Almost finished the sub box, still got to do the grill, been doing lots of other bits too, more pics to come

http://www.frost.co.uk/body-roller.html I used one of these- it's pretty good for most of the stuff and you're not working looking up all the time!

Wow that's so clean underneath! Mine was over-sprayed underneath from factory with a bit of the mystic blue but your stonechip has either been re-done at some point of you just can't see it because the Silver is less of a contrast? Whatever though, it looks great- well done, especially doing it all on axle stands, that's no small effort!

Chris Langdon's Moonlight Blue VR6 thread!!!

Glad to see this back on the list of things to do, looking forward to seeing your progress.... -
Hi Chris, search 'usb car socket' on eBay buddy and you'll see it listed, you can get it on its own or with other things like the cigarette lighter socket. If you look at the green band on the cig lighter that lights up at night you'll notice it's sunk into the black plastic, I turned the outside diameter of the USB socket down to fit it into the counterbore nice and flush, you don't have to do it but it looks loads better imo.

Fibreglass trimmed and inner faceplate made yesterday Applied more layers today and put faceplate on. Still to make cover plate and grille, put carpet and connector on.
-
Thanks guys. Probably 6 maybe 7 layers, it's on 3 at the moment, but I'll keep going till I run out..
-
First few layers. Came out fine, no need for any wax or anything, the foil tape was brilliant.
-
Wow clumpy, isn't this a case of frying pan to fire!! Not my bag but I can see the appeal!! Congratulations[emoji481] You getting those ch reps?
-
Thank you both for the kind remarks!! I will try and get to some shows but my house building is still ongoing and very slow being only at weekends, I have to demolish my garage soon, hence the push to get stuff sorted on the Corrado asap!
-
Yeah it's for the sub enclosure. The dynamat type looking material is just silver foil tape I've used instead of the usual blue masking tape. I'm using beeswax on the foil surface but I'm not too fussed if a bit of tape sticks to the fibreglass.

Got this in the post today..

That's very kind pal, not sure that's actually the case though I am guilty of sitting and looking at the car contemplating changes for absolutely ages!!

They have an adaptor to mount into the original bulb position.
-
Ha ha[emoji1], I asked for that!

Yeah, perhaps I should make it clear though, that my wife is neither ugly or irritating!

Isn't the back of the projector going to stick out the back of the case? If so how are you going to seal it? Don't forget the reflector inside the casing moves to aim the light. Also, one of the main benefits of projectors is their ability to disperse light evenly and across a very wide arc, by planting it so far back you're limiting the sideways projection to the angle of the reflector. Still it certainly looks more oem than my attempt!

My Mk5 2.0tdi 140 has been utterly reliable- never gone wrong with tons of miles on it, it's a 58 plate on 165K, it's brisk enough. I'm selling it because it's so bloody boring. Diesel never again (unless I get a T5) It's like having an ugly wife that just wants to please you all the time and never puts a foot wrong, it just gets irritating. Still could have been worse, I could have bought that silly petrol 1.4 superturbocharged abortion.

Yeah split conduit mate, didn't want to have to take all the plugs off! The t-pieces etc work well with it.
-
Love the RC's, not a fan of RS's but I know I'm in the minority there! Looking forward to more wheel pics! I say each to their own on the grill, I've got a colour coded and black one, I prefer the black even though the colour coded is original on storms.

Do Newtown Commercial make magic carpets?

Whilst the interior is out, I thought I'd make a pattern for a sub enclosure. Every time I get into the Corrado from the Mk5 I'm always disappointed with the stereo, even my wife who didn't even notice when she had a flat tyre (don't ask!), did notice the crap stereo, actually she asked me why it was broken! So I'm doing a stealth install. Just a simple 5 channel amp one right side of boot and sub enclosure on the left side. Here's the beginnings of the sub enclosure.
