  1. in a RHD car they're to the right of the steering column behind the little tray thingy. TBH I'd check that first, it takes 10 seconds! worth greasing up the runners anyway since they'll probably have died out a bit since the car came off production, mine had.
  2. do both sides go at the same speed? I'd suggest (if you havent done so already) taking the doorcards off and spraying white grease in the runners for the windows in case they've gone stiff and dried out. Failing that it 'could' be a fuse which has blown in an odd way, or it could be the window motor, any odd noises while the windows are moving? sorry, dont know about the one touch up/down on early rados.
  3. slightly more complimentary pic of the porker. Sorry Rodders, I couldnt find a guards red one!
  4. search for 'mfa extra functions' or 'mfa hidden functions' and make sure you have 'Search for all terms' checked. I've never been able to get boolen (AND, OR, NOT) searches to work with the forum.
  5. aye, should probably take that down til after its fixed!
  6. ahh lowered! lovin' your work dinkus ;) its even got a splitter to scrape on speedbumps! quick update to the story, I'm now waiting for a call from the very genericly titled 'north of england coachworks' about getting my car to them for repairs, which is good, although I'll be wanting to see their work before I agree to let them touch the car.
  7. sure is, i spent ages playing about with it when i should have been working!
  8. found this via sniffpetrol.com, TAFKA Gaz Top doing a motoring related podcast on a regular basis. http://www.garethjones.tv/indexgj.html He was quite good on 'How' if I remember rightly, although I always prefered Crazy Fred Dinage.
  9. TBH mate it WAS handbrake failure, i parked the car up in the same spot and let the handbrake off to see what happened, if I'd left it off on saturday night the car would have been rolling when I got out, which I think I would have noticed!
  10. oh without a doubt, see my thread titled 'runaway rado' for more info on what happened. I guess all I'm worried about is if the claims going through or not, the guy at the insurance company took all my details and an account of the accident then said they'd pass it on to auto indemnity. Never having done this before I suppose I'm just a bit paranoid that they're going to try and wriggle out of it.
  11. nah, the accident was my fault and the only injury I sustained was to my pride :(
  12. My insurers have passed my claim on to a company called 'Auto Indemnity' who appear (from their very lacking website) to be a claim management company, however I'm not entirely sure what that means and what their role is. anyone delt with them before or know anything about them or claim management in general?
  13. that looks pretty good! however I suspect they arent 17's. I'll have to make sure I get a 5 stud pram. quick google search revealed no websites about modified prams! it beggers belief no ones thought of it before!
  14. bloody nora aye, good point! I dont think I'll be trusted with the pram/buggy though since the missus already cowers in terror when I drive. wonder if the RH's will fit on a mama's & papa's pram? 8)

    Max Power

good point gibber, its all well and good boasting about a car thats in max power, which they may well have put extra effort into knowing it was destined for fame (or shame?) but what about joe bloggs car? were there any customers cars about when you went down there?
  18. I've often wondered how you get into being an instructor, so its like sitting your driving test again then?
  19. main thing I'm worried about is paying the £275 excess, how it'll effect my premium in the future and how it'll effect selling the car on. I'll get flamed by everyone for saying it but at the end of the day, its just a car, no point getting upset about it. speaking to my mum on the phone last night and I swear she fell of her chair when I said something along those lines to her, I guess my priorities have changed in the last couple of months, still love the 'rado but theres more important things to be concerned with.
  20. aye, leave the fecker in gear and stick some aeroplane chocks behind the wheels!
  21. BTW - cheers for the messages of goodwill, it'll all get sorted soon enough
  22. same things happened to chrisvr6 nos in the past too, he was telling me yesterday his rolled off down the street but casued no damage. Out of curiosity I parked the car up where I normally do last night and left the handbrake off (while sat in the car!) and it started rolling back right away. I think its safe to say the handbrake WAS on but for some reason, more than likely the cooling brakes loosing their grip, the handbrake failed. I suspected as much since the incline of the hill I park on isn't that gradual, I think i would have noticed if the car had been moving when I got out of it!
  23. just wait til xmas, you always get a tiny set of screwdrivers in crackers!
