Yea I converted the loom myself, I had bucket loads of problems but my loom, touch wood, actually went spot on! I've had to add more wires since the initial installation to get fuel trim working but that is just teething problems and to try get the emissions right to pass mot

Stealth no longer do it unless you take car to them, UM don't answer... Any form of contact, South West in car technology (swict) do them but a few people have had bad experiences - likewise I've heard some people have had good experience. Rubjonny on clubgti does them but his waiting list is mental, about 6 months or something, when I was doing mine he was always very helpful and knowledgeable so that's probably why. And Andy outhwaite at acr does them, heard good things but not first hand experience. Otherwise get brave and do it yourself, all the info is there, hell I did it myself and I'm an idiot at times.

Carriers, calipers (if you don't already have 288mm brakes), Hose with banjo fitment (late mk3 golf which uses 288mm will do fine), discs and a spacer to centralise the caliper to the disc, from memory it's a 6mm but can't remember.

I'm betting the imbalance is related to the brake load sensing valve, cover it with wd40, leave it overnight or at least for half hour, undo the adjustment bolt and just move it back and forth to free it up. Mine had seized up as well, just needs loosening up and thats an easy one. I'll put money on the lambda being MAF related as Lambda's rarely go. Warm the car up to running temp, unplug MAF and see if engine note changes, if it does MAF is fine, if its doesn't take MAF off and clean with electrical cleaner (not WD40!). Brake pipes aren't too bad, get yourself a brake flaring tool, some copper lines and stainless ends and make them up yourself. Honestly, years ago I would have been happy with a list like that! I once came back from MOT station with my first corrado with a 3 page fail sheet!

VR6 misfiring problem - all cylinders firing, but down on power
swiftkid replied to Reverend Frog's topic in Engine Bay
Obviously check the above but definitely worth taking out spark plugs, checking them and cleaning them up if necessary. Have you unplugged MAF when warm? If the engine note changes and splutters you can tick that off the list as thats working. -
Friggin hell, I'm going to dig mine out from bottom of my bits box and put it on the mantlepiece, that's going to be my retirement fund!

Both rears on mine finally gave up the other day, completely fell to bits so on the lookout for some more. Think I might save the extra pennies and try upgrade the lot

Tornado pink it is... such a fantastic colour when its been polished but pink when its not, yet flash red seems to be flash orange at times!

Aaron's VR6 - is now R32'd - that sweet, sweet noise! (Page 20)

Well depends on which type you want, I was determined to use hanging, I didn't want to drill into the floor. 1 good thing about A3 engine is you can fit either pedal. The wiring is just 6 wires from ecu, this should be part of ecu to fusebox loom. Have you got the full loom uncut? The fitting of engine is easy, it's the wiring that is a nightmare but at least if you do it yourself you'll know it's been done right Your not a million miles from me either so your welcome to have a look at mine, that is if I havnt pulled it apart -

Ahh gutted, I have 2 of them now! The one good thing about the 3.2 is that you can use either floor mounted or hanging pedal. What do you mean you don't have DBW pedal loom? As in you don't have fusebox loom or someone has cut the loom short? I have plugs for both floor mount or hanging if you need it. Yea I spliced it all myself, I wrote a DIY guide in the r32 conversion thread but I've had to do more since then. I ended up wiring up the SAI, evap canister etc so no fault codes (except rear lambda's), which means adaption! Standard VR pedals are cable, only way I know of is by using alfa throttle body but no point really, just use a DBW pedal. -

What 3.2 have you got? The tt I reckon is the best for the conversion, the A3 (sadly the one I bought) is the worst! Vince advised to get the immobiliser removed then once the conversion has been done and ran in, get the codes removed so actual real problem can be addressed and not accidentally coded out. I kept the 3.2 oil cooler, used the vr6 engine mount and just cut and rewelded it. You can use vr6 oil cooler or if you have the smaller mk4 style cooler just use the vr oil cap and get away without modifying the engine mount. One thing I found with the mk5 style cooler was that the water pipes rubbed against power steering Hose. I actually got some flanges made up and used most of the vr6 downpipe and just used some spare exhaust pipe to fill up the gap -
Black temperature sender help probably simple...
swiftkid replied to britpop95's topic in Engine Bay
Just monitor water level and oil to be sure. Hmm... Seems a bit odd, there is no connection between black sensor and mpg. I think black and blue temp sensors are same plug, havnt got them wrong way round by accident? -

Nice step forward, r32 is quite a beast compared to vr but you do lose a bit of that vr noise. Currently trying to decide whether to go vrt on my old engine or turbo the 3.2 If you need any advice on r32 conversion give us a shout and I'll try help out -

Possibly, I seem to recall something about vw changing blue temp sensor to black, might be a mixed up sensor? -

Unplug the black temp sensor, if that stops fans kicking in contact heritage and tell them you have a duff sensor -
your mates car is getting more attention than yours! Looks in very good condition and Red looks fantastic, and I'm not biased at all. Definitely think the rear wiper wants removing and maybe lower it a tad

Just a heads up for anyone looking to either get or upgrade their jet wash, just bought a Nilfisk E130 from amazon. Screwfix had them for a while at £200 but went up to £300 before I got chance to buy one, amazon now have them at £185. Mine arrived yesterday, looks a right nice bit of kit and read good things about them so looking forward to giving it a try! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nilfisk-130-3-9-PAD-Excellence-Induction/dp/B00HKCE660/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1444045568&sr=8-7&keywords=nilfisk

Blackberry corrado for sale at Derbyshire Specialist Car
swiftkid replied to ChrisL's topic in General Car Chat
Wow! That is strong money! I do hope corrado prices are on the up... Not that I'd ever want to sell mine -
Well not much to report other than having a drive occasionally. Been on holiday and bought a house this year so spending money on the house. Hoping over the winter to rip it apart again and get stuff painted, plated etc. So looking forward to that. I can also confirm that 312's do not fit under brock b2's :-( does anyone know what brembo's/wilwoods/hi spec calipers are like in terms of outer clearance? Still on the lookout for new wheels, as always!

Should be same if its et15, give it a measure to double check. You got any pictures of them fitted? They will look wider without tyres, I can get you a dimension from arch to wheel lip on my car if you want to compare?
-
The dish on the rears look wild! they look to have more dish than my 9" borbet A's. Whats the et on them? I reckon its less than et15. I'm running 9x16 et15 on my vr6 with slightly pulled and rolled arches and they sit fine, poke a little but they fit.

I've read a little about boring out and seems it is quite expensive for not a lot of gains. As said above, overrun suggests top end rather than bottom end. I didn't notice any smoke when I was following you a while ago, is it blue or black smoke?
