'revolutionary 170bhp v6' sounds to be like the VR, only slightly inaccurate on the actual figures, i'd guess thats a preview of the mk3 not the mk6 going off the 'all new cabriolet' heading and the v6 thing.
-
apparently any VW from that era has the same blanks, late ones can be got from the dealers although mine said they were discontinued, which could have been down to the parts monkeylooking at the early ones!
-
belt tensioner bearings can be changed, there was a how-to knocking about on a website somewhere, if you cant be ar**d though I've got a VR tensioner for sale at the moment which was working fine til i took it off and put a polished one on in its place, think I only wanted about £25 for it...

courier for rear bumper - RIP OFF! who to use?
chrishill replied to _leon_'s topic in General Car Chat
parcel2go was never that much when i used them to send 4 alloys! about £15 a package IIRC, unless the bumper is over their maximum size restrictions? -
oh yes you can, i'd have it for nowt! ;)
-
which is a steal, if only i'd not bought the sunroof gasket at the weekend!
-
I guess what it comes down too is me becoming frustrated with it, I dont really want to sell it but I have to, and i've looked into every way I can think of keeping it but its just not possible. when i tried to sell it I had very little serious interest (seems par for the course at the moment) which was frustrating in itself. The hicup has returned after i thought I fixed it with a new (£20!) relay which makes me think its more likely to be the CPS now, and I spent around £100 at the weekend at the dealers buying daft little parts to try and get it in reasonable condition to sell for a fair price which TBH I really shouldnt have with the way my budget is at the moment. maybe i'm just having a bad day but I'm sick to death of thinking about cars at the moment, which is why I was wanting advice on something I wont give a rats a$$ about in terms of wanting to modify it, car park dents, insurance and so forth.

the tdi might be an option if/when I get shot of the VR!
-
cheers paul, good tip on the ebay front, and i hadn't really thought about auctions!
-
yeah, i have use of a pug 206 at the moment which isnt 'fun' to drive at all, but its passible. As i say its nothing to do with the corrado as a car, just issues connected to owning cars in general.
-
just speculating for the future mate, pig sick of the VR at the moment, its the focal point of a few issues... not the cars fault but I hate the thing at the mo!
-
mk2 small bumper indicators in the front bumper? as dinkus says, new wheels and a few tweeks and it'd look alot better, still theres alot of people out there who'll like it as-is and its certainly not the worst i've seen!
-
aye, old nissans might be a good route to persue. not a primera gt though, insurance would be too steep to be economical.
-
mk3's are the square ones that the rs turbos were based on werent they? I probably do mean mk5's, the model before the model before the focus if that make sense.
-
I know plenty of people on here run 'bangers' as day to day hacks to preserve their corrados, and I just wondered if anyone had any tips for what to look for in a sub £500 car. Obviously reliablity is going to be the main issue, theres no point buying a shed that needs alot of engine work to keep it going. I've noticed alot of old (mk3?) escorts and new-ish shape mondeos on autotrader, what could i expect from something like that? bodywork in less than great state and space ship miles are a given, but are the engines likely to be spannered or are they just 'the norm' prices for old fords?

its an experiment I'd be willing to try! anyone know a good plastic surgeon? fnarr fnarr!

whos Reg? :? -
I've seen a few 6's about including a convertible one, deffinatly styled better than the new 3's and 5's :pukeright: Havent seen an m6 in the metal yet but I like the looks of them.
-
sure does, it closes the windows and sunroof when I arm the alarm, but I can also close them independantly with one of the spare buttons on the remote. Its got a fair few features which I dont use, like the anti-hijack function which locks the doors when the ignition's on, bit of a pain in real-world use though.

run away 'rado :( - another update - fat lady sings.

I remember a simular thing happening to my parents caravan when I was a nipper James. Obviously it was attached to a car rather than a donkey, and they didnt apreciate my wetting myself laughing as they tried to get it back down to earth. -
I've never worried about an MOT since my old valver passed with an entirely bald drivers side tyre, at a reputable well known garage franchise. I asked the guy who booked it in to change it before the MOT since I knew it needed one, but got it back fully MOT'd with no bill for a new tyre and no new tyre.

blackcat, dazzyvr6, while the drivers side is doing its auto-down thang, tap the passengers side one and it'll auto-down too (or up, depending where the windows are when you start :?)
-
well i would have said go for the toad Ai606 as i cant fault mine... but thats nothing you dont know already!
