I give up...can't bleed the brakes EDIT, now sorted
24V Renshaw replied to PhatVR6's topic in Drivetrain
Must be the MC then mate. I had the same thing once with the G60 set-up. Bled three of the calipers fine, then all of a sudden nothing. Exactly the same as you have. Ended up having to buy a new MC, then all was mint. Jay -

I am going to be doing mine in the next day or so. I was told by the VAG technician that with the MK4 ABS system you have to go into VAG-COM, set the brake system to "basic settings" and that opens all the valves up in the ABS unit. Not sure if you can do that on the Corrado stuff but might be the same? Jay -

ITS ALIVE!!!!!!! Fired up the engine last night for the first time and it ran sweet as a nut for about 10 seconds before the system realised there was no coolant, no brake fluid etc...etc.. and killed it. Will plug VAG-COM into it tonight and should get it running for a little longer, but need to put all the coolant hoses etc.. on first before it can be fully run up. Will do my best to get a video clip of it although I am not sure how I host it or whatever... Very very happy last night though and it sounds soooooooo smooooth!!!! :) Jay -
Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!

You boys are too defeatist. :) 8 days and counting to Worthersee!! ARGHH!!! Jay -
Did all mine too, right through from the back panel to the firewall, all the doors, the pillars, the roof, the rear 1/4's everywhere I could stick it. I bought two 2mx1.5m sheets of noisekiller and have done the whole car with it. I could only just lift the two rolls together, the poor postman struggled with that one!! I could not believe the difference it made to the car. The doors thunk much better, you can hardly hear any road noise, I could speak on the handsfree and hear everything perfectly. Well worth the extra weight. I now also have the added bonus of the proper MK4 golf firewall sound deadening matt inside the engine bay, that should make a big difference. Jay

Finally had a chance to have a look at this. Looking good Coxy, the haldex diff is a big bu99er isn't it. The welding looks good on the bracketry, nice bit of proper engineering, not just bolt on stuff! Look forward to having a good look in the flesh over the summer. Jay

Gutted for you mate, had a good chat with you at inters and could see how much effort and time had gone into it.I don't know what I would do if that happened to me, probably go on holiday as I would not be able to work thats for sure! Did you have anyone come and look at it while it was up for sale? I would be suspicious if you did. I am going to get an IP camera for while mine is parked at home, so that I would get the f*ckers on camera. Jay

I am about to do the 312mm 4motion brakes on mine and it looks like I will only need a 4mm spacer (2x2mm washers) in there. Thats using 4motion calipers, carriers and discs on VR6 hub carriers. Jay

Mine are actually Porsche seats, I have fitted the TT dash though! :) The TT seats have a very different front hook up point so would require a fair bit of welding and fabrication. Reaper1_3 - you have PM

Gixxeruk - Yeah I got a bit carried away with the first pic! :) Ben - No problem with the air-con pipes, we are going to make up some flexi joiners, so I can cut out the annoying bit that on the MK4 goes up over the side engine mount. That will mean the pipes run along the chassis leg nice and neatly. I am off to crack on with it now. Want the clutch master cylinder plumbed in and steering column in properly by the end of today. Good luck with yours too mate, only 2 weeks left for me now =:) -

Well it definately looks better with the inlet manifold on. Front cross member is now modified so the air-con pump clears it. This is how all the MK4 pipework looks in place. Still some mods to do to the Air-con pipes, as they are in the way, where the header tank, power steering bottle etc.. will sit. Jay -

LOL, Yeah I have always fancied a magic tree but never had the courage to try fitting one. If you could give me some tips it would be appreicated. :) Jay -

I can get some pictures tomorrow. The air-con pipes have a very winding complex route around the engine bay and may not fit as you are not using all MK4 stuff. They could be cut and ally welded though I guess if you needed to. Sorting the exhaust downpipes and front crossmember this weekend. Jay -
fitting konigsport coilies to a g60? all fitted !! 8)
24V Renshaw replied to Riley's topic in Drivetrain
Put VR top mounts in the front, they are waaaaayyyy better than the 16v/G60 ones. Cheap as chips from G&S aswell. Jay -
Late model Indicator stalks can they be fitted to a 1991 G60
24V Renshaw replied to Rollyrob's topic in Interior
I have a late type MFA stalk if anyone need one. £10 Jay -

LOL. Now that would be an interesting car. 24v V6 Lupo! Yeah its the cross over year, 2001/2002 car. I am glad it has the single coil pack as apparently the later type are prone to problems and I have known of two or three that have gone up in smoke. :( The engine is back out and the ABS system is now plumbed in right through and ready for bleeding, The air-con pipes are in place and the loom is pretty much in place. This weekend will be a busy and hopefully productive one. Jay Jay -

ITS IN!!!!!! After a long evening of assembly and sorting out some of the loom. The 24v is now in. There are a few teething problems like the Air-con pump hitting the front cross member, but otherwise I am very happy. Just 3 weeks to go now till Worthersee so I need to get things moving. -
If you can I would hacksaw down either side of the wishbone through the bolt. Then hopefully that would leave enough of the bolt sticking out at the back to get it turning with a chisel. Jay

Cheers Ice White Socks. I will hopefully be posting up some progress pics later on today. I only have 3 weeks left before we go to Worthersee!!!! ARGHHH!! Jay -
Is the sump actually resting on the floor then?! :) Jay

LOL. The funniest bit about that car, although its hard to narrow it down, is the way the flames are coming from the rear wheel arch, so it obviously goes faster backwards than forwards!! :) Jay

Does anyone on here have a turn2 VR6 front engine mount fitted. If so what stage, i.e bottom half or both halves? How do you rate it? I have had a look at them on the website and they are just bits of poly cylinder than you can easily buy from a stockist over here, so figured I would make my own. How hard is the poly? Difficult question I know, but does it feel rubbery or more like solid plastic? Cheers all Jay
