  1. if you are takining everything from the cat back, then it should depend only on the flange that joins the cat to the downpipe. If they are the same, and I dont know if they are or not, then it will fit. Trouble is, and as dr_mat, says, it wont be easy to remove the vr rear section, and then fit it to the other car.
  2. Mine was the same, but I knew it was not any of the above - turned out the temp sender housing had been leaking and had sprayed water onto the king lead - the water had then run down onto the distributor and killed the end of the king lead and the plug hole for it on the dizzy cap. Also, when checking the vac hoses - make sure the 2 on the throttle body are on the right way round. IIRC (and i will check) the one to the ECU goes on the nipple that is perpendicular to the tb, the one to the carbon cansiter valve goes on the nipple that sticks out the throtte boday at an angle.

what kits are in the running?
  5. could I take them off in less than 2 minutes by beating a larger socket over the top?
  6. would be nice if they offered some money back garauntee...... if you can get them off without the key, then you can have your money back!
  7. It was raining the day mine died actually.
  8. it will be dirt on a sensor or on the wheel it senses...happened to mine one day....then didnt happen again.....I expect it will happen again at some point!!! :(
  9. one word.....COSTCO second word 'Oak Tyres', trade price for ALL tyres  (e.g. 215/40/16 Marshall tyres £42 each :D ) Marshall??? Who? R they actually any good.......i know a guy with a mk4 gti that says that the Nankangs he has are one of the best tyres he has ever had......i wont be taking his word for it! IIRC costco sell pilot exaltos 195/50/15 for £53 fitted.
  10. Thats what its all about (and porn! ) I am glad I eventually managed to get a kit for my car that WASN'T goodridge!
  11. speak to one of those injury claim specialists.....never dealt with one...but I am sure they will tell you if you have a case. It was bad enough for me in my golf trying to convince the insurance that it was not a run of the mill golf....but at least parts are readilly available here.....the mk1 rocco must have been a nightmare. Have never thought of it that way.....funny as hell.....but like LOADS of brittish systems....totally stupid
  12. Migs hope you are ok Tempest, £1200 isnt a lot for 1 year worh of your spare time, are you not able to go back to your solicitor to have that increased?

I cant fault my Leda kit in any way, they are made well, have camber adjustment mech built into the front brackets, (to allow further adjustment than with the normal two bolts) Leda Website All the struts are nickel plated and built to your specifications - so you do have to wait about 4-6 weeks for them. Club GTi get 15% discount too....which i never claimed
  14. heres my thoughts........and I am also on the look out for good ones for puting on when I get my new wheels.... My car came with the 3 stud type on the bbs's....and didnt come with the adapter...... oh sh*t I thought when i wanted to start work on the brakes....but I looked at the heads...they are a shitty soft alloy......i took myself a 18 or 19mm (cant remember which) socket head, a short extension, and a 6 lb hammer. 2 short swift hits an the socket seemed to just slide over the locking bolts - and out they came. So if i can do that why cant a theif...making them 'not so locking' wheel bolts. :( The ones that I had on my golf "looked" like they were a harder metal (still alloy tho) for the head.....but then I havet tried to remove them the wrong way - I suspect it might not be much harder than the others - perhaps requiring 3 or even 4 hits from the hammer  With this in mind, is there a better version available? I think, that if anyone made stainless or even regular steel bolts it would make it a good bit more effort to remove them without the key. Any one know of suppliers of this type?

thats a bit of an extreme statement?? They are a bit tricky to fit....i made the small wishbone bush a 2 piece item in order to get it in! They are firm, but if thats what you want - tight suspension with no silly unknowns and odd squidges. I have them on my car, with Leda adjustable coilovers - these alow you to adjust rebound and dampening in one adjustment, unlike some other single adjustable struts which are rebound or dampening only. I have absoloutly no complaints with my set up. I have not uprated the ARB, and dont intend to until i give the car some serious stick on the track to see what gives!
  16. 81.9 for optimax in edinburgh.....in wick, where I'm origonally from its 89.9 for std unleaded!!!

  22. it was me! was brian and the guys speaking about it? I just decided that after the special kit, plus the made up kit being wrong.....goodridge were not hte brand for me! Where bowts r u located?
  23. i had exactly the same problem....the problem was not the lenght of the thread...it was the sealing face on the end on the thread....g60 caliper needs a convex face, g60 hose kit is supplied with a concave face......I got sorted with a much better kit from PSD with a better sealing face.....IIRC 2CC also felt this was the case about the goodridge ones. EDIT * prev Goodridge hose complaints........... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3990 http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2952
