  4. It does seem to be that way for many years, lots of pointless comments on threads and time wasters, i think it has become too popular with time the e38 crew have done a good job with the classifieds in getting rid of the useless adverts. there also seems to be alot of scene tax aswell.
  5. As said already second hand compressors would be better investment. The older compressors also have better quality receivers as they are built from thicker gauge plate, which ever compressor you go for, remember to drain the receiver regularly to get rid of the condensate or buy a air dryer.
  6. Just had a look on their website, there's quite a few under £200, but that wolf looks good, 50 litre is a good size to start, 9.5 cfm is pretty good and will power most tools. I would also change to the PCL type coupling or schrader type.
  7. Have a look at machine mart, they sell Clarke compressors, they are very good quality. my oldest compressor is a Clarke and its 39 years old and still going strong. if you are looking to use it with air grinder, look at the air consumption then choose a compressor to cope with otherwise the compressor will be running all the time and may struggle to keep up with the air flow.
  8. bushes pivot in a u bracket mounted to the chassis, the rear beam maybe ok just looks to have lots of surface rust, i would clean it with a wire brush on the car for a better conclusion, before you goo ahead and replace it, or do what quite a few of us do on here, buy another VR6 rear beam get it shot blast then powder coat it. and if your original one is ok, sell it a recoup some of the cost.
  9. Ask your mechanic for a better description or even if he could show you the issue he found, it maybe that the chassis that goes over the beam to the rear bumper mounts that is rusting. get a definitive answer before you replace parts unnecessarily, could save yourself some money aswell. Matt

  12. Nice shut lines, you could loose a child down them. and the best quote "Lowering springs have also been added to give the car the correct ride height" for off roading yes. haha what a pleb
  13. Have you spoken to your neighbors to see if they had any issues with their extension, they maybe able to advise you on how they carried out their extensions. Matt
  14. If you can get a piece of hard plastic pipe or sheet, wrap this at the point of cutting, this will act as a guide giving you a smooth clean cut. A large retractable knife is best, as they're longer than the old Stanley blade. or speak to Dr evil he has sharks with lasers on their heads. Matt
  15. Bill, Is it too late to jump aboard for 1x 70mm lip? Matt
  16. Here's a pictures showing the oil cooler, 'red arrow'. replace the seals at the front and rear of it part numbers rear + 038 117 070A & front 038 117 070, and have a look at the coolant pick ups on the crack pipe, as these sometimes fracture at the base. Matt

  20. I will have a look tomorrow, see if I have them still, if not the part numbers are N 014 545 2 (8off) & N 102 771 03 (2 off) should be around 60p each from the dealers. Matt

  22. KW V1’s for sale Dampers and springs are both in very good condition, all the spring seats are free running, the locking grub screws are all present and not damaged. The threads are lubricated regularly to prevent seizing. They come with all top mount rubbers, fixings and C spanner. I’m selling due to upgrading. Please note I have repaired one of the broached hex’s on top of the thread, this was due to the hex being nearly rounded off, so to make it easier for future fitting , I brazed in a new Allen head, this has no affect on performance of the damper, the only difference being, it is now 8mm longer. Please don’t let this put you off. I still have the original box for postage. £350 delivered to lowland address or cash on collection from Braintree, Stansted or Basildon. Regards Matt
  23. According to ETKA, only the non VR6 models have this shown on the front wishbone diagrams. I've also not come across this, but then I've only ever worked on VR6's
