Thanksl. LOL. You would not need a lottery win to buy my car mate. :) Jay -
Cool. £600 was the figure I had in my head. I am not doing anything just yet. Going to do a lot of research and investigation before I do anything. I also need to save up for it :) Jay

Yeah I heard the V9F was the one to go for. What does the SQ mean? So £600 odd should get me a used one? Jay
-
How much should I expect to pay for a VR Charger. All I want is the Charger and in the intake pipe. Also which is the one to get as I understand the early ones had problems?? Cheers Jay

I have only used the mirror glass out of the visor you sent, as this one was cracked. The visor itself is LHD passenger one, so is identical to the other one, but reversed. Alex - Yes Gary is back in business, he has decided to go for it full on this time and is doing well. Jay -

Mike - Most places would rather do the prep themselves as the prep is as important as the painting. I have always done the prep on my cars and my mates are painters so have had their advice and checking when I have done it. Furkz - Yep, you got it in one :) I just need to get the mount stuck to the screen. jay -

Well it was sprayed by my mate who works in a big bodyshop, but we hired an oven for the day at a different place and did it in one day. (after I had spent 3 weeks in the garage prepping it). The bodyshop only do insurance work on Porkers, Mercs, etc.. However another mate of mine who is an awesome painter and did some of my car, including the engine bay is Gary at Insignia Coachworks in Poole. Jay -

Spent most of today cleaning and doing a subtle little mod.... can you tell what it is  Jay -
Good news, I hope I will see how quick it is on the way to stealth :) Jay

Fair comment. But I think most people on here have modified cars, so the sort of insurance companies we use are not bothered, in general. Jay
-
There are endless reasons. 1. The power delivery of the 24v is completely different to the G60, its not the peak figures that make a car fast, it how long that figure is spread across the rev range! 2. You get a hell of a lot more efficiency from a modern engine. 36MPG on a long run rather than 28MPG. 3. You get all the extras (if you install the whole lot), cruise control etc.. 4. You know you will be able to get parts for a lot longer as its only 3/4 years old rather than 15/16. 5. You get FULL vag-com diagnostics so you never have to guess what might be wrong again... I could go on..... Jay
-
Wrong i'm afraid. I pay less for my standard engined 24v V6 rado than I did for when it had a modded G60 engine. Most modified car insurance companies only care about BHP, not what is producing it. :) jay

Steering rack issues solutions and swaps....
24V Renshaw replied to 24V Renshaw's topic in Drivetrain
I was thinking about that VR torque setting. "70Nm plus a further 90 degress" That almost suggests they are stretch bolts.... I have new bolts to go in so will tighten them later on and see what affect it has. Jay -

Where did you get that torque setting from? I bought two new bolts this week and re-tapped the threads in the body (M12x1.5), just to make sure they will go in clean. I don't think mine are 130Nm.... Jay -
I remember seeing a thread somewhere, think it was on vortex, about rebuilding a VW Power steering pump. Anyone know about it, have any info? Cheers Jay
