  1. Very kind words sir, thank you! It's not everyone's taste, not even mine some days, but I like to think that if I've changed something it's done as well as it practically can be done. Just got my ECU back from a remap at Stealth, what a difference! I still have to go up there for the rr session though. Finally after many years, no more fault codes 😎
  2. Thanks pal! So easy to do too! The only think I don't like is the USB socket has a blue LED light, I need to change that to green!
  3. Yeah they are full face, but they are dished unlike the mono's which go the other way and look a bit odd on the corrado i think.
  4. Looks like VAG are just buying a uk based F1 team like Mercedes did, although the powertrain will be German I suppose.
  5. Yeah I've been looking for another cheap set of wheels for the winter, they look good but they'll always be 'reps' though. These are quite nice for cheap wheels. No better than the reps in quality though!! http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=271648700856 Edit, sorry scratch that I think it's a mistake on the listing, don't think 17" are available.
  6. SSW Speed I think mate, nothing special, but light.
  7. Here you go pal http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=141109462036
  8. Unfortunately not, they are too small on diameter! So it ends up being a lot more involved which is why I've not done it yet!! I'm actually going to have to machine off the entire flange and have a new one welded on, with both 5x100 and 5x112 hole fittings. There are a lot more wheels available in 112 though so it's just about worth it!
  9. No, but it's still on my to do list, just got to get the hubs drilled....
  10. Thanks pal, the glovebox ones were really easy to fit too, take glovebox out, quick holsaw, wire them up on the bench with some tails to hook up after you put the glovebox back in, all done inside 1.5hrs easily.
  11. Time for an update... I was all set to sell my Corrado at the beginning of the summer, but then we've had lots of planning issues with the house/garage so I haven't needed to. I've decided though that I'd like to bank some cash and sell one of the other two cars we have so that means the Corrado is set to become a daily over the winter. So that's led to me putting a few things right that didn't matter much as a sunny Sunday car. 1. Fix sunroof, it was sitting 3mm below flush in the passenger side, turns out the guide slot bracket thingymajigs were bent on both sides, so I stripped the whole sunroof down cleaned and re-greased and now it runs super smooth again. Haven't put it back in but should now sit flush. 2. Headlights! You might have seen my posts in another thread but I've been working on retrofitting some projectors into a spare pair of headlights, so far so good. It's an attempt to get some better lighting without looking too different from the oem headlights, as I don't think modern looking lighting suits an old car. This is far from finished, still got the washers and self levelling to do. Halogen on the left, HID with projector on right. I've now got bulbs that are less blue, still to put them in though.. 3.Windscreen Wipers, They juddered and were slow and missed etc, so new blades, new motor, cleaned and re-greased linkage. Now they are like new again! 4. Bluetooth. I really like my Alpine head unit as I think it fits with the 90's dash but I wanted some kind of wireless link to it for music and for hands free. So I bought a Kinivo, which basically acts as a Bluetooth interface that plugs into the Aux in on the back of the head unit. There is a big button that also houses the mic and I've put it in the centre console. 5. USB charging points. I've got rid of the cigarette lighter and put USB socket in its place, so now if I'm charging something I don't hit the cable when I change gear[emoji1] 6. Cigarette lighting socket,USB, and volt meter in glovebox. Having got rid of the one on the dash I didn't want to be without a cig socket totally, so I stuck one in the glovebox, also coz I had a spare I put another USB in there- handy for leaving phone charging whilst out of sight I suppose. Voltmeter? just because it came with the USB socket! 7. Put LED rear indicator bulbs in my all red rear clusters, now they actually shine amber instead of red! https://vimeo.com/110626132
  12. Those wheels look awesome! This is going to be a very nice Corrado. Well done.

    HID's

We'll see, I'm not sure how this will turn out either!! I just want lights that work well for me and don't blind people the other way, but I don't want them to look like they are aftermarket. Retrofitting projectors is the only way you can fit HID's with good results, and it's something I've been wanting to try for a while but the cars going to become my daily so I thought I'd crack on with it. The self levelling is fairly easy really, I can use my existing headlight motors with it, and run the sensor off the rear beam like the brake compensator.

This is all I have at the moment. I'm in the middle of changing the bulbs for less blue ones and doing the relay loom so the lights are out again..
  15. First thing I thought of was 205 GTi too!!

    HID's

Yeah I will do, as soon as I've finished fitting the lights and wired it up properly, I'm just waiting for bits to arrive in the post at the moment...

Thanks Fla, you won't see much benefit in light output from a relay loom like you would with a halogen setup, but you'd still reduce the load going through the switch which is important. You need to use a 5 pin changeover relay anyway though, because the hid setup has only one filament where there are normally 2 in the h4 bulb. You have to use the high beam to activate the shutter and keep the low beam filament on by using the relay. Hope that makes sense!!

Thanks! Yes the same rules apply, it's technically not legal because the headlight is e marked with a particular type of bulb. But then that also makes anyone with led indicator bulbs illegal too! Here is what they look like installed

    HID's

Hi Roger, sorry that should have read "Shown below are the beam patterns, HID on the right, and halogen on the left" Please note standard HID conversions without the projectors are nothing like this, they have a much worse pattern than a standard halogen bulb.

    HID's

Well I'm still getting there, I'll do a write up if the results are good enough, the initial tests seem promising, and the projectors are not that noticeable in the headlight. Shown below is the beam pattern hid on the right and the halogen on the left. The projected HID light is still way better (for cut off and spread) than the reflected halogen, even through the flutes. Need to get 4300 bulbs instead of the 5k in there!

The fluting on the glass is vertical so it doesn't mess things up that much, and it's still a much better cut off than a reflector housing can offer. I've been experimenting on an old set of headlights, I'm trying to make an oem looking pair of projector headlights like the Rallye had. I'm amazed at the quality of the Projectors for the amount of money they cost, you can get them for £28 on eBay now! Chinese hid projector in Corrado housing Projector pattern on wall in messy garage With fluted glass in front
  22. Are you sure about that Sean? I remember someone else saying on here that if you didn't have the original engine with the car it was easier to pass the emissions test. I'm not saying that you are wrong, just that I've also heard differently.
  23. Hi Sean do you have the parcel shelf supports? Also I'm after a passenger side undertray that goes between the wheel arch liner and the front chin spoiler.
  24. Thanks Clumpy, important point for Anna though, because lets face it no one's going to buy one that's worse quality!
