  1. I thought I saw a corrado when I was watching that henny, but it was a 'blink and you miss it' thing so i wasnt sure! if only that was literal, a mile of curry... *drool*
  2. fibreglass seems popular these days, but I think its tricky to work with unless you really know what you're doing
  3. yup i get this too. You can adjust the trim that the rear speakers sit in to narrow the gap at the boot opening thus 'wedging' the shelf a little better. Its been a while since i did it on my valver, but if memory serves the plastic shelf thingys that the speakers sit in are bolted in place near the rear lights, pull the carpet back and you should see where they attach. what you need to do is pull them in slightly so the gap between either side of the boot opening is smaller and it traps the shelf better.

in stock form they're about the same although the 2.0 has more torque, VW upped the CC to compensate for the losses through the addition of a cat, however a cat bypass pipe could well free up a large chunk of power for you. -edit- when I say large, I'm talking 10bhp or so...

I beleive its down to the early and late valvers. The 1.8's had red badges and the later 2.0's had silver.
  6. hmm, without pictures its hard to tell what condition its in, but i see your point, FSH doesn't mean theres nothing wrong with it!
  7. not quite the only one though, theres the famous 'UPS' corrado too. I do like that one though james, almost a factory looking colour.
  8. yeah thats kind of what I was expecting, most people on here know the car and know chrisVR6nos and his considerable skills (and often outspoken nature!) and could easily go back over my posts to check out the cars history to help reassure them its all tickity boo. Fingers crossed when I do come to sell it a forum members in the market for one.
  9. PAS pump on its way out or PAS belt slipping?
  10. I dont think it is, sure you have to budget for a charger rebuild but at least once thats done you know its going to be fine for a long time. If the rest of the car looks in good nick you can probably assume its well loved and so well looked after. My personal opinion is (and not just because I'm trying to sell a car without one!) service history shouldnt matter too much, judge the car on its merits and get it serviced yourself as soon as its yours!
  11. ok, so its another 'whats it worth' thread thinly disguised as an attempt to spark debate on the value of a service history but none the less... I've owned my vr for about 7 months and will be selling it within the next 6 months or so. I bought the car from ChrisVR6nos whos an ex VAG mechanic and knows his way around the corrado like no one else I know (except maybe H8RRA!) and as such he serviced/matinatined it himself. I was confident buying the car off him as I trust his skills and the total lack of service history didnt really bother me too much. Now I'm thinking of selling up a few issues about the car are concerning me in that they'll effect value in the negative. 1. total lack of history save for one or two previous MOT's 2. lack of paperwork for the mods carried out since they were all DIY jobs 3. engine swap, albeit for a lower milage engine and lack of corolation between engine miles and miles on the clock. (clocks show 96k, engines done aprox 130k) otherwise the cars sound, but I have a distinct feeling the above points will put off buyers. Is there anything I can do via VW to get its previous service history? I take it I'll need a code off the engine rather than the chassis number since the engines been swapped? Is there anything like an AA inspection I could carry out to reassure buyers that the cars in good nick or is that a waste of cash and the buyers job? oh and what do you lot reckon its worth? cheers for any advice!
  12. yum! not keen on the whale tail spoiler though ;)
  13. keep 'em, like you say it breaks up the yellow. some colours look better without and some look better with.
  14. I find my brakes pretty to use good in contrast to newer cars, i dont like the way the lightest touch on the peddle of my dads X-Trail slams on the anchors like i'm trying for an emergency stop, the progressive feel of the corrado brakes gives you WAY more control over exactly how much you slow down by and offers far more feedback than newer cars. In an emergency situation I recon the C's brakes are actually better than alot of new cars i've driven.
  15. rs7's would look nice i think
  16. BBS with black centers and polished lips... pure wheel sex.
  17. ;) well done mate, looking forward to seeing it since I dont remember it from the first time around.
  18. i said i might be wrong!

    twin exhaust

one either side? if you get the pipe style and can get the cutout looking the same on both sides I reckon it'd look good.
  20. i could well be wrong, but I 'think' the ABS on the corrado is fairly primative and applies its magic to both wheels.
  21. pumping of different types, if i'd used my braking technique on the G/F I dont think I'd be in the same situation as I am now ;)
  22. do you get the same rough and eratic running when they come out?
