It's in the wiki - VR6 ECU reset procedure under Engine.
-
I replaced my belt and the whole tensioner unit with VAG replacements - sourced from Germany, so a bit cheaper. It's not worth taking the risk, as Kev says, it's not only the bearings that go over time, but the springs in the tensioner as well.
-
Mine stayed on without ignition and ran down the battery - replacing the rad switch solved it.
-
Other thing to check is the fan switch in the radiator itself.
-
Also check the engine and gearbox mounts as these can lead to sloppy shifting if worn. Just had mine replaced and made a huge difference. There is a special tool from VAG for aligning the gearshift lever, but most mechanics do it by feel. - I have one, so if anyone in Ireland wants to use it, PM me.
-
Check to see if the callipers move freely on their two mounts with the pads removed - there are two bushings in there, and they should slide easily. Rear brake pad sets often come with a tube of grease for this very purpose. It's a known issue with VW callipers.

The German dealer fit Gamma IVs had green illumination and look really OEM. Still available on German fleabay.
-
Are these for a late car? I would be interested if they are.
-
I used Redline MT-90 in mine - check out page 3 of my member's thread for a quick how-to http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=55703&page=3&highlight=shark

Looks like a rare find - best of luck with it.

Part#078133534C fuel pressure regulator costs €50.98 for a Bosch one here. I paid around that for a VAG one.
-
Try replacing the fuel pressure regulator on the front of the injector rail. That did it on mine.
-
Did you get a chance to check the postage on this? Cheers.

AFAIK the last time I tired it with a headlight switch it will give you a darker green. You can get caps in electronics stores online, look for LED covers or LED "condoms" -;)
-
Sometimes you can put coloured bulb caps on them. Some of the early radios I've seen had screw in bulbs, others had them soldered on. Or you could just by a second hand VW Gamma IV tape deck with CD changer control - came on the cars in Germany and has green illumination on the earlier models. That's what I have in mine, with an ipod adapter going to the CD changer control. Works pretty well and looks OEM.

Well said Jim.

I used to have the NA 5 Cylinder KV Audi Coupe Quattro from the same era, 1987 - not the turbo but the same body shape as the Ur and with the quattro drivetrain, and absolutely loved it and it was a hoot to drive, especially in rain or snow - but definitely a cruiser. That 5 pot sound is awesome. It met a sad end as a track car after it was damaged badly by vandals and thieves before I could fully restore it.
-
Not sure - depends on what the import tax would be. there are always a few for sale in Northern Ireland on UK plates. If you were to bring one back from the south the tax would have been paid twice.
-
That's why the ones I've seen on sale over here are very slow to sell. The tax is just too much for most people.
-
Try a VR6!
-
Definitely still want it. PM me with your payment details and I will sort it out once you have checked postage and have a final price.
-
Don't talk to me about the tax - it's an absolute killer - but worth it.
-
Welcome aboard. I'm up in Dublin. At least you get fuel economy :)
-
I'll take it - can you post to Dublin, Ireland?

which cars have the best interior and body trim quality?
fendervg replied to davidwort's topic in General Car Chat
Lol: - I thought this thread was about the Corrado and Monday morning/Friday afternoon cars. Audi are fairly good build quality though, but it can vary.
