A bit random, but did you go through Preston this morning?
-
Black J reg cutting through the traffic on the preston ring road this morning.
-
Best start with what runs into the passenger door for the lecci windows, de-misting mirror etc see if those circuits pass through. Also if any after market alarm sensors as it looks like a fair bit of extra wiring there. Looks nasty, did it just burn up or come like this? good luck.

If you have no luck and can wait a bit until i get chance to remove it. My car came with one that didn't need bumper cutting. Half is already off but part of it is still bolted underneath the car. £15 and not too far away?

wow that last pic looks a nightmare, i'm rubbish with the electric side of things. But engine in and running there must be light at the end of the tunnel and be well worth it. I presume you must work in a garage or something to have all the skills to take this on? Looking good.

Well I'd like to swap for a VR6 but with two rado's already as well as the family wagon I doubt I'd be able to explain myself. If it was a 5 door GTI I'd be more than tempted to keep it and rid myself of the money pit Mitsubishi daily, as its much quicker, nimbler and economical!

Yes cheers too from me, as I'm in the middle of mine at the mo. Just waiting for a dry weekend to finish after a few failed attempts. Have already got a bottle of Tardis so will report on how that works. Only managed a small patch so far but reading this i guess its my impatience that's not helped me. So now I'll leave time for soaking and not expect it to shed instantly :)

Hope its not too expensive to sort or dinted. I always try to park on row z at supermarkets etc, wife hates me doing it. Still manage to get numpties parking next to it there though. So many incidents at works car park or not. I was actually sat in it once, having just pulled up and some muppet came in next to us got out thumping my door in the process!? looked at me and walked off... wtf! Out of all the cars I've owned/parked its the corrado that's always been hit, wasn't aware they came with stealth technology. -
Cheers, it's the 2nd one I've had its nice and true, can't be too many that are still original and not looking too tired. The alloys were on when I got it but they never bothered me too much, nice and easy for cleaning tho :) Did have some original BBS wheels lined up for it but knew I was going to sell soon so it'd be money spent I simply wouldn't get back or have time to enjoy.

Been waiting on the 'Other VAG' link, but just stumbled in here and others putting in cars so, hey ho here goes if its ok..? *More pics added 1990 Golf GTI 8v Genuine Big bumper edition £1450 ono. 138k Tornado red. 8/9months MOT (straight through), no tax but this can be put on. With two corrado's and a family estate, there's little or no time/funds for this great reliable car. Apart from the alloys and the head unit. This car has been kept totally original throughout unlike many others. No tuning, lowering or holes in parcel shelf even! Perfect to either keep this way or put your own stamp on from fresh. Engine and gear box are sound, no smoking etc at all. Oil is clean and coolant isn't brown. Interior is clean and tidy, re-bolstered seats, no sagging or tears and have been valeted prior to fitting. Its non PAS model so you either love or hate it. The extra feel for the road is good though imo and the car handles just great. Two keys (both the same) for all locks and ignition. Everything works that is electric ie central locking, instruments etc. Manual windows and tilt and slide sunroof. Fitted in last few years: brake pipes/lines all 4 shocks/springs full exhaust discs/pads all round. rear callipers front suspension wings/bushes alternator and Bosch battery! Bad bits, small rust spot on passenger door and again just above rear licence plate. Also the paint being original has faded in areas on the roof as is the norm in this colour. But comes up fine with simple colour restore and a waxing etc. So, not bad at all for 22 yrs old back to basics classic really that's unmolested. Any questions just fire away or if you know anyone who maybe interested, cheers in advance. Andy.

That's some extreme cleaning going, in the gear box esp! looks great.

So, late autumn/early winter return has been knocked on the head now. Spring now realistically. Very frustrating but matters out of my hands got in the way. Garage/shed where my breaker is and my own should be is bunged up with other cars, so no room at the inn right now. On top of that delay my daily drive got badly keyed recently then the gear box blew £££ :( So very little done on the rado, just replaced worn wiper linkages and motor, no more loose wobble at all. Currently got a Lupo for a few weeks on loan, strangely good fun and can't help thinking what the gti version is like!? Also wondering if they'd notice if I sent it back with corrado wiper arms on ;-) *Dave, no problems with drive-shafts, will give you a buzz when I finally get there. Still can't believe your immaculate, beyond show room condition car, wow! sounded great too, is that oem exhaust?

Blackberry VR6, private plate starting KFO getting fed up of roadworks and doing a 3 point turn on the A6 heading out of Whittle le Woods about dinner time.

Nice to know its normal, often wondered why, as I found myself driving around holding the stalk in not letting just so i could see better. Cheers for asking :)

I (don't) like the way when they got all the equal rights for insurance brought in, they got put up to male prices rather males been dropped down to their lower premiums. A lot of insurance is just ludicrous these days no matter who you are. Probably why I'm still taxi'ing the missus about when quotes for £400 1.0 run-about are never below 1k. That said I ain't seen no bloke putting applying make-up whilst driving yet...
-
hopefully just needs another pinch after the 2 weeks of breaking in.

Modern car headlights... is it just me?

I agree with all of the above, the intensity of some of the lights is a bit much. You also get people obviously with weight in the back not using the height adjustable switch to compensate. Had a 4x4 dazzle me the other day on a country road, again couldn't see straight and when i got some vision back I immediately swerved because I was milli seconds from ploughing through some teenagers wandering down my side of the road (no paths) all in dark clothes. properly shook to me to think 'what if.' Now it seems to be weekly that some unlit jogger or dog walker suddenly appears at the side of the road. Also why does the Juke need 6 lights at the front? like a fat TVR Tuscan -
Had mine do something similar over a week or so, no real pattern to it nothing, no matter how much I tried to save it and stop it cutting either at 60 or 6mph it was quite dangerous the power would just disappear in an instant. then the next day be fine until it decided to do it again. Distributer had a bad central connection inside or was on deaths door can't remember full explination but £60 for a new one and all sorted. Hope this helps.

Whilst taking out interior trim on my rado breaker, tucked under the seat runners amongst low value coins was a plastic toy banana and under the back seats a smurf! not sure which one though. if this counts, in my mk2 gti after it had been in winter storage, a mouses nest under the scuttle panel when i went to investigate poor airflow and why bits of straw and paper randomly shot into the cabin when the fan was on.
