  1. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerosearch Search on 'turbo conversion' and check the archived content box. Read anything by 'mrkrad' or jwatts they ARE SNStuning.com. Gavin http://www.kompressorkanada.ca/pages/vw/G-replace.htm
  2. Can we have the rarest VW?? I drive to work most days in one of the rarest VWs I know of in the UK. Simon Faiers has one and I once saw one on the M6 years ago, which prompted me to buy mine when I saw it. Nearly forgot, I have seen PHATVR6s Corrado, not so many of them about. Certainly a lot less common than 968 Clubsports, 911 RSRs etc. Saw a couple of those butt ugly Alfa Romeos, the SZ? must be 15 years ago on a Ski Trip to Flaine in France. There is a Gaillardo (sp) upstairs in Terminal 1 at Manchester airport, that I walk past most days. Seen a few of them around Manchester. Common as muck! Gavin
  3. Thanks Pauli, much appreciated. Anyone else interested in a loom don't leave it too long now. Got the visa for Australia and mightn't be here a lot longer. Gavin
  4. As long as that's not the belt slipping. They tend to make moore noise on full lock as well. Gavin
  5. You would have to add a module to do that Yan. Not done it myself but no reason why it's not possible. The comfort closing as they call it has to be a factory option, in th ebochures they hit is with and asterisk and then say additional parts may be required. A sunroof clower may be a bit different to a window closer as it needs to be able to shut the roof from a tlit or slide. I can do some invest if you need/want one. All the alarms I have come across have a live when armed output you can use for LEDs and triggering extra modules. Gavin

    Scorpion 5021T

What do you need that for Chris? They are now owned by Electro Systems on 01257 249928. The blokes are pretty helpful. If you are still stuck, I took a Scorpian dealer fit cat 1 off my MK3 and have it to a mate. We might be able to work backwards on the wires? Gavin
  7. I hope he didn't take extra money off you for that Alex. They all do full closure, you just extend the locking pulse to 40 seconds in the software. Gavin
  8. A nasty job taking the dash out. Or more to the point, putting it back with no squeaks. You know in yourself if you are capable of removing the immobiliser or not. What is the model number? I have a Laserline immob in my garage that I removed sometime ago. If it is the same one, then maybe you could just swap over the brain part and leave the wiring. I do have the touch keys for it. If it's the right one you can have it for the postage or I'll take it to e38 on the sunday. Gavin
  9. The intercooler won't affect reliabilty. You can take the exhaust side of the charger off without losing any parts. Just make sure that the apex strips are all sat nicely in their grooves when you put it back together. I have rebuilt 3 chargers in my time but I am by no means the expert. Gavin
  10. Disconnect a pipe at the lowest point in the system. Probably the pump itself. I am tempted to say spin the engine to pump it out but I don't know what kind of pressures are involved. You could take the belt off and spin the pump by hand, which would be safer. There is no drain that I am aware of. Gavin
  11. Neil, PS fluid and the other service parts can be got from GSF or Eurocarparts. PS fluid is not a service item so no need to change it. It might need a top up though. Oil filters, GSF do genuine ones VWs synta silver is a good all round oil. Your cat doesn't need replacment. Most cats produce the eggy smell it's just part of the 'cleaning' process. Saved a fortune there.. Gavin
  12. Nothing wrong with mine but then you have to look after them. I have had all mine serviced regularly. No problems, touch wood. I don't drive like a girl either. Gavin
  13. Yeah, I'll do it. Gonna be a 24 hour job though. Taking the torque wrench is no problem. Just swap the sensor Mr shawshankkid and nip it up just over finger tight. Then we can torque at e38 on the sunday. Longest part of the job would be opening the bonnet. Gavin
  14. I'll take a torque wrench to e38 on the sunday if that's any help.... Will do it for 40p an hour  Gavin
  15. There is that, get another off the shelf attitude where I work too. Got to keep the lads in the bay busy
  16. I have had ECUs to bits. Not sure if they are plugin or piggy back but either way it can't be that hard. I am sure that you have messed with much more expensive gear 'in your time'!!
  17. Wash the car. Thats all the prep my car ever gets...
  18. Supposed to earth the bonnet and reduce radio interference. Supposed to................ GAvin
  19. It could just be a seal has blown out of the casing. A trip back to Jabba is in order. Gavin
  20. I have powerflex front bushes in my syncro, had to do a bit of modifying to fit them. No complaints about noise and vibration. Gavin
  21. Good thing is, it disipates heat better. Gavin
  22. Hopefully he has done a good job then. Difficult to do a cat 1 in less than 4 hours without cutting corners somewhere. Gavin
  23. I can double check at the weekend if you like, but I'm 99% definate mine has no vacuum pipe to the ECU - the only connection that I remember is the multipin electrical one. Phil, ETKA shows a pipe from the NRV, in the vacuum pipe to the servo, to the ECU. The fuel distributer can measure engine load as it is moved by the airflow. The Vacuum pipe tells the ECU engine load so it can send the sparks at teh right time. Gavin
  24. Not sure on the cost TBH. Ring and check if you like the part number is 027 105 263B, Bolt is N 040 106 4 and the washer is 068 105 193A. Gavin
