  1. Good driving music too- 'Young Hearts Run Free' Perfect soundtrack for a Z4
  2. Agree with Jon- have a go yourself. You have to remove the following bits: Grille Fog lights + indicators Bumper Slam panel Sounds like a lot, but it's actually really straight forward. The only difficult part was undoing the 4 big bumper bolts- they were totally seized. It took me and a mate to get them off with a breaker bar. I would get all new bolts etc from VAG for when you put it all back together. Also put a little white grease on the bumper bolt threads before refitting. I'm rubbish mechanically- very little experience, and it took me an afternoon to do. Reckon I could do it in a couple of hours now I know what to do.
  3. So TCS are also 'Tricky and Wendy' who obviously buy and sell Corrados, but take bits such as badges off them and sell them for stoooopid rip-off prices on Ebay. Badges with start prices of £30, grommits for the speedo dials- £15 etc etc!!! They've changed their Ebay name now- can't remember what it is. If you're gonna buy a car off them, make sure all the trim and badges are present- if not, insist that they get replaced and don't be fobbed off. What's wrong with people? Wish there was more honesty in the car business :(
  4. Could be what you've mentioned, or the belt tensioner bearing.
  5. J reg Nissan Sunny 1.6 16v. Pretty nippy really. Bought off Mum and Dad, later sold it to my sister. Then had a Mini City, which I wrote off :( Since then I've had a couple of Civic VTIs and a couple of Corrados
  6. Nice to see another vRS owner on here 8) double-6s- don't say a word! Go for it- you won't be disappointed. The VR6 is awsome! Everybody starts off with no mechanical knowledge. I'm certainly not mechanical, but I've managed to do things such as fuel filters, gearbox oil and even my radiator. The more you do, the more confident you get. There's always someone on here willing to give advice and you can find just about everything using the search.
  7. Nice one, Vaughan. She's looking good again (even in the rain). You can really enjoy her now you've had the bearing/service done as well 8)
  8. Been there several times now, so know how you feel  Go on, matey- get yourself another VR 8)
  9. Where are you taking it? Stonehouse? Hope they sort it for you!
  10. Sounds like it could be a fueling issue :? Have you changed the fuel filter? Maybe the fuel pump is on it's way out.
  11. BMC CDA 8) A Carbonio system should also be good as it's located out of the engine bay behind the front bumper. An open cone type filter (K&N etc) in the engine bay is absolutely pointless, and will probably lose power if anything. May also contribute to MAF failure due to the oil.
  12. Nice car! 8) Any plans? Gonna drop it?

    Newbie

Welcome! Looks nice- love aqua blue- one of the best colours imho 8)
  14. Few pics of the C from Bristol Volksfest 8) Got a horrible feeling my manifold is now blowing. At least it will be a good excuse to get a Raceland 6-branch. Anyone know how much a standard VW jobbie costs? Got to sort that and also all the engine mounts now :(
  15. On my way out of Bristol Volksfest yesterday, passed a bunch of lads- one said 'Fookin' lovely car! Always wanted one!' Then later on, a guy came to pick up some wheels off me and said the car was gorgeous and minty- good job he didn't look too close ;)
  16. 110C isn't that bad to be honest, especially if it's a VR. I wouldn't worry too much unless it starts heading towards 115+ regularly.
  17. Looks superb 8) Re oil leak- has the gearbox mount leaked? Happened on my last VR and my garage thought it was an oil leak. There's actually a fair amount of fluid in those hydraulic mounts.
  18. Prob worth changing the fuel filter- 10 minute job.
  19. That bill is huuuuge! At least you know it's had quality servicing etc from AmD 8)

    exhaust advice

A full standard exhaust will set you back at least as much as a Magnex or similar...
  22. Have a gander here mate, plenty to read! ;) And yes, Magnex are rather good!
  23. Some VR6 Corrados had a dizzy- 1992-93 models. Could be the MAF, or as Dom says, cps is a good bet too.
  24. That really does look superb 8) Yeh, that switch is a valet override switch. So, what bits are you gonna swap from the old one? Wheels & exhaust?
  25. What a relief! Great news, matey. You can get your arse down to the next Bristol/Glos meet too! Would be good to have a red C in amongst the various shades of green ;)
