  1. E only after market wheels I like on the Corrado are the BBS Multi/Cross spoke designs. I still prefer the standard Speedline/Solitude though. I think my ideal wheel is the Speedline in 16". Also not a fan of dark/coloured wheels. I know its very fashionable nowadays but to me they cheapen the look of any car.
  2. Also run a Saab Aero Hirsch Convertible and a Subaru Forester Turbo. The Saab could soon be making way for a 986 Boxster though. A bit ridiculous really, seeing as its just me in my house and I don't even use a car to commute! But I do like to think I have a car for every occasion
  3. Around 2004 I bought my first (of seven) Corrado from the chap at TCS. It was a Classic Green/Black cloth 2.0 16v (1994 M) with 65k on the clock and 2 owners. I loved that car. It was perfect, felt like brand new. Seem to remember I paid around £4k for it, which was top money at the time. It was brilliant though. I will always have fond memories of TCS for selling me my first Corrado. They had a lot of cars in stock in those days, several VR6s usually. I think they aren't as active with Corrados as they used to be and probably aren't as selective.
  4. I keep everything. When buying a car it has previously just come down to who was the most 'anal' owner! If someone has gone to the trouble of even keeping receipts for light bulbs/ old tax discs etc I can't imagine them red lining it from cold!
  5. Not me this time, was around Surrey all day
  6. BMC CDA no question, the best £200 I've ever spent on a car! The noise is highly addictive, though the beautiful thing is that when you're not in the mood you don't even notice it's there
  7. Pretty much the only Audis I actually like are the A1 and the R8. A girl I was seeing has one in a bluey/grey/white hue. It looks fantastic, very purposeful and some lovely design features. Ive not seen another like it. New car days are the best days, it's sunny too. Enjoy And post up a photo of your pretty impressive 2 car garage?!
  8. I want to but my wallet says no! If they are still around at the end of the month, I may be in trouble!..
  9. A great find there, extremely rare to find any, let alone a K plater with such low mileage/owners that haven't been messed about with. For me the standard look is always best
  10. Excellent effort, how many of those many miles have you done yourself? Have you had any major issues? Is the car like a motoring version of Triggers broom now or fairly original? Interested to know your experiences? Cheers
  11. Think the chaps at Dubpower are currently working on fabricating an OEM style exhaust finish. Have heard good things about them, when/if this comes to fruition I will be investing in one. I currently have a Jetex fitted which is nice and subtle with no boominess. Maybe look at an Induction Kit. The BMC CDA I, and many others, have fitted sounds epic when you want it to. Though, again, nice and subtle cruising with no discernible increase in noise from standard at motorway 5th gear 70mph
  12. Always used Alpine HiFi in my various Corrados. The current car has the Bluetooth Single Cd/IPod Unit with selectable illumination (obv select green to match with the dash lights). It was £120 from Halfords, reduced from £150. I personally do not like a head unit with illumination that doesn't match the dash lights. The Alpine always has the feel of being meant for the car, as well as great engineering. I have never had any issue with an Alpine.
  13. I have the OEM Votex Aero Roofbars in great condition, complete with both keys, all the rubber track inserts, Tightening Tool and Box/Instructions. They have little Corrado silhouettes on the underside, with arrows to show you which is front/rear. I use them on my Corrado for carrying bikes on two Thule 591s. They aren't available for sale yet, but if and when the car goes they should be. I should know for sure within the next week or so. I would probably be looking for £120 considering how rare they are
  14. Good effort, look forward to seeing your progress. Always regret selling my Aqua Blue
  15. Cleaned up the recently acquired set of Solitudes ready to fit Winter Tyres
  16. I also use a CTek. Very impressed. It recharged a completely flat battery in my 2nd VR very quickly. If I am leaving the main car for more than a few days I connect it up. The battery connections stay on the car so very easy to connect up as and when. I wouldn't be without one now, so much easier than risking having to wait a couple of hours for an AA call out
  17. 195s fit fine, I had this size winter tyres last year. This size enabled much more choice and were cheaper too
  18. I think that was me you saw in my Storm. I have a few days off work and just decided to go for a few hours drive around Kent/Surrey villages. I was in Edenbridge area around that time. I didn't see another C all day though!
  19. In the first 3 months of ownership the car has been as reliable as a wood burning stove. I have greatly enjoyed every single drive, no matter how short. Since the drive back from Edinburgh the greatest distance I have been is only a couple of trips down to my brothers place on the Kent coast. However, around the Surrey back roads it has been truly fabulous. Now on just over 110k miles. I haven't really changed much since purchase. It was pretty standard when I bought it in July, with only a Jetex Exhaust visibly changed from OEM. The car also had some engine ancillary improvements when I took ownership. Since then it has had the following: -BMC Induction Kit (cannot recommend it enough, combined with the Jetex Stainless Exhaust the car sounds epic..tunnels, driving through forests etc amplification spine tingling) -Alpine Single CD Bluetooth HiFi (OEM style green illumination) replaced the classic JVC with bulky boot mounted 12disc changer. -Corrado dealer scripted Carpet Mats. -set of spare BBS Solitudes to fit a set of Winter Tyres. -Humped Boot Carpet for full-size spare (some Euro trips planned for next year). -Euro style (GB) Dealer fit plates (same reason as above). -Cup Holder in lieu of rear ashtray (one of the cheapest and best mods I have ever made). -new OEM gear-knob (didn't realise just how shiny/worn original was till replaced it!). -new wing mirror glass (blue tint anti dazzle, very expensive but very nice!). Next on the list will be a remote Cat1 Alarm (currently has a cat2 Immobiliser and Vehicle Tracker System). Kind of sick of fiddling with the key in the lock, especially in the dark. Also need to refurbish the spare set of Solitudes and get some winter tyres fitted. Have trips to Scotland, Cumbria, North-East and Cornwall planned over the winter months so need the peace of mind the Winter tyres will provide. After this it will be time for another full service. I have decided to leave the 4x4 ride height alone for the foreseeable future. The state of our roads etc.. Looking forward to a few road trips in the coming months, will endeavour to get more photos up Photo below of XSX amongst some other Corrados at the recent Surrey meet
  20. Haven't updated the thread since purchase. Very lazy of me. This engine bay shot was taken shortly after purchase at the 2013 25th Anniversary National Day, looking pretty clean-although I can't really take much of the credit for this!..
  21. Love seeing roadtrip write ups, very inspirational.
  22. Dark blue L registration (VR?) on Carshalton Road towards Sutton,Surrey around 6.30pm. I was just exiting the BP when you drove past. Not seen it around before, looked like a nice standard car
