Stunning looking car. I have often driven past in mine and seen it parked up there, usually nearly crashing as I crane my neck at 40mph plus!..

whats the fuel consumption on a Corrado VR6 sports auto
Billzeebub replied to Ray1965's topic in General Car Chat
Have recently sold a lovely late example of the VR6 Auto. I was pleasantly surprised by the urge of the car, particularly on the open road and motorway. I was achieving similar mpg to the manual VR6s that I have owned, maybe slightly thirstier-but it all depends how you drive it. I would definitely have another Auto. My prime concern when buying a Corrado is the overall condition of the car, colour, spec and gearbox type are largely of secondary consideration for me -
I love Wheeler Dealers, have been anticipating an episode where they refurbish a Corrado since I first started watching it. However, I do think there is a certain amount of be careful what you wish for!..that if they did feature our car then we may potentially be disappointed with the reality of what they find and subsequently do to it. We all know the cost of these cars and the Wheeler Dealer ethos/budget may not produce something those in the know would be happy with as an example of the breed.

Welcome. Good to hear you're a local guy going for a VR6 Rado, always enjoy seeing another one on the road, especially if it looks original and standard well maintained. Speaking of which, lovely looking Mk2 GTi. I am in Surrey, near Banstead

I have an Alpine Bluetooth unit fitted in mine. It has a dark/ grey/ black finish, so blends in with interior well in daylight. Also there are 4 selectable illumination colours (green/amber/red/blue) so at night you have matching green lighting. It has Ipod connectivity (on front panel). It cost me £140 from Halfords in sale with loyalty discount! Think RRP is around£200. Excellent quality, great Bluetooth phone clarity through car speakers.

DEHUMIDIFIER BAGS - no more condensation :-)
Billzeebub replied to winchbietch's topic in General Car Chat
Looks like a good buy, obviously not for leaving in situe whilst driving though, great for storage..ordered 3. OP you should be on commission?! -
I have looked at that. It would be tempting just for the rarity value of being a P plater, but also looks really well cared for despite highish miles for the money

TT wipers and Uprated headlight loom the best mod in practical terms. For fun the best mod is BMC CDA

What are the chances of that happening! Top work getting the car, it looks really nice and straight. The after market wheels on it look quite fetching. I she interior a standard beige interior or has someone re-upholstered them? Congrats on rescuing the C..

SOLD Thule 591 Roof Mounted Cycle Racks, SOLD as new (x2)
Billzeebub posted a topic in Ebay and Misc
These Thule 591 (Universal) Roof Mounted Cycle Carriers are in totally as new condition with both security keys and the original box/packaging. Can potentially arrange delivery etc, but would prefer you to collect or for me to deliver within 10 miles for petrol costs. These Carriers have only been used a couple of times, superbly engineered and sturdy-even at the legal limit on the motorway. SOLD -
Day off today and was parked up in my usual spot in Banstead Village, just arrived back at car from a couple of hours loafing in Nero's and an old chap came up saying how beautiful the car was and how it looked like new! He was amazed when I told him it was 17 years old this month! He waxed lyrical about it for 10mins before I managed to get in and away. As I was pulling away got caught at the lights and a younger bloke is waving his arms in my direction. Had the sunroof open and he's telling me to park up cos he needs a word as he has a Corrado too. Fresh from my first Chufties I was in a particularly good mood and did as I was instructed. Another 5mins of praise for my car and I ended the conversation by pointing chap in direction of CCGB and this forum. Both nice chaps and kind of made my afternoon..

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
Billzeebub replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Just gave it a good clean, simple as that ..what a transformation! So good I had 2 seperate Chufties today!.. -
I have the Votex OEM bars on mine which are very good, I have carried fence panels, surfboards, 3 mountain bikes, christmas tree, even a sideboard using them. They fit the car beautifully and look good on the car too (being aero type)..however, they make a hell of a racquet at speed (sunroof open with them in situe really isn't practical!).. They cost me nearly £200 second hand (more than the Thule ones) but have been an excellent purchase ..I really wouldn't risk cheap bars, peace of mind was imperative for me and with intending to carry a RIB/boat more so. Reasonable priced sets come up from time to time second hand on here and eBay

Looks really fresh and liking the unmessed with feel. Always encouraging and interesting to see such a large amount of provenance. Hope the car is as good as it looks for you. I also intend to get to some shows in 2013, look forward to seeing your new motor in the metal

My usual method is a rough brushing (with brush from dustpan), then slightly damp cloth. If still soiled then some warm soapy water and a car sponge, old toothbrush on stitching and Corrado script, rinsing regularly

many happy returns
