  1. tidy have you tested it yet? & what bulbs did you use?
  2. pleasure helping & glad people will be able to see well in the dark :D
  3. FYI my VR didnt seem to sound any different on startup to OE with the 263's installed it has always sounded quite loud & tappy on start up but the tappy settles down after a short while, this is usually around the time when the ECU eases off the choke & revs settle to normal tick over
  4. it is one i would part waves to try to own if i could lol
  5. with some neat electrical tape work & a little securing ive found ive had no trouble with any of the 3 i have fitted Jim
  6. but they want to turn on that red light ;)
  7. tidy i am very pleased so far PS apologies Tan for clogging your for sale thread ;)
  8. no danger - happy to help there is a pic of the 4 pot yellow loveliness on one of the pages too lol mine are only just bedding in but early thoughts are that they are going to be superb!
  9. pleasure i did quite a bit of research into my options for binning the standard VR calipers but keeping the 15" speedline alloy the 4 pots from HiSpec i had seen on here as dragongreen has them on his VR - plus id seen them on wheeler dealers when they used them for a porsche IIRC the Billet 4's do come as a kit but you will also need a set of 10mm hubcentric spacers, longer wheel bolts & braided hoses with a banjo connector. i did initially get the spacers & bolts from HiSpec too but didnt use them as the spacers were not hubcentric & the bolts needed cutting down a they were slightly too large. the braided hoses were fine HiSpec manufacture to order & have a 3-4 week lead time i put all the details in my build thread here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?44751-g0ldf1ng3r-s-VR6-amp-1-8-16V/page40 if you want specific info :)
  10. you will be hard pressed to find big brakes that fit under a standard 15" wheel - most require 16's & motor sport variations which can house big brakes options for with a 15" (AFAIK) are 288mm calipers or HiSpec Billet 4's, the latter of which i have just put on my VR i am unsure if bespoke makers like Wilwood have any options that will fit
  11. indeed but at least we know who to PM when we are part hunting ;) lol

    Roll Cages

EJ Taylor on here had a cage in his VR but im not sure it it was taken out before he sold it or not - might be worth dropping him a PM IIRC he had it custom fabricated & is in the oxford area
  13. they are around £140 having had a look on ebay etc i got for £75 + vat fitted on saturday & it fixed the issue on first turn of key
  14. fitted the new ICV to the VR on saturday - fixed the idle issue & ran perfectly on first turn of the key nice easy job :)
  15. you can get an allen key socket very cheap for this job - local motor factors or halfords - you can get some proper leverage on them that way
  16. mmmm you have to love the combination of a summers type day, windows down, sunroof open & the VR howling.....satisfaction guaranteed :D oh, & im loving the big yellow calipers poking out from behind the black speedline against the blackberry body!!
  17. had a look at the VR on saturday fitted the new ICV in about 15 odd minutes - thanks to those who gave advice on it, 2 bolts out & the rear ignition lead plastic swivels to just about give enough wriggle room started her up & she fired first turn of the key with no issue - idle fixed :D let her warm & then took her round the block, running was back to perfect & thankfully the rear brake that was making one hell of a noise last week was silent....phew thus couldnt resist taking her for a run, she needed one for the battery but i also needed one as damn ive missed my VR! once up to temp a boot of the right foot gave me that huge dump of adrenaline whilst my ears reveled in the beautiful sounds. queue lots of giggling, shaky hands & oh the trouser tickling burbles it produces LOL took it easy on the brakes as still not many miles put on the 4 pots but then gave them a few sharp tests on sunday - holy cow what a difference to standard calipers!! they bite very quickly & very hard indeed. they will take a little getting used to as the retardation really can throw your body forwards as you apply more force on the pedal. the poor gf nearly hit her head on the windscreen at one point as she wasnt expecting it lol it is very satisfying to finally have some stopping power that i can rely on as blimey it doesnt half get up to big figures quickly time to get on to the to-do list soon methinks
  18. tidy fix well done the liqui moly stuff you linked is the one i used & is recommended on here
  19. i run ring xenon ultima's in both rado's with KUR2Y looms & they are superb :)
  20. for those reasons above i thought best to just get a new one too lol
  21. of course you may my mechanic has informed me that it is the motor part of the ICV that has failed, rather than the valve/butterfly being coked up & not opening/closing properly i did also try taking the VR on several long ish runs with some full boot applied to see if it would start to behave again as i am aware that this can happen when a VR is not used for a while plus i got the new one at cost as i work for a motor factors & was of the mindset that even if the old one started to behave it was an indicator if is failing & thus may be wise to just get a new one
  22. buy it back & be happy m8 :) try not to regret whatever you decide. as i said before, life is far too short to be having regrets. look upon it that you had the courage to do what makes your heart & soul happy - if it doesnt work out in the long run then at least you can say you tried & enjoyed trying (rather than regret you did or didnt try or look at it like you failed) keep the 12v VR6 - it is the true heart of the corrado VR even if you have to lay it up for a while to sort a full rebuild you will have the feeling of wellbeing that it is yours & then reap the joyful grins it gives you once it is back on the road i empathise with your pains & deliberation m8 ive just spent a fair amount on new 4 pots for my VR, had some welding done, addressed the worst patches of the underside & got a fresh ticket but after only days of getting her back she is laid up on the drive needing a new idle control valve & with a rear brake issue i didnt even manage to bed the new brakes in yet :( lol fortunately i work at a motor factors & can get staff rate so i managed to get a new ICV & rear discs/pads for around the RRP of an ICV itself - just got to fit them add to that the need to get the sills painted, along with my night sky micro blistered bonnet, & both front wings starting to rot i must address paint very soon am currently deliberating if better to have the wings cut/welded & painted or if it would be much more expensive to get carbon fiber wings from the states all of the above will mean having to forfeit on carpet in the house, a new kitchen floor, getting my shed up etc BUT those things can & will have to wait as rot & rust wont all that said, hand on heart, i honestly cant wait to get all that finished on the VR so i can grin everywhere i drive in it :)
  23. pan - fire that is all lol
