels suit different drops in very different ways
  11. hi there, your main question is fine to a point, but this 2nd one is really not going to help you, even if you had given your age/ experience/ points/ location etc etc. have you not tried any online quotes to give you an idea of a standard quote? I'm just saying it because i could tell you my insurance is £500 but that doesnt give you any idea as to what yours will be on the same car. there are quite a few insurance threads already if you really want a vague idea.
  12. you just need to weld 2 vr's together, although that might mean you need a bit of a wider front track ;) I definitely thought that too but assumed it must be the light? i'm sure ferrari will just polish that out as part of the next race prep :)
  13. When you say you keep hearing about them, is that on here or somewhere else? As far as i was aware the only discussion recently was because Corozin had a set he sold to Fla. He only had them because he has the original Nothelle tuned Corrado. I'm not sure how many sets other than his there would have been, or whether they've been available at all since the early days?
  14. it was oil or mpg until i got the mocal and then its been mpg mostly since then. as Jim said in another thread, when a load of short trips mean you only get 250 miles to a tank from a n/a engine then you get a bit preoccupied, like standing on the scales each morning! and that was before petrol went crazy in the last month and I filled up at £1.36 last night (which was not the most expensive at all...)
  15. as i said, not that anyone will want to spend it, but when checking about the pedal position sensor last year, more than one dealer told me that you can still have any of the sensor/servo/master cyl as long as you buy all 3 as a combined item for £££ ie. they're not obsolete, VW are just manipulating us into buying more than we need/want.
  16. If it's the same deal as the brake pedal position sensor then you probably have to buy the servo, cylinder and pedal sensor together for £300+ these days..
  17. £87.50 to fill up the car last night. That was Shell super at 134.9, had already passed a BP at 137.9 earlier and could hardly believe what I was seeing (would have been £89.45..). These were normal town centre stations, who knows what it is on the motorways. VAT and duty rises was meant to be about 3.5p extra but I reckon it's gone up a good 10p in 2 months. Also, it's now at least 22p more than a year ago.
  18. To be honest, these companies run on the basis of everything going smoothly. The reason they're cheap is that they dont maintain much of a customer service function and when they're called upon they probably dont work very satisfactorily. Theoretically if you'd paid the DHL retail price then you'd be getting better service now, but as you didnt these are unfortunately just the potential drawbacks. I had a very similar issue with ParcelMonkey with something getting misdelivered and it took weeks to sort out but it did happen in the end. Frankly, for the sake of £95 quid I would be spending that 10/20/30 mins on the phone and waiting to get through to someone. I dont think its a crooked business, its just a bare-bones operation and I cant imagine that its possible you'll get a more positive outcome from trading standards given the time that would take - someone just needs a bit of a kick to work on your problem which is all that a letter from trading standards would do (slowly).
  19. It linked to the National Day thread on the CCGB forum which John and Ron said they werent aware of Wendy. As they were both members I was pointing out where they could find the date. Not sure what you mean in your second point? My post was back in April if thats relevant?
  20. Ferrari client day it seems - not that much actually going on as they're obviously learning in their very expensive cars... Still, quite some noise even if they are basically race built. Very fast flyby at about 6.45 [youtube:1jki3ssh]lH2XumTliSQ[/youtube:1jki3ssh]
  21. going to move this to the engine bay section so it gets the right attention. cheers.
  22. you should have left it "on" some bricks Jim, safer all round if they cant be trusted with wheels..
