Woohoo! Not long now then.

Yep, that is how I've got mine wired. You can start adding resistors etc if you want to retain 3 speed but I didn't bother in the end.

Another vote for toad ai606, had 2 now and both absolutely spot on.

John Mitchell JMR Ltd 4WD 16V Turbo Corrado Build
swiftkid replied to 16VG60's topic in Members Gallery
Absolutely love seeing development of the corrado, after all these years it's nice to see people are still looking for upgrades. Especially love the 4wd, something I'd like to do eventually -
I hope you emptied the pringles can before... And good fun? :s you and I have very different ideas of fun!!!

I've seen quite a few plastic water pumps fail, with teeth breaking off but I still prefer a good quality plastic one to a metal one. If the bearing goes on a metal one it's going to do some serious damage compared to plastic!
-
It's completely off a pot so I reckon if you just primed it you'd know if injector was working. You can easily hold the rail to check, just get a washing up bowl or 2 drinking bottles, only need to compare 2 injectors. Unless you want to be really thorough and scientific and do all of them!

Ngk for plugs Quantum 10/40 if you have a healthy engine and don't go thrashing it Fully synthetic 10/50 and your engine is either getting on a bit or you like to thrash it and see regular high oil temps. Best bet is to have a read through the oil advice thread as people have much better advice but that's what I would advise

Lol, I told you I'd come up this weekend and help sort it!

I may well take you up on that offer! my bay is a right state. Oh another gem I've found whilst scavenging in the scrapyard for R32 bits, Obviously the VR6 brake vacuum pipe doesn't fit so I found one from a 1.8 20v non turbo fits absolutely perfect, just needs end spinning round to fit. It might not be what you are looking for as its not very 'smooth bay' but I'll try get a pic if I remember -

Looks good that! Did you use compressor or just rattle can? -
I'm in same boat, car gets driven once or twice a month during summer so battery has died

24V Renshaw - 24V V6 - Just read the whole thread!!!!

He did say he'd broke it, sold all parts and scrapped the shell but also saw him say he still had it... I wouldn't be surprised if it comes back at some point -
Rolling Road Day @ Stealth Racing - May 22nd
swiftkid replied to VR6Pete's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
I thought as much but I thought I'd ask, already had my vr remapped but wanted the new r32 remapped, no point getting a rr figure without the map as it's a stock r32. I'll have a think but might be up for this -
Rolling Road Day @ Stealth Racing - May 22nd
swiftkid replied to VR6Pete's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Do you know if he can do remaps on the day as well or if it's solely rolling road day? Could do with getting mine done so would be nice to kill 2 birds with 1 stone -
I don't think the fans need to be on for it to run after engine is switched off, I think it just runs for about 2 minutes providing it's hot. In my experience the aux water pump is the most temperamental part of a corrado, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If I were you I'd get multimeter out to check voltage, rather than listening for it running.

unfortunately the engine mount wont fit around that oil cooler without modification. The mk4 & mk5 had different oil coolers, the mk4 is smaller and more like the VR6 and also I found the pipework clashed with the power steering pipes. I decided to use the existing oil cooler and modify engine mount (similar to pic below but without the extra bit) but mk4 oil cooler would have fitted fine. I had intended to swap the oil cooler over to the mk4 style and put the standard engine mount back on but there isn't much room to get any sockets in with the front end built up so got put on hold. Oh and if I were you whilst engine is out, swap that outlet core plug just above the oil cooler to a blank, its a bit more difficult when its half built up!!! -

Nice bit of progress! What you doing about oil cooler/engine mount? I ended up modifying the engine mount, not sure why but I bought a vr6 oil cooler, a 4mo oil cooler and I've got a mocal... Yet I chose to cut the engine mount, I do question my intelligence at times -
Apologies, I may have been talking crap. I always get mixed up between k-line and immobiliser. I think that purple one is your immobiliser so I'm presuming your new ecu ends in cp? I'm just looking at what the other wires do. The yellow 2 wire plug should connect to the lighting loom and onto the rad fan controller
-
The yellow connector with 2 wires is aux water pump, the black is k-line (diagnostic) and I can't remember the others off the top of my head. I'll try remember to look tomorrow. I'm guessing you'll have a 2x2 diagnostic plug so you'll have to swap over to the 16pin one Just use the full loom and should just plug and play, shouldn't need to splice anything
-
Not a problem, maybe subconsciously your brain was actually telling you to go 24v :norty:
-
Yes, it's not threaded though just notched so you can move clip to adjust
