Cam position sensor (VR6)... a couple of questions.

Could be something to do with the timing being changed after you had the chains done so the ecu needs resetting to adapt to the new cam position. -
Cam position sensor (VR6)... a couple of questions.

The cps only fits one way. It sits just under the black plastic cover, above the coilpack. You just have to pull the 3 leads out, remove the cover, unplug the connector and loosen the hex bolt which holds it on. A failing maf sensor could give similar symptoms. If the sensor isn't that old it should still be under warranty. -
Moonlight blue vr6s always have high power outputs :D

I stand corrected. It's 4 3/4" W x 3 1/4" H

Mine were from demon tweeks. Think they were about £140 and were a special order. DT don't seem to keep much corrado stuff in stock (I've just waited 10 days for my new rear dampers) so if you need them in a hurry go elsewhere.
-
Only one is long enough (700mm)
-
I think so, but i'll go and measure it.
-
Yes, fits nicely without need for modification, looks perfect. The only issue I have with my magnex is is knocks slightly on the rear jacking point (next to the rear silencer).
-
Do you mean the tail pipe or the rear silencer? The tail pipe on the magnex is 6"-4"

You can get both a yellow GB and yellow D euro-german plate. If you want to be on the safe side go for a yellow GB rear, and white D front.

wondering whether a remap is required with an enlarged TB or could you run standard management with a standard manifold/schrick manifold without any problems even if it wasn't the optimal setup?
-
thanks :) pm sent!

Scruffydubbers, where did you get the German tax and mot stickers?
-
I asked guy hartley what he'd spent on the car and he reckoned about £40,000. About £20k to buy and the same again in modifications

In mine the oil temp and water temp always registers at 50 degrees at the same point. when I had a thermostat/sender problem the water temp increased faster than the oil temp and read high. I'd change the sender first then the thermostat.

Another way of getting a seized bolt off is to give it a good sideways shock with a hammer and chisel which breaks the seal made by the rust/corrosion between the bolt and piece of metal it's screwed in to.

Found some pics of bbs rc on a corrado. Might help you make up your mind

Seems that Americans measure the whp differently. Either that or they use pullies like shirt buttons :) They claim 280 whp for the c2 kit, but one of the first kits to be dynoed only produced 255 whp :?

I've just picked up some 17" RX II off ebay for £300. Think they really suit the car. Quite like the RK too. Bought them incase I want to get a big brake upgrade and they were a bargain!

No need to tap the sump, the charger has its own oil reservoir-it spins in a bath of oil so there are no oil feed/return line like on a vortech charger. This makes it easier to diy fit/remove. The instructions put fitting time at approx. 4 hours.
-
Yes it's very easy to fit. The charger is held on by a bracket on three steel studs screwed into the head where the auxiliary belt tensioner is located and a new tensioner is bolted onto the face of the alternator. The rest is just pipework and fitting a new chip into the ecu.

There's a hole in the chassis rail to shove the fuel line into. That's how mine is and I don't get any petrol fumes in the cabin.

You want a 13 row (minimum) mocal cooler from thinkautomotive or a dealer like stealth. Stealth is your best bet as mocal will probably send you the wrong parts.

Well if you don't want it to go into the intake, fouling the maf and causing a crap idle it's got to go somewhere else- into a catchcan or the atmosphere. The breather filter isn't a good idea as it drips onto the engine/manifold but with a hose the oil vaour can be directed away from these areas. Yes, onto the road if you can't be bothered, otherwise directly into a catchcan or back into the intake via a catchcan as I've already suggested.
-
If you put your finger inside the metal cc breather on the cam cover there should be a copper coil to trap oil. Make sure it's there. Another tip is don't top the oil up to the full mark on the dipstick but keep it slighty below, then not as much oil goes through the pcv valve.
