  1. It was a little go kart. Up until you hit 40mph that is. Don't think I'd have another though.
  2. You are my inspiration Michael. Did you manage to get through ownership without the gearbox popping?
  3. We can rebuild it! And we did, and then mapped it and then decatted it and then drove it! It had 300 brake that old girl!
  4. It would cost you! But then time is something I will have on my hands soon and I like a project! The BBS caps Rob? There was a seller at the VW/Audi Track day at Castle Coombe about 5 years ago.
  5. Talk me through what is needed to convert to mk4 hubs then and what happens to the wheel track?
  6. Sure did, The original thread is here if anybody wants to waste some time! Click
  7. Found an old memory stick of mine earlier and amongst the pictures I found this one of my old car. I really do miss those RX's!
  8. When I went sim only with EE, my S3 Galaxy just accepted the new sim card but then I bought the phone and contract from phones4u initially and not EE. Apparently phones4u only sell unlocked phones. I know none of that helps you at all but never mind. I'm thinking of a new phone myself as the S3 isn't keeping up with the demands of modern apps and is slowly grinding to a halt! I was thinking Nexus 5 but they don't sell those anymore and I've heard good about those one plus 1 phones.
  9. Later cars were around 55mph (so yeah 90k) and earlier ones were set to 47 or so (75k maybe?)
  10. The VR6 and later 5 stud cars all came with longer wishbones and driveshafts and wider wings to compensate for the extra track. If you use poweflex type bushes the nvh will increase a lot but the geometry will remain consistent. If you fit R32 bushes, nvh will be at oem levels and the geometry will remain very good. The Corrado was known for its handling back in the day and that was with voided bushes. Upgrading to solid oem bushes can only improve that but without the harshness you'll encounter will poweflex bushes. They're also only about £15 each so good value too.
  11. I think you need a denso radiator. They have extra holes for these brackets.
  12. Buy a pair of matched speakers with crossovers. From then on its just budget and it's like anything then, The more you spend the better you get. The thing is, the standard noise insulation is so poor in comparison to modern stuff, you'll not notice any difference between mid and high end stuff. Unless you go nuts and insulate the hell out of everything whilst it's in pieces. I've used car audio security in the past and have been happy with their products and service.
  13. Luckily they come up before 70, otherwise nobody would ever see :norty:
  14. Corrados are a strange beast, I've seen rust there on low mileage minters and yet some cars that are just abused have absolutely none! Good to see the love returning.
  15. When you fit the mocal, you need a longer bolt that holds the top of the cooler in place, you know, the black dished top part? And then you simply fit the mocal sandwich plate in between. Have a look on the r32oc and see if anyone on there has fitted a mocal and take inspiration from that. I won't deny they look cool, but you don't need to buy the biggest one you can find so that should save some pennies for other bits :-) Where would you mount it? I think the turbo boys fit their's in the air dam in front of the radiator. I'm neurotic about cooling on mine since my fan melted itself to death but rest assured the single 11 is more than capable but if you save some pennies on a smaller mocal, then you can spend them on additional fans!
  16. As Swiftkid said earlier, I run a single 11inch fan on home made brackets which are for all intents and purposes exactly the same as the recent group buy. I have the ability to add an additional 9 inch fan but in the middle of summer, in traffic going nowhere fast at over 30 degrees, I sat for 40 minutes and water never rose above 92/94c. Granted the duty cycle was pretty much consistent but it worked well. Oil stayed at about 102/4 with the standard cooler too. Is there any reason you are wanting to fit an external oil cooler? It's not really needed. Even with track work in summer, with the standard fan shroud removed, you get so much more airflow into the engine bay that the standard cooler works a treat. If you do fit an additional cooler, at least make sure you run a thermostat so that the cooler is only used when required otherwise your oil will run too cool and be of detriment to the engine. At this time of year I struggle to get oil above 100c when giving it some love. Normally I'm at 92/96 depending on ambient temp. If you're doing it for looks or pub talk then cool, but make sure you have a thermostat. If you have a turbo coming soon, then get a nice big version :-)
  17. It is the cooling system fuse and the fan is normally the cause. I'd suggest your fans are going to die sooner rather than later. Give them a spin by hand and make sure they aren't anything but smooth. If they are even a bit rough or notchy, replace the fans. If not, they can catch fire without tripping the fuse. Ask me how I know...
  18. And that's the reason people leave Corrados thinking they're old niche vw's and pretty much always come back! Milltek was always my favourite exhaust tone apart from the Techtronics Dual Borla. And the way 24v's go make them deceptively quick!
  19. What's the story with the down pipes then? Are they for noise purposes or is there power to be had?
  20. Well, that's me decided then, I'll get some new stock fillers in the new year!
