  1. If you switch the ignition on, you don't have to start the car and feel the aux water pump. You should feel it humming away like a good one. Once you switch off feel it again it should carry on humming for awhile.
  2. Is the leather still there around the screw, as in is the material still flapping about? If it is, i would be tempted to take the screw out and lift leather slightly and stick it back down with some super glue. I think this will take your eye away from it, unless its a full on show car.
  3. Are you sure the whine is not coming from the auxiliary water pump? as that's near the throttle body. Is the whine still there after you have switched of the engine, for around 10 to 15 mins?
  4. But it would have fixed the whine of the fan :-)
  5. I had a Cobra 4138 alarm fitted last year with microwave sensors, instead of the ultrasonic sensors usually found on the A pillars. The microwave sensor is hidden away, so gives a cleaner install. Its just set up for remote locking and full closure. Think paid just short of £300, that was to remove the old immobiliser and alarm. Which were 2 separate modules fitted in 1993.
  6. Really didn't realise that, scrap what I said above.
  7. Couldn't get one complete kit, had to buy 2 which came to less then the customs ones and it saves the hassle, of getting the custom ones wrong.
  8. Thanks for the Link Dox, but that's for 312mm front brake callipers. My brakes are all standard apart from the rear MK4 callipers, are you saying the company's you listed above will be able to make me up a kit with the hoses that I needed only?
  9. Does anyone know the Lengths of the 6 flexible brake hoses? I want to upgrade my standard hoses with the braided ones, but because I am fitting MK4 callipers I need to buy 2 kits. Found company that will make custom brake hoses, to any spec. So I could do with knowing just the lengths of of each hose, more importantly the conversion hoses for the MK4 callipers.
  10. Only one way to find out, is to have a go at it. What's the worst that can happen, either get nosier or stop working altogether.
  11. Well done for sticking with it, sometimes you just have to walk away and come back another day. When I get frustrated with the car, I go and read some corrado build threads to get motivated again. :-)
  12. I would also be tempted to put the old callipers back on. But without the hydraulic hose connected and see if the handbrake works
  13. Well if the handbrake isn't locking the wheel, sound like a faulty calliper. Is this on both sides?
  14. Can the wheel be turned when the handbrake is up?
  15. Right, well with motor dangling you would have thought it would work with switch and spin the motor. Have you metered the connector to see if you are getting the right amount voltage. You could also just power the motor on the bench, just to make sure the new one is fine.
  16. This is just a guess, But close the sunroof manually if its already open or tilted on the car. Connect up the sunroof motor, but don't fit up in position. Press the close button on the switch to get the motor back to known good position. Fit the motor into it housing and try the switch.

    Help with wheels

Love it, what was the final offset you ended up with
  18. I see, we'll I would have thought they would fit. But weather they work well is a different matter. Probably best measuring the length of them and the corrado ones, I will try and get you the measurements of mine. Unless anyone knows the lengths off top of there head.
  19. Is there a reason for fitting the MK3 items as opposed to the corrado ones?

    Looks well, side shot please.
  21. It was probably on Dubforce or Volksdevil, I've PM'd the seller before but got no reply back. Have a look at this video, I've tried this method in as taking the tension off to see if it would work. But i haven't got as far as removing it yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpuk4IY0Urg
  22. It's number 18 in the bottom pic, I've got it off now. There are 2 different parts for this. One is for cars with ABS, the other is without. Good news is that it's still available from VW. That part sits on the stub axle, you can see it the pic, partly covering the bolts.
