The Fiat is gone :shock: :shock: :D The first person to see it bought it and for a reasonable £2K. I've managed to talk her into a polo. Hopefully gonna look at a metallic grey 1.4SE tomorrow. Then I'm gonna deck it and try and get some RH Cups for it, weather she likes it or not :lol:

Really sorry to bring this up again, but..... I've finally got nothing to do this sunday, so must get it fitted in a day. I'm not too worried bout the "plumbing in" element. But am bricking taking the bumper of. cos I don't want to undo the bolts for the cross-member and have an engine on my chest :oops: :oops: Anyone got a little bit of info, on the total fitting process. The 16v are well sweet, but go for about £500 more than the normal one's. Granted, personally I would go for a 16v, but I don't think she has the extra £500 for one. Thanks for all the advice already and I'll let you lot know as soon as I get her one. I just want to mod it!!! There's some smart Polo's going about! Not sure if she'd let me bang a G60 or VR6 lump in it though :lol:

@Dinkus and vwdubs :lol: :lol: I've just got her an insurance quote and there's only £2 worth of difference between the 1.6 and 1.4. But it will save her about a £150 over the fiat. @ Storm classic I think from the look of it I'll keep an eye out for a 1.4. Is the 1.6 that bad on fuel then?

I'd like her to have a C but think the insurance would be a bit too high for her. She's already had a Ka, she thought it would be a good idea to modify the front end with the side of a bus, hence insurance being a little prob. I also tried to get her to think bout a Mk2 but shed like something a bit newer. The Polo is at the top of my list at the min, and I'm bringing her round to the idea of a Dub. Seen a really nice Black 1.6GL and white 1.4SE, both round the £2k mark Anyone know what they're like?

No probs at all John. On my part I should have probably PM'd storm about it. Anyway, I'll be finding out soon if the engine mount needs replacing so will be possibly purchasing one.

Sorry to cause offence John, but I was talking about the door parts. This was only going to be done in some spare time at work as a favour and to see if I could do it, with some spare material I have. I have no disire at all to start stealing your's or anyone elses business or ideas. Anonther thing is, I doubt that with the properties duralumin has, it would make a good solid engine mount. (I'm a fracture and fatigue technician, so get to brake various metals everyday). The thought of the making an engine mount, never crossed my mind. I don't have the knowlegde or enough time to make one, never mind a batch. Hence why I'm always mailing people about parts and advice for on what to get and how best to tune my G60. If you remember on the Sticky, for your custom made products above, I was enquiring about buying one. At the minute my car is having some pre MOT work and I think the mount is gone, hence why I might want a new up-rated one. Hope this doesn't affect my possible purchase of one?

@Storm If you have any dimensions, or a drawing of some sort, I could have a go at making a few. I have a few bits of duralumin laying about in my lab, so could have a quick go. P.S. I'm not wanting to steal any business or hijack this thread. It's just that 16vG60 is usually well busy.

I'll keep that in mind about the gunk. And yeah white is a pain, but it's cheap to get a re-spray. As for the catch tank, Bling! What about using one of those cheap fuel filters you can get from a motorfactor's. There about £2? Or when I eventually get round to ordering one, I've spied a little filter from the air compressor at work that would do it. Then again is the Lucazade bottle does the trick, why bother. Plus it gives the car 33% extra :lol:

I've gotta get mine as clean as that!!! Probably wait till the engine is out to do it properly though. Cheers Dan P.S. Where is the pipe going to from your rocker cover. It looks like you've had the boost return done, so is it leading to some kind of catch tank?

I must admit, I really like this C. How do you get the engine bay that clean? Steam cleaner? If so, do you need to cover the alarm, alternator and dizzy?

Sounds like a pretty good quote. I thought the G60 was a group 17?

Mine did the same on saturday. Just turned out to be low oil, top it up and it'll be fine.

I think the one's used in x-flows over here are usually found on the new beetle, like mentioned and some Seat head can be used. Haven't got a clue about the codes though??

The supra is one of my fave cars. All anyone has to do is watch getaway in stockholm 2 and everyone will want one. I just couldn't get insured on one for less than £3K :oops:

They're awesome in a straight line, just beware when booting it round a corner. Also massive tuning potential, well over 500bhp is capable. But like vr6storm said, running and repair costs make the C look cheap.

I never got chance to see it, it had been sold. I asked how much he got and it sold for £1700, must have been in decent condition. Oh well, just have to keep looking. Thanks for the replies RACK

Insurance companies don't have a clue :lol: I don't want anything from it, I'm too busy throwing money (and tears) at my G60. :cry: :lol: She just mentioned she'd like a golf, so I got excited and started looking. It will seem fast to her, so that will be ok. Also have you ever been in the back of a cento? The rado rear seems huge compared to that :lol:
