  1. Last week I was trying out some spacers on the rear of my car; shoved the jack under, undid the wheel bolts and removed the wheel. The car fell and was caught by the wheel as I removed it, just about held up by the wheel arch on the tyre - I hadn't lifted the jack!!! What an idiot, I could have seriously hurt myself not to mention the car!!! We all do something stooopid from time to time....!
  2. Jesus Kev, is that tyre dressing I can see?!?! - That won't last, lol. Good to see you back in the game mate; presumably you got through that house move finally..? M.
  3. I bit the bullet also and forked out for the fully dongled Ross Tech cable which in turn gives full VCDS functionality. With the amount of electronic gubbins and gadgets on my A6 daily it's been one of the best value tools I've purchased. Mark
  4. Who's scirocco is that on the right hand page of the third spread Eric? Can't imagine why you'd have bought that particular issue... ;)
  5. Sorry, I see -it's just upside down, lol. :)
  6. Isn't that an offside indicator?
  7. If you go down the route of a repair kit, I'd advise you use our very own dave16v rather than risk the 'bay...
  8. I bought a macbook air when my acer died and haven't regretted it once. Ok, i've always been a mac fan so am admittedly biased, but they just do what they say on the tin. It's true that if you know how to extract it then a PC will perform as well at virtually half the price, but I like to just get in and drive! For me that makes up the value right there, also after 3 years my acer was worth literally 50 quid; the same age macbook will go for £5-600 on ebay....

    VR6 Grill Badge

Avoid; the red foam seems ill advised and a self adhesive foam-core sticker will not attach itself to your grill for a worthwhile length of time...
  10. Emerald have a good reputation, but I think pretty much everyone here will tell you to just go and see Uncle Vince at Stealth...
  11. Andy I have a BBS tool for tightening the centre caps; the type that looks like a giant spanner, the OEM block type are shi*e! I just tighten them by hand and use the tool to nip them up so someone can't undo them by hand and have them away. The thread is such a large diameter you'd really have to be going some to break it, so be sensible and you won't have a problem. I got my 'spanner' from Zak who now seems to have disappeared off the forum but I've seen them on ebay a fair few times... Mark
  12. That's a bit weird, how can you confuse the brake pedal with the clutch....? I bet that was a track day type event and the instructor was trying to teach left foot braking - it didn't help the instructor was screaming like a panicking teenager, they were surrounded by grassy fields for god's sake!
  13. Yeah, it's a safety feature to dissuade drivers from speeding.... (It's not really(!) as Mr SRI advises, check your sensors)
  14. The image of the tweeter in the footwell panel might tell a tale on what's wrong with your ABS. That's where the controller sits and if it was still there, there wouldn't be space for that tweeter.... Mark
  15. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! That's brilliant, and just gets better when you see the rear!
  16. IIRC, Denso Marsten made the original rads but I don't think they support the motor industry anymore.... Mark
  17. Nice collection. One thing though, don't use nail varnish remover to get that V6 badge off(!) - Autoglym intensive tar remover will do the job admirably and is much kinder to your paint work.... Mark
  18. You need to contact Dogger (aka James) on here; if you search through his posts you'll find his various offer threads. Mark

    VR6 Engine Cover

I think the mk3 ones say 2.8 on them...
  20. My screens got a chip in it too, and I've thought about getting it replaced for a while now as it annoys me (didn't get mentioned at MoT time though...). It would be good to know where you end up taking it Jim seeing as we're kind of in the same part of the world. I remember Kev (Fishwick) saying he'd had a good job done on a replacement screen at a place out Ipswich way but can't find the post in the five minutes I spent looking - a search through his posts more thoroughly (or a PM to him) might bring more joy... Mark
  21. Gotcha, I'm with you now, of course the spacer affects the block rather than the head. Sorry, blond moment. Mark
  22. Hmmm, are you sure that's right? Stealth use a a head spacer to drop the compression when they're converting an engine to forced induction....
  23. I'm east London too, but don't keep the Rado in town. I could possibly turn up in the Audi estate but it's not exactly a pulse-raiser! Mark
