Worthersee - Officially the warmest place in Austria and we can confirm that :) Jay -
What does it come with? Bargain totally depends on what you get with it. I got an entire 4motion golf for not a great deal more than that, which meant I had all the loom, brackets, extras that you need, plus I had a pile of stuff to sell off it. Jay
-
Yes it will be connected to your running problems, it basically feeds back info on the emmisons to the ECU. Jay
-
You can say you have it. :) Jay

Hard graft on the web :) Jay -
No thats useful info mate. The MK4 one is like a camera lens and you mount the mirror bracket on the screen, then silicon the "lens" bit round the edge to hold it still, then clip that in place with the backing bits. So there is nothing actually infront of the sensor other than the glass. I need to make sure its in the swept area though :) Jay

Its a standing joke with all my mates that I get everything for nothing... Let me give you an idea. Wheels £150 Custom adaptors FREE (workshop at my old work) Complete TT dash £200 3 1/2 years ago! Don't get me wrong I do spend a fair bit of money on my car, but nothing like what people think. Its all just blood sweat and tears :) Jay -
I have the VW rain sensing system in my Rado, which came as part of the MK4 loom. It all works, but I have yet to get the sensor glued to the screen, which I will hopefully be doing this week. :) It normally part of the interior mirror, but the corrado mounting point is solid black so I can't fit it in there. So I am going to get the MK4 rear view mirror mount bonded on just under the rear view mirror, then make a smooth bubble out of the MK4 trim bits to cover it. Should be virtually invisible, but work a treat :) Jay

LOL "spot the difference" like it! To be honest the cost of most of the mods is a lot less than you might think. Bear in mind that I did it myself or with the help of mates. For example the full Porsche respray was £200 to hire the oven for a day. :) Jay -
I know it took Paul a while to find one for his MK4 and even then it was an S3 one. I would imagine the RHD one is different as it has to go round the steering column UJ..... Jay

Steering rack issues solutions and swaps....

Mine has completely lost the middle dead spot since fitting the brand new SEAT rack. It was quite pronounced before, but now its absolutely solid. Jay -
I have an early car with late (VR6) bonnet, early wings, VR6 slampanel, early bumper, late headlights and late fogs and indicators. I think :) Jay

UPDATE: I installed the brand new SEAT steering rack this weekend and WOW what a difference!! The steering is tight, positive and solid. That "rebuilt" rack I had was obviously a pile of the proverbial. Interestingly I think I have figured out what the clunk is too. I have no noises now other than the clunk, which is a lot worse than it was. The reason for this is the bolt I have in the main wishbone bolt on the drivers side (back of the subframe) is slightly cross threading so I couldn't tighten it right up. It was tight, but not properly. The clunk is now much more regular and I am also certain this is where the problem lies. I am going to run a tap through the hole and get a brand new bolt from VW and see how it goes, but its definately not right. I am going to try and investigate under the floor to see if I can secure that nut any better if its shifting about. Will keep you all posted, but the SEAT rack rules!! :) Jay -

lol. Yeah Beans on toast will be cool :) I get about 24MPG "average" driving, 28MPG driving carefully and up to 36 MPG on the motorway with the cruise control on. I get way more to a tank than I used to with the G60. Jay -

The stalks are just a very simple switch, which will operate basically all the MFA's in the VW range. As for the MFA info, it is a mixture of signals from the ECU and from outside senders. You will always struggle to replicate the exact signals from a later car on an earlier set of dials. This is exactly why I fitted everything from the MK4, so I know it will work together as it should. Not saying its not possible, it is, but its a lot of messing about to get it right. Jay
