  1. No idea yet mate, I'll worry about that later  I don't think it will go up by much, they would just want to know the power increase so I'd imagine a few hundred quid maybe? When i got a quote on mine i was told £700-800 with all mods included (wheels, suspension, exhaust, air filter, audi 3.2 engine running upto 280bhp). thats a 22 year old with 4 years no claims. I thought that was awesome price! Depends on insurers though, some class it as the car the engine came out of while some class it as kit car or similar i think. Will be good if you could do a list of what needs doing as i would really like to do it next year, gonna be a bit sad seeing my 3.2 leave but i can now spend money on uprating to 312 brakes, getting paint done, coilovers and some nice wheels. that reminds me i STILL need to start a members thread lol
  2. i was tempted to give it a sneeky bid but i think i've had enough of working on cars for a while. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/06-Golf-GTI-2-0t- ... 2|294%3A50
  3. you do make it sound awfully easy, ill buy another engine next year and try it. how much did you get your fpr for by the way? you should make a list of all the things you need for the conversion, it seems people do these conversions and then realise along the way they need other parts. i bought the engine, then went white when i heard about the fpr because i have no idea about them, but luckily the audi engine doesn't need one. looks good progress though, very neat and tidy as well!
  4. has anyone noticed the corrado 2.0tfsi for sale on ebay at the moment? drool!!! i want that car!
  5. I've literally just sold my audi 3.2 engine for £1500 with 30k on the clock. seems a tad high for 53k, the mileage isn't a problem against these engines but you have to compare it to the fact that for some reason people are binning them/getting them stolen/setting them on fire within the first 10k miles. There was about 5-6 r32 engines on ebay a while back with low mileage for less than that. Ill have to post this in the definitive 24v thread but make sure when you are buying an r32 engine you get BOTH looms (ecu - engine, ecu - cabin) as they are next to impossible to get hold of!!!
  6. Right, i've got a cobra 5801 alarm on my car and i've been scowering the internet looking for some information on it but not even the cobra website has any information. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them and if they are any good or if im just best ripping it out and putting a different alarm in.
  7. only ever seen it on jbob's corrado, would need some modifying i would have thought but take a look http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39989
  8. I drove it!!! first time since i've owned it, feels good to be back in a corrado. havn't tested the handling yet because its still on standard shocks and springs so its like a boat, can't wait for coilovers now!
  9. thats including vat and they didn't say anything about fuel so i would assume thats included
  10. APC don't do pallets and id prefer to not use an ebay seller to send my engine. tried dhl and they want £102, anybody know any other places to try?
  11. Well the idle on a VR6 isn't exactly stable at the best of times from what i have read. I have a slight hesitation as well, whilst cruising it feels like it is cutting out but doesn't, jus slight staggers but is fine on acceleration. I think seeing as you have just bought it a good service might do it the world of good, try the spark plugs, ht leads and inspect the coilpack first.
  12. Ill have to have a measure up after work, but its an audi v6 engine so i think it is something like 170kgs, the size of the engine as an estimate would be about 800mm x 800mm x 1000mm
  13. yea, think i should be able to get a pallet. and yes its going within the UK
  14. Right guys, think i might have sold my engine but the guy is over 4 hours away so it needs to be sent on a palette. anyone got any idea how i can send the engine and who with, its the r32 engine so it isn't exactly light, took 3 people to lift so reckon it may cost a fair bit. Any help as to the procedure for sending would be good, thanks
  15. go on then, do tell... edit:    hahaha http://www.zazzle.co.uk/corrado_tshirt- ... 7168628172 that is just a total grammar :epicfail:
  16. I was just thinking that, coincidence... i think not. Its fate, fate i tell you!!! FATE!!!
  17. I have and you couldn't even quote me. 22, with 4 years no claims on another policy so this one calculated with no no claims, for a VR6 now paying £780  you tried adrian flux?
  18. I've just had my car in for MOT and the fuel filter was leaking, sounded similar problem. Could see any leaks but was pretty rainbows in the rainwater, so checked it and the plastic cover that surrounds the fuel filter was catching the fuel then dripping with a little bit of vibration.
  19. if your getting 18mpg out of a valver you got a problem! my old valver saw 40 something but average was about 33-37. My current VR6 has seen 0.6mpg which was genuine, although that problem has now been solved :D
  20. why don't you ring the 5-0 and get them to confirm it for you? if you explain the situation they may be able to provide you with a cover note perhaps to present to anyone the does pull you.
  21. swiftkid

    which rims

don't like clearly fake splits so i vote the bottom ones. I don't mind convincing splits but wheels like that look weird with them, last ones look alot more tasteful
  22. maybe not helping, but have you been on dubpower website? their exhausts have been designed to look as oem as possible
  23. does anyone know if the newer Audi TT arms and blades fit? been offered a set for cheap and im unsure if they will fit or not. the part number is 8j2 955 407 a & 408 b if its helps
  24. :D I may have to add an evo somewhere on that list though... im sure my shopping car (espace) could be replaced
