Congrats on the new additions to the family, especially the wee man! They do change your perspective that's for sure, but you'll be out there tinkering and teaching him soon enough I'm sure. It's certainly something I'm looking forward to with my son in a couple of years..... he's not quite safe with real tools just yet (only 2 years old atm) I'd love something like the S4 as a daily but I do so few miles these days it'd be hard to justify. Enjoy mate!

This is a barn find to end all barn finds...... (if you're into American muscle) http://www.gasmonkeygarage.com/no-1-and-no-2-firebirds-we-cant-make-this-sht-up/

Phil, you still got your modernlines?

I'm actually running 17's, Rota's with an et35 offset, but I don't use the car daily so put up with the harsher ride for the aesthetics! What's the 24v had done to it? Very impressed it's running 240bhp.

Group Buy Feeler: Reproduction VR6 Silver Grille Badges (Update P3)
mic_VR replied to Jim's topic in Group Buy Feelers
Impressed you're braving another one of these group buys mate. I'd definitely be interested if it had that OEM brushed look as you say, rah her than a shiny chrome -
Agree with Jim. The general consensus on here is that 16's are the best compromise on the rado if you want bigger brakes and retaining the handling. 17's add a certain harshness to the ride but with thinner stiffer sidewalls on the tyres I find they add a certain crispness to the steering. Whereas the 15's restrict brake size, IMO look too small for the car, and you get a bit of ballon tyre wafting on track when pushing on. Maybe see what some of the other track guys are running on their cars.

Depends what wheels really. I've got 304mm AP racing brakes on mine and they'll fit under certain Motorsport 15's like the compomotive mo5's etc. the standard wheels are very restrictive due to the fact they have low spoke clearance and the actual rim is very thick

Like the inversion on the digital readouts -
Welcome to tbe forum, is the plan restoration or mods?

'Clear light conversion with HID's'?

£2.6k! That's so cheap, maybe mines worth way WAY less than I thought!
-
Tell me about it! Doesn't help that the tyres on these are the wrong size for a Corrado which means changing those as well. The OP won't have an issue though, these a great wheels and one of my all time faves on a C.

Be very surprised if it's pushing out 245bhp! Having spoken to Vince in the past it seems that 230-235bhp is max for the 24v unless you go for cams etc. Looks like a nice car, and at a reasonable price for a change from a dealer...... although if this is the price of them now I guess mine is worth a bit less than I thought!

Love these wheels, shame I have no space or spare money at the moment
-
Agree with Chris. Really glad to see this car again on the forum, one of my all time favourites

Must say I'm with David on this. I really dislike Fords.... but I'm not sure why. I have heard good things about the new fiesta though so I'd suggest getting a test drive and decide for yourself. I've also always found the dealers near me to be pretty good with test drives as long as they have the relevant model on demonstration.
-
In my experience, and except for pockets of resistance.... Yes.
-
All the oil will have run out by then I fear since its at least 15 years before the earliest Corrado reaches to new moving classic date! Road Fund Licence doesn't massively bother me. It's annoying yes but as soon as I have my garage I'll only be using it 6 months of the year.... and definitely not as annoying as the fact 62% of the price per litre at the pump is tax.
-
My first thought as well. If they don't believe its a head gasket what do they think it is? The great thing about the 1.8 16v engine is that 99% of the parts are still available from VW or Audi because it was so widely used. I'd be looking at a sticking thermostat first, then work your way through the system, Only so many things it can be. Don't give up just yet!

Good luck mate, I hope you find it I tried to find an old car of mine recently and unfortunately the dvla can't give out any useful information. I've still got an open thread on vzi forum but no luck in the last 4-5 yrs. Would love to find it. Hopefully you'll have more luck.

I'm a big racing fan over many formats. But for me, if you want big plums and hard racing, the most exciting is motorbikes. Some of the motoGP can be a bit of a procession but the British Superbikes and the Supersports championships are so close it often comes down to last laps! [video=youtube_share;RoZZ9I8DhLw]

Hey mate, you down here more permanently now? We should have a meet up if we get a chance.

Strength is always the issue on reps. Agree with Kev though, they look really good. Might refurb my CH's in a dark colour....
