  1. Why not use the 20mm shorter front bumpstops from the Golf?
  2. The seats, or the end plates? Just a thought - what diameter is the top (tapwered end) of the spring in relation to the top plate? the early cars had a larger radius at the top and wont work with the later (smaller diameter) top plates.
  3. A shim was used on mine - came in a VW box, but was old stock. Fitted between the trailing arm of the beam and the stub axle.
  4. Seconded. Plus, as you can stand the car on it's nose using these things, going the braided route seems superfluous...
  5. They fit behind the 16" Audi 5-hole (as fitted to the old A3 turbo) nicely, if you can get hold of a set.
  6. Did i not mention? The 1st time I came to take the caliper carriers off I used a 1m-long bar to provide leverage. And a handy piece of scaffold pole. And a hydraulic jack...
  7. The top spring plate is needed if you're using conventional suspension. Whether or not it's needed with coilovers depends on the design.
  8. Any engineering supplies firm that sells small quantities will be able to help you out. Ask for Allen key bolts as they all come in high tensile steel. On reflection those plates might not fit due to the way the caliper carrier is machined.
  9. Welcome to the Forum. Have a read though various and you'll realise that you're not alone... PS. How sorry a state, where, and how much???
  10. Nice! Where do you get those and how much are they?
  11. Make sure they're high tensile steel bolts...
  12. Yup - all 4-cylinder Corrado's
  13. If there's no beam pattern, it suggests the reflectors are corroded/peeling. Replacement units is the only answer if this is the case. Wipers sounds like the ball-joints on the linkage have worn out. The one on the end of the motor output lever is the most likely culprit and costs less than £10 from VW.
  14. Well, there's the problem straight off...
  15. 3 years old? I'd be delighted if they are...

    DRAT!

New rear shocks required on account of the Koni t/a's leaking... Customer in the garage asked if I'd accept £5k for the car as is. Wonder if I could fund a 24v-engined project for that...
  17. If the balance weights have been knocked about the wheel won't wobble, but the steering will shake at speed. If it's only when braking, start inging about the disks being out of true, or wheel bearings with a problem.
  18. I have Powerflex rear bushes on mine. I would recommend fitting genuine VAG items. The rear most bushes on the front wishbones however...
  19. You want? I have... PM me.
  20. You want? I have... PM me.
  21. "Repair kit for water guide plate left rear" 1h0 898 019. £1000??? I'll do it for £100 including parts...;)
  22. Including the spacers for the caliper carriers?
