  1. I've got one on the shelf ready for when I swap engines over, done by hotgolf on CGTI (I just put a wanted ad on there), I think its 3KG lighter, but the weight is removed from the outer edges of the wheel where it has most effect. It should rev quicker, the downside is it should be a little lumpier and easier to stall - not a big deal for low mileage use
  2. Looks great :) Have you considered a lightened flywheel?
  3. There's a bit of paint off one corner, no deep grazing though.
  4. Ive bought myself a t shirt with the reg number on, ****em http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151439996327?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2661&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  5. Working for me, but I've registered before here with Panjo so its probably the registering that's causing you the issues

  7. The front slam and rads etc are different too (as well as the previously mentioned crossmember and maybe rack etc?). These cars are cheap enough to buy, building one doesn't make sense? They're difficult to sell on too and I suspect a non genuine VR would be even more so. I've bought 2 VR6s off this forum for less than £1K each, one completely standard with leather runs and drives the other a Storm has a goosed engine. Good luck if you go a head with it :)
  8. And then you find its a badly described POS after you've put it on policy and taxed it too, where as the old system its just a phone call to put it on policy once you've inspected the car and done the deal. I've previously bought cars from Sunderland, Harrogate and the Isle of Man, so I speak from experience
  9. It will be interesting how much of a premium the add for monthly D/D payments. IMO the impact as always will be on the law abiding in society, the scroats still wont pay tax or insurance!

  11. Jim was looking for a rear spoiler in classic green, might be worth dropping him a pm?
  12. 1, check the gearbox oil level 2, bleed the clutch

  14. I think a few here have had long cranking issues that have been sorted with replacing the cam sensor? Check the wiring and plug to it (by the coil pack or dizzy above the gearbox on the side of the engine).
  15. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/00281 Main index for fault codes http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Category:Fault_Codes Clear the abs codes and take it for a drive and rescan
  16. G28 is engine speed sensor (crank sensor), you'll get this code if you scan the car without the engine running, if you have a spark and fuel injected its unlikely to be faulty
  17. Is there room under the arch / around the axle to machine a new hub mating surface on the wheel to give less poke?
  18. Do you still have the external oil cooler fitted? What happens to the gauge when you start from cold and the noise occurs as it warms up on idle? Is it worth dropping the sump and check for tensioner debris like you found on the old engine?
  19. As the noise is only there when hot I'd check the oil pressure
  20. If you have a small voltage 2V? Do you have the correct 2V bulb or LED? A higher rated bulb wont work
  21. Those pedestrians are actually there to see these twats, the shopping centre is a huge circle with car parks all around it, the pavements are just marking the perimeter.
  22. Remove all the sparkplugs and use a jump lead to check for a spark at the plugs
