  1. As the others have said, get yourself a KR inlet cam, panel filter (not worth drilling the box imho- put on a cold ait feed instead) and if you have a bit of extra cash, get the head flowed/ported/polished. You should see at least 160 bhp fom these mods. Also, you could get a RR tune up and remap after adding the above mods.
  2. Charlie, must have a trip in this at the next meet- ran out of time yesterday :( The charger looked great though- will sound awesome with the 6-branch on!
  3. Michael, thought the car looked excellent yesterday. It's in such good nick! The engine bay looks fabulous with the tweeked Shrek 8)
  4. This car has gone through an amazing evolution! Was looking excellent at the meet- love the colour- very 'mystic blue' 8)
  5. Amazing car, Dave. Really enjoyed the drive out in it- felt faster than my cousin's Carrera 4 8) Power delivery is fantastic and it sounds great! Nice interior too :)
  6. I'd say that your coolant concentration is definately too high. I would use around 50% G12+ max. What's happening to your top and bottom rad hoses? If the bottom one stays cool, even after the car's been running for a while, the stat is shot. Give the car a good run, pop the bonnet and make sure both hoses are hot. Not too sure about the fans I'm afraid- someone else should know though ;)
  7. Not much luck here :( Best I can find is a VF front mount for £125 (inc VAT and delivery). Stealth seem to have best price on VF rear mounts at £88 (inc VAT, P&P extra). Anyone know somewhere that supplies just the poly inserts for the front mount?
  8. Without the passengers reckon you'd have been pretty even. Reckon the VR is definately faster for 'real world' everyday type driving. You have to keep the CTR on the boil the whole time to be quick. The VR has a slightly better 0-60mph time according to Evo.
  9. You can fit the solid rubber gearbox mount from the Golf MK2 turbo diesel. Pretty sure a few people on here have done this- anyone got the part no? Still can't find any decent cheap replacement front mounts. Anyone know a cheap-ish supplier of VF mounts? They seem to be cheaper than VT mounts and just as good by all accounts.
  10. Just give 'em a good clean/rub down and paint Hammerite Smooth straight on.
  11. This is just typical- why can't people be honest? :( Don't reckon you'll have too much trouble though, mate. You've got good photos + witness, he's just got his word.
  12. Agree entirely with what Rodders said :) Oh dear... I like mine because it looks mean and agressive, it's perfect for long cruises and also great when you want to give it some beans, the interior is a nice place to be (just as good as any VW I've been in- and I've been in loads), it's very practical, yet sporty (perfect compromise) and yes, it was a fair bit cheaper than the equivalent Audi or VW (A4 Avant & Passat estate). We could have got the equivalents (a couple of years old), but imho, neither looked as good and both were slower. The Impreza WRX Sportback was considered, but the boot was way too small. I also like the fact that ignorant people take the p iss, yet 9 times out of 10 I know my car looks better, is more reliable and is faster. Case in point- guy I used to work with sold his C VR6 because it wasn't practical enough anymore. I suggested he get an Octy vRS to which he replied along the lines of "F off- wouldn't be seen dead in a Skoda!" He turned up for work a few days late in a lilac Renault Laguna  I don't think there are many better looking estates out there.
  13. My front mount is done for- want a decent but cheap replacement- anyone know who does poly inserts like the old Turn 2 mounts?
  14. Yep, get a Neuspeed one from Awesome. My oil temps are at least 10 C lower since fitting.
  15. Or I just hate skodas? I prefer decent cars :)[/quote:e1508] Must admit, most of the range aren't that nice to look at imho. Really like the MK1 Octy vRS and MK1 Fabia vRS though. Think the Octy looks agressive in an Audi way. Not keen on the MK2s visually. If Skodas aren't 'decent' etc, explain the latest Top Gear Survey (and indeed, all the surveys from the last few years!)
  16. Sounds like you got an absolute bargain there! Lovely colour, too 8) Re spoiler- also worth checking that the blue/white wire with a single blue plug is actually plugged into the back of the fusebox. Mine wasn't, and the spoiler worked manually off the switch, but not automatically. Reckon it was unplugged when the alarm was fitted.
  17. double-6s, if someone calls a car 'poo' it usually means 'c rap', and they are absolutely not c rap cars in anyway- as you say, very capable, but they also look pretty good, have nice interiors etc.
  18. CorradoRun, what do you mean by vRS poo? Superb cars- why do you think half the police pursuit cars in the country are vRS estates? They're an absolute bargain compared to the other performance 1.8Ts.
  19. Totally stupid  Looks like the C was pulling away a little- not a lot in it though. Wonder if the vRS had been remapped- reckon a remapped vRS would be a match for a standard VR.
  20. Paint looks superb and the engine bay is fantastic!
  21. Goldie, think there are one or two people on here who've had more. too hot, that would be great- look forward to seeing them 8) Dogzyboy, thanks mate :) The current one is a work in progress- a few minor things need sorting, although it may take a while! Thanks, Vaughan. I'm quite pleased with them :) Defo rather have 7 Corrados than 5000 Fiestas!
