  1. Just seen this on another forum http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=132392 I know plenty of re-branding goes on in the detailing industry but never thought the high end manufacturers would be up to it...
  2. That was a gift from a very close male companion and I'm comfortable with my sexuality. Oh and they were Nissan Figaros actually
  3. S2000??? If you don't stop trying to gay up all my threads I'm going to report you to the site admin "Loepan" if that even is your real name
  4. I can't help you with your actual question James but I can tell you I had loads of grief getting my 17" RH ZW1s over 312mm with Brembos. Even now clearance is really tight
  5. My boss had a T5 Estate when they first came out early - mid 90s and what a car that was back then. Must admit my tastes aren't quite so exotic - various 40s 50s 60s yanks, Citroen DS Decapotable, MKI Escort RS, RA Celica ST2000 Liftback to name a few. Not exactly performance/exotic/dream car genre but dream cars to me
  6. Hahaha G0ldf1nger I thought it was just me that was like that about certain cars - I really like TVRs and Range Rover Sports, would I ever buy one? Not in a million years. Same as M3s - awesome cars but just never really done it for me. I don't really understand worrying about depreciation it's not something I've ever considered. If I want something I buy it I couldn't care less what it will be worth when I'm finished with it. Although I've kind of got my heart set on a 911, like Mic - I change my mind more often than my pants so who knows what I'll end up with? RS4, Chesil Speedster, 54 Chevy, 32 Ford Roadster, Turbo'd AWD Corrado, the list is endless...
  7. Ok so following on from my previous thread, let's say you had £25k to spend on a car what would you choose? You don't have to buy just one car, nor do you have to spend all the money on a new car - you could buy a new set of rims for your Corrado and blow the rest on prostitutes and cocaine if you wish  So come on - where's your money going?
  8.  Depreciation doesn't bother me whatsoever and never has done but this will be a keeper anyway. I'm not too bothered if it doesn't rip my face off tbh as I'm getting on bit now so it's not like I'm going to be caning the arse off it, more gentle 60mph cruising for me these days :D Cheers for all your input gents really appreciate it
  9. Yep seen two at that price range Coullstar and at least half a dozen below £20k but wouldn't really want a "cheap" one. The decentish looking cars start at 20-22k up from what I can see
  10. FFS Mic - DON'T!!!
  11. Your first paragraph is pretty much exactly how I'm looking at it Mark. Ideally yes I should wait til 997.2s are in my price range but I know waiting 5 years will never happen. Agree with you and Coullstar re trying before you buy as well and I'm probably going to hire one for a weekend to see if it's really what I want before I part with my cash. Yeah I understand what you're saying about the price of upkeep but speaking to a few Indys it doesn't seem a lot worse than any desireable car, but I know it's not going to be cheap The only reason I'm looking at 996/997 is because from what I can see a decent aircooled 911 is way out of my price range :( I've seen 997.1s available for just over £15k Jim. Insane money for a car of that calibre.
  12. I do actually really love those Supras - fantastic cars. My neighbour had a white one when they first come out. Thing is though, it has to be a 911. Wanted one all my life and this may well be my only opportunity to own one so I think I'm going to have to just do it! This weeks short list is 996 C4S or 997.1 C2S - both seem about the same sort of money
  13. I quite like the interior but I do agree it's quite dated now, especially compared to the 997 but I suppose it's near enough 20 year old technology now. I've pretty much convinced myself now so I will probably end up with one in the near future. That is unless I see a very nice RS4 Avant in the meantime. Oh and I've found somewhere to keep the Corrado so will hopefully be able to keep that as well. Who knows - if I find a cheap enough 911, I may be able to turbo the Corrado as well - everyone's a winner
  14. I must admit I'm not really that bothered about the engine issues really Portent - any car you buy could have any number of issues and although there's a lot of internet hysteria about it, it's still a less than 5% failure rate, so if I do go ahead I'll keep my fingers crossed and if it happens it happens. I'm looking at the upper end/independant Porsche specialist trade end of the market and I'm not in a massive hurry so hopefully I'll find a good one :)
  15. I deleted it out of respect for Karmannski
  16. Ok nice one cheers Hassan. I'll have to have a look at that
  17. Er don't worry Chris I didn't read the OP and thought Stuart was saying Heritage stocked leather doorcards
  18. I can understand that tbh Chris - probably wasn't a lot in it back then. Plus I always assumed the Corrado was VWs "Porsche".
  19. Oh right. Well in the unlikely event of me ever selling my VSR it will be going to one of my mates for less than market value so I won't be cashing in.
  20. Sorry Michael don't get what you mean mate?
  21. I know what you're saying Matt I just don't feel comfortable after Karmannski has put so much work in to his. But I suppose it's a free market so people can make their own minds up. He may even say sod it - I'll save myself the hassle and have a set himself. I'm just happy that either way it will hopefully stop people cashing in on "rare" items
  22. Ok I'm really sorry Jim I haven't been on here for a while and I honestly thought last I read Karmannskis were dead in the water. I saw these and thought it might help the boys out but I don't want Karmannski to get done over so maybe it might be best to delete this thread?
  23. When I got my car back from the body shop the blower motor was making a terrible noise. Had a look yesterday and found the little flat bonnet earth strap tangled in the motor. It's back to being nice and quite but the speeds are all messed up - 1 and 3 seem to be about the same speed, 2 is really slow and 4 is normal. Any ideas?
