Comedy video about the Corrado on You tube
Sean_Jaymo replied to Erallus's topic in General Car Chat
I feel dumber now I've spoken to you. Not something i find exclusive to car geeks, plenty of this going on in every day life! -
I take it you used the a2 resource ce2 diagrams? It's what I used and all is well. The yellow/black is switched live if memory serves.
-
Rarer than hens teeth mate!
-
All of wiring was on the w plug if I remember correctly. Apart from a black/red plug from one of the other looms.
-
You still need the brake light switch on the pedal box but you will plug the new system into a spare light switch feed for the new ecu to know when the brake system is in use.

Anyone bought from volkswagen-classic-parts.de ?
Sean_Jaymo replied to tman2714's topic in Suppliers Forum
Yeah, a load of us bought some steering wheels last year. They are the classic arm of vw themselves. -
I'm assuming the fitting kit is extra?
-
Shut it frenchie!
-
Tell me about it!

It seems customer contact is a thing of the past!

Chat away guys! I'm actually from north London but happen to find myself up north!

A quick Google comes up with this; A device may draw a maximum of 5 unit loads (500*mA) from a port in USB 2.0; 6 (900 mA) in USB 3.0. As power is equal to current times voltage, all you have to do is multiply*5V*per the current your device is drawing from the port. This is true, however, for the regular USB standard.

Maybe they have changed then? Mine have absolutely no vibrations at all. I'm not saying what Kev is saying isn't true in the slightest and I wouldn't want to buy from UM again based on customer service. That aside, my particular version of the product has worked for me. Maybe I was lucky, maybe Kev was unlucky?
-
2 amps at 12v is pretty much nothing really. That wiring will be fine unless you are running motors or heaters from your USB. I think USB works at 5v as well so even less of a draw.

I emailed him at the sales@unitedmotorsport address.
-
Must be that. Silver would look a bit pap, same with white so must be that as part of it anyway.
-
Thanks for getting back to me. I'm going to pass on this opportunity this time.
-
Why not take it from the glove box light? Definitely no issues with audio then. But then USB takes such a tiny current that I'm sure only the best ears would pick that out in a Corrado.
-
It always makes me wonder how some corrados look great with a painted grille (like yours in this case) but yet some look total crap with a painted grille. I can't pin down what it is.

I've got a united Motorsport down pipe on mine and I'm happy with it. The flex section seems to be of a decent size and flexes well, not sure if they've made improvements since Kev had one or not. True, they are very bad at customer contact and it took a couple of weeks to actually get it delivered but apart from that, I'm happy with what I have. The company in Louth is called PP Tuning and have a very good reputation and if I was after a bespoke system, I'd talk to them happily but the problem I had at the time was that I couldn't get it trailered up there so needed a bolt on option.
-
Not easily, they don't bolt on/off. Anything is possible though.
-
Actually, scrub that. No spot welds on the revell model. I was thinking of something else! Just a few screws that can be removed with a watchmans screwdriver.
-
You don't unless you tap and fit a screw. From memory (a few years now!) you don't need to do anything with the spot welds afterwards.
-
Easy. Screw driver and 2 spot welds to drill if remember correctly.
