  1. I think he just meant yes your engine could go pop but you could have a crash, you could get knocked down by a bus, you could mistakenly pick up the Deep Heat instead of the Anusol etc
  2. I know :( Incidentally I've just seen a good point on PH - yes your engine could go pop but there's just as much chance you could smash it up....
  3. Oi Chris - they're £300 each side and you have to go through me OK??? No worries boys it's nothing to do with me I just spotted that and know a few of you are after these so thought I'd stick it up here for you. Right so that's bonnet foam and roof trims - anything else you need finding? :D
  4. I've been reading everything there is to read about them believe me  The general consensus seems to be any of the likely issues the early cars were likely to suffer would have been sorted by now. 911Virgin even recommend buying higher mileage cars rather than the lower mileage ones for this very reason. Not really a fan of the Boxster so if I do make the jump it will be a 911. I know what you mean about the age thing Coullstar but I actually prefer the older ones, ideally if I had the money it would be a 964 or 993 Oh and cheers for the love Fla :)
  5. Haha tell me about it Mic - I've wanted a 911 all my life and may be in a position in the near future to realising my dream but I go from turboing the Corrado to a set of cams and a map, to selling it and buying a 911, to keeping it and buying a 911 repeat ad infinitum. Even considered an A4 3.0 TDi Cabrio (easy one to get past the mrs) but I would say that ones off the menu now. The main sticking point for me personally is the amount of work I've put into the Corrado and also I really detest selling cars
  6. Haha Chris - I'm probably the only Porsche fan in the world that actually really likes the 996 :D Especially the C4S
  7. Tbh Jim I wasn't really meaning how do they compare as such, more like you say - it's a logical step up the ladder - how many of us have done it and what's it been like sort of thing...
  8. Yeah I understand it's a completely different league but just wondered with the price of 996s so ridiculously low whether it's actually worth the additional outlay to make the step up as opposed to say going turbo route with my VR. Always fancied a 911 but I must admit having a really sorted Rado to surprise the odd Porsche owner really appeals too  Love the Cayman Mic but just wonder whether I'd spend the rest of my life thinking "I wish this was a 911"
  9. Just wondered if anyone on here has ever made the step up to a 911 from a Corrado? If so, how have you found it - would it be considered a wise move? I see so many people on here sell up who don't seem to be away very long before they end up back in a Rado just wondered if many had gone through it with a Porsche....
  10. Hahaha EJ I love your rants mate
  11. It was done by the previous owner Chuggs but I have used it on something else myself and in a word - no! Preparation is everything - everything has to be absolutely spotlessly clean before you start to do anything with no trace of previous products. I used surgical spirit to clean and it seemed to do the trick but it did take a while til the cloth was coming away clean. I may have gone a bit over the top but it's not cheap stuff and I wanted to make sure it was perfect. The term less is more has never been more appropriate here. Oh and the microfibre you use to but the excess off - bin it! It will be full of tiny quartz crystals which will ruin your paint if you use it. Keep hold of one of the make up wipes and you'll see what I mean :)
  12. My trim was done with GTechniq C4 before I bought it (3 years ago), I haven't put anything on it since and it's still lovely and black even now! Fantastic stuff
  13. Cheers lads - it's getting there :D Yeah it's Lamin X Gunsmoke Rob
  14. Haven't updated this thread for ages. Been doing a few bits and pieces but nothing too exciting until recently when I visited Lemass Automotive and had the bonnet repaired and washer jets removed, had the front bumper smoothed, wheel arch cracked paint repaired and the tow eye removed...
  15. Was always GKN Löbro when I was in the motor trade
  16. TRW do indeed make the power steering racks amongst other things. GKN are OEM quality CVs Jim you won't go wrong there mate
  17. Febi quality varies massively. Depends what bits you are after really as to what manufacturers are OEM ie Sachs - clutches, Hella Bosch - electrical etc
  18. Brilliant cheers Ian much appreciated :) Whoevers bits you're waiting for - get your arse in gear, cheers
  19. You won't believe the difference having your speakers solidly mounted and playing into a well sealed and deadened door makes mate. I've just built mine so the Audioscape pod goes over the top as a sort of vanity cover and had loads of dramas doing it, the first time I fired it up afterwards though made it all worthwhile! :)
  20. Exactly what I do. Then pull out, fly up behind them and sit an inch off their bumper
