  1. Part number 049 127 311 This is the O ring the fits behind the support bracket that bolts on to the engine block, which holds the supercharger. They are made out of Viton rubber which has an operating temp of -25C to +200C. So ideally suited for this application. This is not a genuine item, as they are obsolete now. But I believe these are equivalent to the original if not better. £1.50 Posted first class to your door.
  2. You would be better off just getting new rings, as the old ones do tend deform when taking them off. And you don't want to find out later on there is a fault, only to strip the rear discs again. Are you putting in new bearings?
  3. VW heritage can get them, I got mine from there earlier this month
  4. I think this fuse is for the radiator after fan fuse. Get the car upto temp, and make sure the fans kick in as normal. With the fans on switch off the engine, and make sure the fans are still running. There is probably a better way of testing the after run of the fan, by jumpering the sender unit.
  5. I thought Samos were an upgrade over the standard ones. Has it blown due to age of the hose, or has it been rubbing somewhere.
  6. Does anything stop working when the fuse blows? I did think fuse 15 was for the spoiler
  7. So managed to get some derlin bushes turned for the tensioner. Gone for a 2 piece bush at the top and a one piece bush at the bottom, if anyone else would like some please get in touch.
  8. Alright the pill key, wish I had one of those. But the prices are a bit to rich
  9. I would like to see a picture of said key, don't think I've seen one before
  10. I've got Vagcom mate. PM if you want my details and pop down for a scan
  11. Thanks, will get on that straight away.
  12. I laugh in the face of the 'pick of the crop VR6' hahaha :-)
  13. Top work going on, I would love to take the engine out of mine at some point.
  14. Wanted just one stud mount cable tie, that are in the engine bay. I cut one, taking it off, and then worked out how they are meant to come off.
  15. What do you mean by 'also seat the bolt through it properly'? Also If I was to machine them out of aluminium, would this make for noise and vibration from the engine. As the original ones look like some sort of plastic. So I would have thought they would absorb some noise, or is this negligible.
  16. They look nice for £80. As for tyres cant go wrong with some Toyo T1R
  17. I am in the process of removing my charger to repair an oil leak, and I was thinking of replacing some of the bolts that I have taken off for marine grade stainless steel ones. Would there be any problems in doing this? it will be only the bolts that hold the charger to the brackets and some of the pipe work. The original bolts are only torqued to around 18ft/lbs.
  18. Finally managed to find some time to investigate into this further. Trying to get access to union from underneath was near impossible for me, so had to go from top which was probably the best option. After removing the charger bracket to get access to the return union I found this under the bracket. I did not realise there was hole there that was meant to be sealed off with an O-ring behind the bracket. To me this looks more likely cause of the slight leak near the return line, don't you think? Think I will replace the seals on the bracket and the return line, just to be sure. Also anyone know what this condom type thing is, behind the bracket and should it be there?
  19. How important are the buses in the tensioner arm on G60? And are replacements or alternative bushes available?
  20. Managed to get the original rubber fittings off the old brake hoses, and refitted them to the new braided hoses with out cutting them. A bit of hassle getting them off, but its doable. Just in case it helps somebody else out.
  21. Thanks Sean, That's a bit rubbish, would have thought they would have come with them as standard. Well I guess its no point sending them back to the supplier, will see if I can get the old ones off and re use them.
  22. Sorry, I forget not everyone is sat in front of computer all day. LOL Will be more patient in future.
