haha. that was after a hectic night out, couldnt find a hotel/B&B so 3 of us slept in the 'Raddo. one uncomfortable night!
-
well a garge is going to charge you £100 just to look at the thing, and then another £100 if you want them to tell you whats broken, and another £500+ to fix it, so a new engine sounds like a bargain, especially one for £100!
-
 i dont do normal, but heres me getting ready for a sleep in the car after a night in bournemouth....
-
hahaha he has all that money and buys a car like that but cant drive for Sh*t!! says it all!! maybe he'll take himself on some advanced driving courses before getting in his Chelsea Tractor!!
-
what did i tell you about chewing that old box of bolts....
-
obviously something is shot enginewise, 2nd hand 16v engines arent exactly rare/expensive and its got to come apart to fix it anyway, so just stick a new engine in it.

Accident last night. Ongoing advice needed on claim.

sounds real scary, something i always wondered about cyclists, why the feel the need to fly round corners and LEAN onto the other side of the road??!! just so their head is level with my headlights ?? glad both of you are ok. -
yeah thats where the filter is. costs next to nothing, and takes about 10 minutes to do.
-
i think a similar thing happens when the engine is switched off and you put the headlights on (2nd position) so maybe there is a loose connection somewhere. im sure someone else will know more...

god bless Audi!

looks good Phil nice one. -
dad had one of these, lovely car. really good build quality with a 20vt too. heated seats air con etc. gave that to my mum as he couldnt bring himself to sell it and bought a jaguar XJ SE. which is REALLY nice, massive inside and not a single squeak/rattle and no road noise either. plus its a V8....
-
and arent those pics of the lysholm charger in that link showing it fitted upside down ?
-
ive got one fitted to my G60, cant rate them enough. much better than a G-Lader IMO. and despite what you hear from other people the noise is not really loud or really annoying at all. by the time you are in the car and driving its silent (nearly) and is usually drowned out by the rest of the engine noise and exhaust. the only thing that i can think of against them is the £1500 price tag, but when you consider that 3 rebuilds on a G-lader will cost you £1500 its not too expensive. +the power delivery is smoother than a Glader. i would say you could come for a drive in mine to try it out, but the car is in bits at the moment...

go on then. put me down for one. ill come and pick it up when the rest of my stuff comes in....

Yandards' 16VG60 - Running Report 23 Jul 15

interesting, may still fit one of those in the future, but still prefer the 'look' of the standard 16v inlet as it looks more factory imo, and looks good polished up. im hoping to make power gains in the other areas, such as a well flowed head and larger valves, custom cams etc. but no doubt ill get curious and fit an RPM manifold. Only thing that put me off getting one as a spare was the fact i was told RPM can be a bit lazy when it comes to delivery? how long did it take to arrive from Germany or wherever? -
bung an oil cooler on it.
-
cost me £1800 on my first corrado when i was 19. now im 21 it cost me £1100 all mods declared, compared to £2400 on my charged VR6 golf. £3500 per year on insurance....i must be mad....

looks good. is there any capacity increase or is it staying 1800 ? it will be interesting to see what results you get to compare the chopped down S2 inlet to a scirrocco 16v inlet like im going to use. ill take some piccies of my engine when i next go to the garage. what alternator are you using there ? -
!! good job ive only got a G60 then.....oh Sh*t!! i told em to build a 16vG60, better phone em up again!! lol. £104 isnt too bad really tho is it? after all you are getting 16 metal cylinders AND loosing that annoying sound!
-
hehe just come back from the garage to see how my corrado is doing, and got 34MPG out of my supercharged VR6 golf!! and i didnt drive it like a granny either! NOW THATS ECONOMY!!!
-
mk3 build is amazing! mine has no rattles, squeaks, or any sort of noises coming from it. but i hear the 8v's are a bit slow, whereas like Phil K says, the Mk2 is more fun to hack around in but is more rough around the edges....
-
think its quiet hard to smooth a G60 engine bay, i can see a lot of work went into the one above but....it still looks too busy with all the boost pipes and cables etc. its easier to do with a vr6 or 16v as they are just one chunk of metal and you can easily hide all the unsightly wires etc away frrom view...
