Here I have for sale an incomplete set of OEM Beru red ignition leads. The set comprises of numbers 1,3,5,4 and 6 ......... no number 2. These leads came complete with a random black number 1 in place of the missing number 2 on my current VR. The leads are in very good condition and the car ran perfectly on them but I have since fitted a blue set. Asking price is £25 plus post for all five or £5 plus post for individual leads. If anyone has a spare Beru red number 2, get in touch.

Glad it all worked out OK Ben, many thanks.

Probably not terribly relevant but the photo below shows a 195/45 on a 16 inch Porsche rim. Try to picture it half an inch smaller all round.
-
Both are in very good, undamaged condition with the 'felt' edge that sits against the glass being totally unmarked. Please be aware that these are not the trims that clip onto the door cards. They are the trims that sit on the inner edge of the window slot which would be the inner metal skin of the door. Unfortunately, due to the 93cm length, they are classed as a large parcel and would cost £12 to post using Parcelforce 48.

I have an immaculate control unit which I removed from a VR6 Golf which I'm breaking, working perfectly when removed. Part number is 1H0 907 379 C ........... the onus is on you to check your part number and see if it will do your job. Photo available if required. There is an identical unit with the same part number on e-bay at the moment which is listed as compatible with your car. It is listed at £69.99 .............. I'd be at half that price, £35 posted.

Update list of available parts.

Specific door mounts were made for the Corrado by a company by the name of Audioscape which unfortunately has ceased to trade. Their door builds were designed to allow the fitment of the larger 6.5 inch speakers and can be mounted on the door using the existing screw holes. They came in two versions to suit the early or late cars and still appear fairly regularly in the 'for sale' sections of various forums. The early version had no provision for mounting the window switches as the early cars have the window switches on the door card. The later version came with a hole in which to mount the window switches as per the later car which has the switches on the door pocket. It isn't too difficult to adapt an early set to accept the window switches as per the later car if you use a little imagination and are handy with the tools. The photo below shows an early set mounted in my late interior car using Mk3 Golf window switches. The Golf switches are a direct fit to the Corrado loom, easier to fit and to my eye, a better looking switch.

They certainly are not that price. I've bought numerous sets from that source and the price has always been £6.99. When I posted that link last night the price was £6.99 .......... I've no idea where the extra £50 came from.

I think that you will find that the resistors are 50 watt, 6 ohm ............... just do a search for 50 watt and keep it simple ............... everybody loves a smart ass!
-
The simple and inexpensive fix is to use LED bulbs with the relevant resistors to make them flash at the correct speed. Using green bulbs will work to a degree but I never found them to be anywhere near bright enough. Use 102 SMD LED bulbs in conjunction with 50 watt resistors. Stick the resistors to the rear of the bulb holder with a number plate sticky and join one wire to the BL terminal and the other to the 31 terminal (either to either, it does not matter) I have included a photo of a set of Mk3 Golf bulb holders below which I modified, the principle for the Corrado bulb holder is exactly the same, use the BL and 31 terminals. I have also included the e-bay links for the bulbs and resistors I have been running all reds with this modification for over three years and have yet to be stopped or failed an MOT test http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-Car-1156-382-BA15S-P21W-White-102-SMD-LED-Tail-Brake-Signal-Light-Bulb-DC-12V-/370793075782?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5654fd5446 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-50W-load-resistor-for-signal-indicator-stop-led-bulb-/310224123640?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item483acc76f8

Is that the bolt at the top that the back rest clips onto when in the upright position? If so, I should have one here OK, I'll check this afternoon and get back to you. If it's the correct part, you can have it for the price of the postage.

As a general rule of thumb, standard fitment VW wheels use radius bolts while after market wheels use tapered bolts. If your wheels are four stud, you need M12 x 1.5 bolts. If your wheels are five stud, you need M14 x 1.5 bolts.

I'm breaking a VR6 Golf at present and the heater control panel, minus the actual knobs and face plate, is available for spares if you can work out how to dismantle yours. Let me know.

I had the same problem as the door strips were badly faded compared to the wing and quarter panel. I simply masked up the complete door wing and quarter panel, using masking tape and newspaper, leaving only the bump strips exposed. I then thoroughly cleaned the bump strips with two pack thinners on a grey scotchbrite pad. Once dry I gave them a coat of plastic adhesion promoter on a soft cloth, this ensures that the paint will take properly. The final step was several light coats of matt black aerosol paint. Allow the paint to dry and remove the masking, job done. After a couple of weeks I lightly sanded them back with damp grey scotchbrite to flatten out the finish and applied a couple of coats of wax polish. This was done approx. 6 mths ago and the finish is still perfect and showing no signs of fading. Plastic adhesion promoter is widely available on e-bay of from any car paint supplier.
