  1. mine does this if you try to accelerate too hard in the first couple of minutes when cold, its almost like it shuts down for safety. doesnt always stall and normally recovers quickly but had to wait with the engine off for a good 30 seconds the last time. i guess its kind of flooding to an extent while on the cold map? actually, i'll let other people do the speculating as i'm really not knowledgeable enough! :)
  2. ouch! £45k new, £10k depreciation a year, eek!
  3. It does the same if I follow the old link I had in my favourites wendy but if i go to the main website (www.corradoclub.org) then you follow the forum links from there then it works ok..
  4. mine did this in the high gears (somewhere over 110 mph right?) and its now turned into a proper top-end misfire in every gear after vince tried to map new cams and a manifold. its not sorted yet but having tried new coilpack and ecu he then found some wiring that looked a bit suspect that he's going to have a look at next time. could also be leads though so try a new set if you can, or any of the fuel issues that tom mentions.. thats definitely what it felt like to start with for me too.
  5. good news, will be looking forward to that write up david!
  6. have got a full size spare with rubber ready for long journeys but yes, makes sense that you'd be able get a golf/passat spacesaver :) cheers for the replies guys!
  7. from what i remember Kev already said that the spare doesn't fit over the 280mm rear upgrade so i'm assuming it wont fit over 288s at the front either will it? just thinking that i'll take it out and give myself more room if its pointless it being there.. Cheers John
  8. thought mine was too loud when it first went on, especially as it made bits of the car actually resonate at certain revs :D you soon get used to the change and then you'll just smile a lot when you do really rev it! 8)
  9. enough of the self-deprecation tom, i fully expect a "monster corrado" to emerge from your shed one day that would put the golf here to shame.. oh and graham, sooo jealous, would love a car as amazingly rejuvenated as yours, quality work and dedication.. :salute:
  10. i drive past a clio v6 on the way to work with the plate V60 YES, which sounds llike "V6? oh yes!" in my head :)
  11. yeah £700 extra for a 1 vs any other single digit number is a lot but keep helping me justify it phil! am trying to forget that it would pay for new suspension, or to fix all the paint on the car, or insurance on a bike.. etc etc...
  12. am trying to decide how much of a rip off an F1 plate @ £1299 is... my surname does start FI but even so.... :(
  13. thanks for the heads up on the "F"s :) been waiting for these for years!
  14. sounds like a load of arse to me but, ignoring the fact that he can't add up, i'm sure there are more than 10 on this forum alone..
  15. i do have a bit of an issue with valencia and here in that the uniform barriers the whole way round make it hard to recognise different parts of the track. theres no external distinguishing features to relate to - valencia because its in a completely deserted area and singapore because it's dark. monaco is in a class apart from that point of view. that said, singapore does look a lot better than valencia, more dramatic because of the interesting track lay out and playstation effect of the lighting. cant wait to see peoples attempts at overtaking :)
  16. damn, was hoping to read about the new "nurburgring edition" :D
  17. bad luck karl, sounded like you were all sorted a long time ago on that, got gazundered on the place that I was selling recently - thought that was the more common thing these days.. :( aaanyway, glad its running and hope you made the final steps today, hope to see it sometime! john
  18. glad its still pushing the right buttons goldie! lots of cleaning on the cards then? dont take too long over it, can't have karl having all the fun now :)
  19. Cream dash 8)[/quote:1lvry0sm] it's worth a thought.[/quote:1lvry0sm] lol as if you havent thought it! :) looks amazing nikki, really suits it so much! just make sure gav keeps his oily hands away from it now
  20. agreed! think it looks pretty good although slightly bulbous front bumper.. would be interesting to see the 2 side by side, and the price of the golf.....
  21. i think they're not the most flattering pics to be honest, makes the arse end of it look massive! in the flesh its always looked great but it does seem to have lost a lot of its mods in the last year?
  22. and one i saw at the dealers today, looked good in black..
  23. link to H&R lowering kit story h-r-volkswagen-scirocco-004.jpg[/attachment:1w7wgxvn] cant decide if it looks a bit odd, a bit too low??!
