  1. I'm sure there will be cheaper out there, just be aware that others may not lavish the love and attention that I will!
  2. I won't go much lower! Those are generous rates as it is!
  3. I put new stops in Sean and took 30mm from the top and all seems well so far. I'm sure I could have taken just 25mm off but 30mm from the top is a convenient place to cut. Measure yours up and you'll see what I mean.
  4. Bushes arrived earlier and fitted up. It cured all my sagging arse issues and thanks to a better bit of bush I can fit 2 fingers in the gap instead of just the one. Much happier! Celebrated with a clean and a photo for all you lot!
  5. I've seen the TT baseball stitched seats in a Corrado before, looked OK! All that generation of Golf and A3/TT etc cars have the same seat rails in the chassis so they should all convert the same way!
  6. No problems here, she knows the pecking order!
  7. Plenty of people have fitted TT leathers so I can't imagine the Mk4 Recaro's being too difficult.

    Hid kit ?

I hate these things myself! 95% must be fitted incorrectly which tars the remaining few who go to the effort of fitting them properly. Proper HID's are for use with projector lights as well.
  9. I cut 35mm or so off the end of the bump stops but then the car sat a bit lower than yours. I've added new stops to my heritage order so will see how it sits with new mountings. Even under very heavy braking, I don't rub which I could get if I really stepped on the stoppers before on the standard suspension. I'll see what happens next!
  10. I've not heard of the VR stuff being an upgrade before? If it were me, I'd put the stuff designed to go in there and have done with it.
  11. Best fit what was designed to go in there? Any reason why you have the VR6 top mounts?
  12. The main difference is in the geometry of the top of the shock in comparison to the bottom. 5 stud cars are all wide track and 4 are all narrow.
  13. That's a range of drop you can expect. Chances are it is 27mm on most cars but they are covering themselves incase they said you got 30mm and you only got 25mm. Things like amount of screen wash, the type of battery etc can vary the drop slightly. It will also matter how worn your upper mounts are, of they are worn, then you will sit 30mm lower than a standard car with fresh mounts for example. The back varies as Sean said on amount of fuel in the tank and whether you have other rubbish in there. Plus axle cars are the 5 stud cars as a general rule of thumb.
  14. That won't hurt at all.
  15. My local machine mart must be economical with that offer then with half of the Air Force being within 25 miles!
  16. Really??! I waited for the event to buy my welder! For others reference, I bought something in store and joined their mailing list there, the e-mail did nothing! The VAT free days are by invite and there are normally 3 or 4 a year and around Christmas by experience!
  17. That was the problem I found out last year Sean although I've just searched on VW Heritage and they have some in stock so time to order some in! EDIT: Ordered! I wish I looked there before I fitted the stuff, that will teach me! I'm normally so well researched as well!
  18. The earlier (pre 94) plus axle cars come with the correct larger top plates. Yours being a 95, I'd say get new top spring plates and Dave is right, the part number is in the instructions. Mine looked original and were fine. The kit comes with a new top lock nut for the front and all the fasteners you need for the rear top mounts. Neither the front or rear shocks come with new lower bolts but mine were only 5k old so I reused them. I'm going to try and source some new upper mounts Dave, I loved how the rears sat on your car. Actually scratch that, I like your whole car very much indeed!
  19. I fitted B12's yesterday. They are fantastic! They're not coilovers by the way, they are Bilstein B8 Shocks with Eibach springs.

    Hid kit ?

Headlight loom and better bulbs. The bright white bulbs are crap in the rain, the yellower looking bulbs don't look as bright but are better in the rain. Don't ask me why, it's just what I found.
  21. Take it to somebody with a Hunter or Breissbarth kit. I got mine done today on a Hunter system and it tracks perfectly straight. Obviously on cambered roads it will pull to the left though. I've never followed the rule of only every adjusting one side, there are plenty of threads either side and so long as they are both the same length to start with (ie: when both track rods and ends are replaced they are wound on evenly) then the turn or two will make little difference to day to day driving. The fixed length on the one side is to keep the rack central when adjustments are carried out.
